micheal mann's camera work and signature style is so breathtaking here. Tokyo Vice episode 1 is honestly one of the best first episodes in any tv series.
All I'm saying is that season 2 had better release in the U.K after it's U.S run concludes on Max next month! The BBC picked up season 1 about 5 months after it had originally finished on HBO Max, then it finally got a DVD/Blu Ray release in late 2023, I don't mind waiting for season 2 to come out over here but please just don't make us wait too long! This show needs WAY more love and appreciation U.K and worldwide! I can't judge season 2 as I've only seen the trailer, but if it's a success they'll probably renew it for a third and probably final season. Everyone needs to see this show, it's the only TV series I've seen that shows the Yakuza. If this had been a Netflix production it probably would've been nowhere near as good, but HBO/Max always delivers premium content (top cast, writing and direction from Michael Mann and others throughout the 1st season). Edit: Season two is currently on BBC IPlayer as well as season one, and I'm hoping for an Ishida prequel series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That's exactly why 'Don' Ishida needs his own The Godfather Part II style prequel series, season two is the last one according to Jake Adelstein but a prequel series chronicling Ishida's rise to power within the Chihara Kai is the perfect way to expand upon the Tokyo Vice universe!
@@UD503J 💯, Ishida's rise to power could also be paralleled by Sato's struggle to lead the Chihara Kai into a new century with harsher anti Yakuza legislation (Vito/Michael Corleone type vibes). Apparently the producers are looking for another network to pick up Tokyo Vice for a third season but it isn't necessary, I'd much rather see a prequel/sequel series instead: Maybe I'll get to work on writing the series myself! Tokyo Vice has officially entered my all time top five, incredible series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Michael Mann's directing style is very evident here, especially when you compare it to the subsequent episodes, which he did not direct. I think it's how he handles close-ups and often frames the shots close to the back of someone's head and shoulders, as if you are right there standing behind them.
Love the attention to detail in this show. I have Japanese ancestry in my dads side and ishida looks so much like my dad haha. This show really does so many world building things right, you really feel like you are in Japan in the 90’s, the cars, the people, the clothes, it’s truly a work of art!
Ishida needs his own The Godfather Part II style prequel series as season two has been confirmed to be the last according to Jake Adelstein himself. Season two's ending felt like the perfect series conclusion so a third season isn't necessary but I want to see the Tokyo Vice universe explored further and an Ishida prequel series sounds perfect-Please make it happen HBO/Max!
Man i loved this show and the story it told however i dont feel a season 3 is needed at all. I feel like many shows go on much longer than they need to and have no end game in sight anymore with much of the time shows being cancelled and never wrapped up properly. The season 2 finale wrapped everything up pretty neatly, set the world right and told a hell of a story.
@@erick2853After having watched the season two finale I completely agree with you, the ending was absolutely perfect and I heard that Jake Adelstein has confirmed that there won't be a season three. I'm hoping for an Ishida prequel series in the style of The Godfather Part II, that would be epic!

There has to be a season 3! Its too fucking good not to
Apparently it’s over after 2 seasons. I just finished episode 10 it was good but episode 9 was sensational. Truly love this show
I just finished watching it. What a ride! Damn good show.
これは親分が子分に盃を渡す儀式でこれとは別に継承杯っていう新たな組長や会長のための儀式が有ります。
another ceremony on season 2 episode 10 for Sato 😊
Ishida oyabun ❤️❤️❤️
仮面ライダーゼクロスです。
I still like Ishida as a guy. I really like him. The character respects tradition, he's a good-looking man.
He is Kamen Rider No. 10. It's Zx
I need this songgggg
I am hoping for a season 3

In case you haven't found them yet, they might be ray-bans, RB3717. Or maybe Kopajos - Orlov, which looks a bit closer.
It’s only a matter of time until this show takes off
What's the sound track ?
I want the song name
Sounds like a Hitman ost
2:20 Lol, these people are a circus
But those people were real OG’s
