It already is which is why I'm shocked Best Buy hasn't changed their mind. People are waking up to the fact that streaming services can pull your favorites to where they can live in purgatory for who knows how long.
It is. People are waking up to how fleeting streaming services are. Stuff gets added and removed constantly and then edited. Best Buy won't survive 2+ years. Nobody is going into Best Buy to buy grills or Funko Pops.
Ironically I just got all the Hosue of Lies DVD’s from Amazon. I replaced all of them since we lost our Storage about a Decade ago. It’s weird not seeing Blu-Ray’s Walmart is my place of DVD’s since they’ll never get a Blu-Ray Upgrade so I’m picking up the TV Shows like Married with Children, Miami Vice etc…. The Mummy Trilogy is not bad I personally like all 3 but the first 2 are the Best..
Your best buy looks like one of the best buys I go to, to buy movies. I didnlike the best buy sales the past few weeks. I bought most of the Disney 4k steelbooks for 9.99 when they were on sale. I'm trying to buy most of the 4k or blurays when they go on sale at best buy. I finally got the naked gun 4k steelbook since it was on sale for under $20.00, I got for order pick up nation best buy. The only 4k steelbook I missed was Young Guys. It's sold out where I live at. The nearest location is about over 4 hours away. It's sad no more best buy shopping after next month.
Honestly, I have about a dozen Walmarts within about 40 miles of me, and only about two of them have the steelbook section. At this point, I order on Amazon, as there isn’t much of a choice. All of us collectors are not going to be able to rely on Walmart to come through, and I’d rather save myself the disappointment. It’s sad these stores can’t come through and deliver exclusives and such, but that’s just how it goes with these bigger companies; they just don’t care, and with no competition, it doesn’t bother them.
I’m so sad that the blu ray hunting trips are gonna be coming to an end soon on your channel I like your other videos a lot but this is the main thing I watch and look forward to every Tuesday either way I’m still watching the channel for your other content
Happy New Year to you and your family Susan!!🎊🎉 I hear ya regarding a lackluster selections in the stores today. Waiting on The Holdovers pre-order from Amazon and the only pick up for me today was The Fugitive 4K from Best Buy.
I got The Holdovers bluray in the mail from GRUV today. Definitely sad now that the time has come to say goodbye to physical media at BB. I hope your Walmart gets better! Not even sure what the local one to me has, as I typically order everything online, will have to check it out.
Physical media hunts won't be the same without Best Buy. It was much smaller than before, but at least they still carried Blu-rays, 4Ks and DVDs in their stores and on their website. I hope they reconsider their decision to get rid of movies completely. BTW Happy New Year to you and your family, Susan!
Went to a thrift store got 28 days later and weeks later double feature bluray quite place 1&2 frist man Motherless Brooklyn 7 dollars total Then went to dollar general Gulliver's travel jack black 3.95 Harold and Kumar 3 flim with beer fest collection 6.95
My Walmart has really gone downhill. No more steelbooks and not even one new release in the past few weeks. So much for them picking up the slack from Bestbuy and Target.
The Best Buy movie section was empty all over here as well. 😭😭😭😭😭 I don't understand why they just don't keep up the one main new release display and only carry newer movies and shows that came out. So depressing.
Nothing says Valentine's Day like Scooby Doo and the Jetsons, which were both on the Valentines end cap. Walmart hasn't started picking their game up yet, apparently.
you think Barnes and Noble will be our new location for store pickups? i never really thought about them but it does make sense and id assume they have room. i think they sell Legos too.
Hey. You also need to get The Scorpion King, prequel to the first mummy and it plays in in the mummy returns. It should have been included in that boxset honestly.
My Walmart sucks too. Which for me Walmart is smart shopping because I have an associate discount through my husband. The Walmart app has the steelbooks. Not as much in the store. 😢😢😢 I did pick up Exorcist Believer and Saw X the other day. I collect DVDs . I do have a few blu rays but with a family of 4 and one of my children special needs I get what I can afford. I also ordered WNUF Halloween and The Walking Dead season 11 to complete my collection which I bought off of eBay. WNUF is out of print so I have been searching for that one and finally found it and haggled down the price. ,I am also very disappointed in TWD season 11. No special features just a few deleted scenes. It's like they said screw it it's over...here's your last season and we're.not going to put a lot of effort into it.
Sadly, the real heyday for DVD and physical media in general was around 1997 - 2010. I really don't like "Bust Buy" (or "Worst Buy") dictating what people can buy immediately off their shelves. However, I think at some point stores will begin stocking physical media again.
I gotta say, anyone who predicts that Walmart of all places will pick up the physical media slack from Best Buy is out of their mind. Walmart isn't going to alter their strategy. It'll be crappy third-rate DVD's until the end of time. If distributors decide to grace Walmart with exclusive steelbooks, good luck finding them in-store. You'll definitely have to order them online no different than Amazon.
Walmart has been upping their game with exclusives, but I think most are online exclusives for the most part. I have seen some Walmarts have impressive collections of media but they do default on DVDs more than 4K, so that's frustrating.
@@MoviesSue Wasn't directed at you per say, I've heard a lot of people thinking that Walmart was going to pick up the slack upon the initial news that BB was ending physical media, and that the news was overblown. I knew right away that all those downplaying Best Buy's turn of events were wrong. I hate to break it to physical media enthusiasts but Walmart just ain't it and never will be.
I stopped going to Best Buy a long time ago. Its the way of the dinosaur unfortunately which means physical media will eventually be extinct as far as Best Buy goes. My local Best Buys have eliminated physical media already so moving forward i only buy my blurays from Half Price Books, Target (sometimes) or Amazon I already ordered the Holdovers bluray on Amazon so I'll own it soon
Their prices are terrible at Best Buy. If they're trying to get rid of stock they should be marking those down a heck of a lot more. When Borders closed, they started out marking things down 30%, and then week by week they would add 10%. There was all kinds of people milling about in there, eager to snatch a deal.
Hopefully Best Buy‘s reverses their decision . I can’t see them staying in business without selling movies there’s literally nothing to bring you into the store every week. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought other products because I was in the store shopping for movies. They are definitely going to see this big hit to every thing they sell. (Also to be honest I don’t understand why they are going to stop selling physical movies because they sell really good in my Best Buy‘s now granted I’m in New York City and there’s no Walmart but I noticed people buying movies all the time)

Marsh kings daughter is really good. Take my word for it. Story is really good, tense, and at time frightening
Your Mummy was glad you did not have to use her credit card this week !!! 😂😂😂
It's not like I use her card all the time.
Sad times we are living in, but I have a feeling physical media WILL make a comeback!
I been saying the same thing!
It already is which is why I'm shocked Best Buy hasn't changed their mind. People are waking up to the fact that streaming services can pull your favorites to where they can live in purgatory for who knows how long.
Not really. It would be real sad if we can't buy physical media at all but we still can. Just not from Best Buy.
Based on what? Physical media is on its last legs. At least in physical stores.
It is. People are waking up to how fleeting streaming services are. Stuff gets added and removed constantly and then edited. Best Buy won't survive 2+ years. Nobody is going into Best Buy to buy grills or Funko Pops.
I ordered The Holdovers online. It was my favorite of the year
Amazing blu-ray hunting video with awesome pick-ups. The titles I picked-up were: The Holdovers Blu-ray and Marsh King's Daughter on Blu-ray!
Susan I loved your intro to the Best Buy Song, also I found "The Hold Overs" at Target with a Slip Cover.

The wailiing is a scary movie, i love it. The man from no where is epic, i think it inspired john wick. Its a must buy
*Past lives* has been sold out at my BestBuy since BlackFriday
My Best Buy doesn't have much and my Walmart sucks. So I just order on line and save my gas.

Walmart had some 4Ks and Bluray with new slipcovers
I was very surprised that you didn't consider marsh kings daughter. Since you found it in store. The trailer looks good.
The man from nowhere is a good film! Has both drama and action. Recommended viewing!

I got my hands on a copy of The Holdovers blu-ray at a Barnes and Noble store
The Wailing is so good !! $16 is cheap
Hi Sue, that is a good score for the mummy set. It's good that you got all 3, just cause !! Have a wonderful day/night.
Tuesday's won't be the same without B.R.H.

Not at all!
you think Barnes and Noble will be our new location for store pickups? i never really thought about them but it does make sense and id assume they have room. i think they sell Legos too.
No because they started phasing out Criterions, so I don't see them selling new releases. It's going to mainly be Walmart and Amazon.
Man I need that Young Guns Steelbook and I am yet to see it in stores near me
Haven’t seen Fargo with a slip yet either!

I know how you feel. The Wal-Mart here has no 4Ks but most DVDs.
Because the DVDs sell more then the 4Ks they are the cheaper format so people will buy them
I did not go out because I got eight movies Two weeks ago

don t wurrie , physical media will not go away ,
I got the Mummy also this week for 30 and the last original war of the world's for 12
Best Buy overcharging to make up for sale prices until the very end lol. That Fast Furious was absolutely too much
Why even buy fast in furious when there is one more movie to go then pick up the full collection

Best Buy's situation reminds Me of Circuit City's demise. I'm sure someone will fill the void.
Circuit City went down nationwide as a company. This is just Best Buy's movie section getting wiped out.

Believe me, my Walmart is much worse than yours.
Mine also. It's garbage when it comes to physical media. I hate going to Walmart in general. I leave always feeling like I need a shower.
My Walmart is even worse than yours sadly.
The Holdovers had no likable characters. What a crappy movie.
Seriously? Not sure what movie you were watching.
It definitely feels like “end of days” out here sometimes. Even my local Goodwill stopped selling physical media 🫤
