I do not mean this in a rude way but I feel you have misunderstood Kris. Kris is NOT a blank slate like Frisk. Kris had their own life, back story, personality and was already a pre-established character in this world. They are somebody that we have taken control over. As of now, we don't know how or why this has happened. Other characters comment on how strange Kris has been acting recently, this is because we are controlling them and making them act differently compared to how they normally act (Kris is described as being a bit of a trickster). As of now, the theory is that Kris is removing their soul to breathily take back control. Lastly, Kris a They, not a He lmao.
As much as I love Undertale I’m way to blinded from nostalgia and honestly delterune is amazing, With unique characters and some returning characters such as undyne and Toriel, let’s hope the next update doesn’t take 5 years

You may hate Birdley but he's part of why Queen is so funny, his character is used to give Noelle a bit of backstory (kinda) and to make the narrative a bit more dynamic, a lot of jokes in chapter two are results of Queen and Birdly simply having interactions lol Oh and his ?death? is a good way to end (kinda x2) the Weird Route ^^ OH ! and his osts are banger

I LOVE Undertale, but I've always liked Deltarune more. I never outright said it because I was too scared people would get upset with me (even though I know that's irrational) since it's very dear to some people. Half of me also thought that I was the only one who thought this, so I'm glad someone else said this. Deltarune is a beautifully done game, and so is Undertale
thats the theme of Deltarune but more expanded. Its like an isekai, 2 Kids opens a door and wakes up on another world. Its true that that theme is very common but In Deltarune that theme expands on and on to mystery.. (gaster)

Deltarune is not *better* than Undertale, it is *different* Toby said it himself somewhere One thing I think I prefer to Undertale is that the battle feel more like a little story where you become friend with a monster. In Deltarune it tends more to the strategic aspect, I won’t say it’s worst, it’s something *different* I also love the concept of characters like Flowey remembering your saves and reset, it is such an unique story. The fact that you play kinda like a god in the universe who can chose to do the right things, and then have to face Asriel who become even more of a god Deltarune won’t be better like I said it will be different. It will explore the fact that the character you’re playing isn’t actually your character, Kris is their own character, but you force them to act as you want. It will be something as unique as Undertale, and different. Now you can prefer which one you want, for now I prefer Undertale I think, but that can change in the future, even though I won’t say one is better than the other
To be honest, only time will really tell. The story of Deltarune isn't complete, but Undertale's is. While we know pretty much what's going on in the entirety of Undertale, as well as the story it tells with each route, Deltarune only brings up more questions because it's not complete. Undertale held many solid and powerful ideas, but Deltarune is more or less an unknown. Like we can point at Undertale and go "that shit's fucking amazing", because it all comes together at the end to provide a powerful story. But for Deltarune, we don't even really know what's going on just yet.

i’m not gonna lie as i’ve gotten older i’ve come to like deltarune WAY more, especially with the release of chapter 2 to see more of what it’s doing, it just sucks how much less of the overall game there is to chew on (even if the actual content that currently exists is just as much, if not more than undertale lmao)

in theory, this is a pretty easy answer. toby has not only had deltarune in his mind for way longer, but hes also grown with his team, and gained greater knowledge of how to control gamemaker and the sort. hes even made a team to help hm.
Frisk/Chara were blank slates. Their motivations, what they consider fun, their gender even, all of it is left up to the player to determine. Kris on the other hand, is actually a person. They are a teen who misses their brother, is mischievous and skilled at piano, who is enby. With the end of Chapter 2, it's clear that they are in conflict with us the player, who have taken over their life, and is causing a problem we will have to deal with. What sort of person they are is yet to be revealed, but it's a sure thing that whatever we players decide to do, Kris will not accept it.
Good video. I did enjoy it. But respectfully, I think there was too much recapping, I didn't really need the general outline of the plot of both chapters retold, and I doubt most viewers do, what we wanna see is your take on it, so I'd cut straight to that

undertale will always be dear to my heart, but i also think deltarune is better! though personally this may be because it's the one thats getting new content. i do think its not the right time to pick which one you prefer at the moment though since we have so little of deltarune so far
The biggest proof of deltarune's potential is how packed the game already is in what, proportionally, you could say is only this game's snowdin section (chapter 2). We haven't even gotten to really emotional parts.

I'm REALLY glad my teachers in school taught me well that essays about literature works should not include retellings of their story so if i go out to make one myself i wont have to go trough actually creating a bunch to realize or get criticism about how you shouldnt do that
So far, my opinion of them is Deltarune is objectively better than Undertale in all ways but that Deltarune is still in development. I am looking forward to it and will absolutely buy it when CH 3 is released.
I prefer undertale, because of the story, and versatility. undertake has 93 endings, delta rune, for now, technically doesn't even have endings, I dont count snow grave because it basically ends the same way for now (except chicken nugget man). but I play more delta rune then undertake, because the mechanics are cooler, because toby coded undertake first, so he had experience for deltarune
Deltarune Gameplay is 100% BETTER Skip dialogues (and almost cut-scenes) Be able to Run Use/equip itens are faster and more interesting (Party interactions). I already talked about RUN? Extra: Fights in Weird Route hopelly, will not be like Genocide (Hit-kill). And Deltarune make a better use of it's songs and Characters, most part of they are more likeable here than in Undertale (at least for me).
Deltarune and Undertale are games about choices, even if most part of they are just a different interaction than a different route/end. So when the devs possibility the gamplay to be faster. It's make me happy

So now that artist is continuing on like nothing ever happened, with their remaining fanbase now rabidly devoted, & innocent kids being indoctrinated into proship camp. 😞 Fictional subjects or not, such art comes from someone's REAL problem, & fuels it more (both in the artist & 'similar' viewers) so it gets harder for them to overcome it. And in turn, sharing it publicly (especially where a large chunk of the audience are children) grooms people to normalize & accept such behavior... in turn, making them more likely to accept someone abusing them that way, & not reporting it or seeking help, because then they'd think they're "picking on" their abuser. 😟 I felt so betrayed to find out; their art is so beautiful... But you never know what ugliness lies beneath. 😔 Even if their new (public) art isn't dirty anymore, I still can't look at their pics of Frisk & the Deltarune teens without knowing how that artist might be thinking of them...

Thinking Deltarune is better should not be a hot take, so such deep explanation is unnecesary. It's technically the main game toby fox wanted to create, and Undertale was just a test. It's bigger and goes deeper.
I'm still on the fence right now. Believe it or not but it's a little hard to be certain aout an opinion when you only have 2/7 parts of it currently. If Deltarune continues the way it is, while improving on a few things, it'll definitely be a game I consider better than Undertale

Idk undertale feels like a masterpiece but Delta rune doesn't, also delta rune isn't finished so that's part of it. I feel like delta rune isn't as serious as undertale and that's kind of missing from it, then again it also isn't finished yet again. I hope the vibe changes a bit as we get more chapters, not that I don't the funny stuff or anything, just feels a bit over saturated.
imo, both are essentially walking sims yet deltarune has alot better art, moments and other stuff. for example, no one came to undertale for the bullet hell stuff. it was for the story, the characters, and deltarune does this (imo again) better than undertale

Like date with papyrus, the build up to asgore (omg the soundtrack there!), the bit when flowey knows you killed torial. I also love the talk with flowey on genocide near the end. Delta rune is a lot more relaxed that undertale and it kind of just feels like everyone's just hanging around and making jokes, the stakes are never very high and it doesn't really matter whether you "kill" or spare enemies. Then again, I'm hoping deltarune serpasses my expectations and will be very happy if it does. At the moment though I'm not expecting it to surpass undertale

I played both right when they came out and Deltarune even for being only 2 chapters has really captured my attention more than undertale did

Yes, so far Deltarune has been promising, but there is still that small chance that it could become ass. Toby Fox is a great game dev but he’s not some flawless angel. The next chapters are all perfectly capable of being controversial.
We need to wait for the game to actually be a full game before we start comparing it with Undertale.
Honestly I don’t think we should even be comparing it with Undertale. I don’t think we’re meant to make these two games compete. Rather, they compliment each other.
I'm REALLY glad my teachers in school taught me well that essays about literature works should not include retellings of their story so if i go out to make one myself i wont have to go trough actually creating a bunch to realize or get criticism about how you shouldnt do that

So far, my opinion of them is Deltarune is objectively better than Undertale in all ways but that Deltarune is still in development. I am looking forward to it and will absolutely buy it when CH 3 is released.
I prefer undertale, because of the story, and versatility. undertake has 93 endings, delta rune, for now, technically doesn't even have endings, I dont count snow grave because it basically ends the same way for now (except chicken nugget man). but I play more delta rune then undertake, because the mechanics are cooler, because toby coded undertake first, so he had experience for deltarune

So now that artist is continuing on like nothing ever happened, with their remaining fanbase now rabidly devoted, & innocent kids being indoctrinated into proship camp. 😞
Fictional subjects or not, such art comes from someone's REAL problem, & fuels it more (both in the artist & 'similar' viewers) so it gets harder for them to overcome it. And in turn, sharing it publicly (especially where a large chunk of the audience are children) grooms people to normalize & accept such behavior... in turn, making them more likely to accept someone abusing them that way, & not reporting it or seeking help, because then they'd think they're "picking on" their abuser. 😟
I felt so betrayed to find out; their art is so beautiful... But you never know what ugliness lies beneath. 😔
Even if their new (public) art isn't dirty anymore, I still can't look at their pics of Frisk & the Deltarune teens without knowing how that artist might be thinking of them...

I'm still on the fence right now. Believe it or not but it's a little hard to be certain aout an opinion when you only have 2/7 parts of it currently. If Deltarune continues the way it is, while improving on a few things, it'll definitely be a game I consider better than Undertale

Idk undertale feels like a masterpiece but Delta rune doesn't, also delta rune isn't finished so that's part of it. I feel like delta rune isn't as serious as undertale and that's kind of missing from it, then again it also isn't finished yet again. I hope the vibe changes a bit as we get more chapters, not that I don't the funny stuff or anything, just feels a bit over saturated.
imo, both are essentially walking sims yet deltarune has alot better art, moments and other stuff. for example, no one came to undertale for the bullet hell stuff. it was for the story, the characters, and deltarune does this (imo again) better than undertale
@@Blockrooms I agree with what you're saying but for me the best moments of undertale beat the best moments of delta rune. Like date with papyrus, the build up to asgore (omg the soundtrack there!), the bit when flowey knows you killed torial. I also love the talk with flowey on genocide near the end. Delta rune is a lot more relaxed that undertale and it kind of just feels like everyone's just hanging around and making jokes, the stakes are never very high and it doesn't really matter whether you "kill" or spare enemies. Then again, I'm hoping deltarune serpasses my expectations and will be very happy if it does. At the moment though I'm not expecting it to surpass undertale
