Steri strips are generally not to be removed to prevent disturbing the healing process and rip off any granulation tissue. It's best to still clean the wound with steri strips in place with soap and water or as directed by your health care professional. In case the edges start to peel, they can be trimmed and eventually they will fall off on their own.

Hi Neethu, the strip will stick if the wound is mildly oozing because most of the strip is sticking to the surrounding skin. The wound and surrounding skin need to be clean and dry before applying the strip. It also helps if you apply Benzoin tincture to the surrounding skin (never the wound itself), then let it dry and place the steri strip on top. This makes the strip stick better and longer. If the wound has bleeding that cannot be controlled or the oozing turns yellow or green, please see a healthcare professional. Hope this helps!

Sorry to hear that. For a large laceration, I would recommend seeing a professional to evaluate if you may need stitches. I hope you feel better soon!
