    Well I’ve seen different more dense applications that also work great . This way let’s too much tension on each one of the strips and results on having some unstick far too early

      I’m an LPN going for my RN. You could apply pressure or even ice (vasoconstriction aka less blood flowing to the area) to stop the bleeding and then apply the steristrips. Cover with gauze and wrap. Soak the gauze and wrap with normal saline or wound spray to remove to avoid making it bleed when taking off.

    I just remove the end piece and place it on one side of the wound, then remove the backing as I pull it gently across to the other side. The three strips are then perfectly lined up. I see no point in doing one at a time or using tweezers. This way is easier and more efficient.

    Is there a negative result from placing a large 1 across/over the wound after applying a few to keep it closed?
    Obviously in real life the wound can continue to bleed and isn't a 3D computer image.
    This video provides no information for how to manage the bleeding etc.
    Overall I would have to say that the video is rather useless and only provides 1 simple step of the instructions for dealing with the wound.
    It would be much more helpful to provide a proper medical video of what to do with the wound from the starting point of it freshly cut and bleeding to the after care of the wound(on a real person, not a graphic or 3D computer model).

    • @mamtadebnath
      @mamtadebnath 6 років тому +3

      I think it is more that you can't always wait to completely stop the bleeding, or you might not have quick clotting supplies. Healing by primary intention really restricts what you can do, as the wound must be bound in the first couple minutes.

    • @chrisg2378
      @chrisg2378 6 років тому +5

      If its a stab wound, there's a chance that it will open up. You can use this to close the wound first to make it more manageable. Then, apply direct pressure. Apply a 5x9 gauze over the wound then wrap it tightly with a conforming gauze.

    • @mamtadebnath
      @mamtadebnath 6 років тому +3

      Because nothing binds well there. You are better off cleaning it with saline then applying a petroleum based antibiotic as a protectant. If you are trying to bind it, well you'll need a suture, basically 6# fishing line or one of those natural dissolving alternatives.

    • @SolventumMedical
      @SolventumMedical  10 місяців тому

      Hello, thank you for your question! 3M™ Steri Strips™ are not like Micropore tape in design or function. They are adhesive skin closures indicated for use as a skin closure device in the treatment of lacerations and surgical incisions. We currently have two different closure devices. 3M™ Steri Strip™ Reinforced Skin Closures are made of porous, nonwoven material that is reinforced with filaments for strength. 3M™ Steri Strip™ Blend Tone Skin Closures are made of porous, nonwoven material
