My grandfather described running and playing in the fields with Muddy Waters on the Stovall Plantation. I miss those stories. His name was Johnny Braxton. He was born Feb. 10, 1915 to Mammie Pittman.
Went there a few months ago , you just can’t describe how big those fields are to someone who has never seen them . I just couldn’t image picking them by hand
Hallo Perry, Erg bedankt voor je compliment! Ja, doen! Terug naar the Delta, eind september, begin oktober zijn er leuke festivals! Google op Highway 61 te Leland & King Biscuit in Helena. Have fun!
I feel like cryin! Stovall in deze staat what a shape she's in. Never get no lovin' she deserves. Wie behoudt Stovall voor de toekomst? McKinley Morganfield is zo belangrijk voor veel mensen. Onze cultuur, even there's a ocean that divides us!

I was lucky enough to see Muddy Waters open for Eric Clapton at my first concert I attended at age 17 in Spokane, Washington. That was some concert.
Saw them at Wings Stadium '79. Sadly he passed a year before the first Chi blues festival
Shoulda been Eric opening for Mud

Thank you for that live version of My Home is in the Delta. I don't think I've heard it before.

Want to see that place soon.
Dear Tracy, enjoy the blues, have a very good time!

Was it plantation where there was forced labor slavery or just a company with employees? I thought slavery ended in US in the 19th century.
Sharecroppers owing more than they earned back to the massa at payday, keeping them in servitude.
@@SirLoinofBeef235 Oh I see, We used to had Serfdom in Poland but it was finished in 18th century.
Stovall farms had their own money that they paid all the workers and could only be spent in the farm store
That's right, they had their own money!
Thanks for watching!
