Just done an oil change on my 2009 gts great video even tho i have been doing my own servicing for years its always great to come across videos like this Thanks for sharing
Seems pretty easy and straight forward with the added bonus of using the air suspension instead of a jack/jack stands. And agree 110% with having a spare drain plug / crush washer on hand at every oil change, especially when they require a hex key vs. a regular bolt.
You should put jackstands or wood blocks at the jacking points. What if the airbags deflate or the car decides to move to the low setting? These systems sometimes have a mind of their own. Low probability, HIGH potential severity. Another tip. Hold the oil jugs on their side when pouring, not "lengthwise". This way they won't "glug". You don't even need funnel.
very true. I like to have a fail safe. I have huge wood blocks I put under mine just in case. manual fail safe. If the German gods don't like you the wood will save you.
There's a way you can lock the system. I think you have to pull the lever and hold for 3 seconds or something.... ua-cam.com/video/ZzL60hckWeM/v-deo.html
Old comment, but from it, I have to wonder: If the cars suspension might collapse at any time, necessitating jack stands , wouldnt that be an issue that would be more prudent to fix first, rather than changing the oil?
Ok great video but you ask 30 torx but the display shows 25 torx, lastly it is Zero - 40 not “O” Besides this how do you loke your Turbo, I hope to be a proud owner of a 2016 958 in 2, (Two) days .
According to Porsche one can use either 5w40 or 0w40 for Cayenne. 0w will be more for very cold part. I know there may not be definitive answer. Any particular reason to choose one vs other?
+Motors, Megabytes, & Mods I may do one on the differential fluid, but the transmission fluid may be too difficult for a diy. As for the fan blower motor, I don't have any issues, so not at the moment. Thanks for watching!
Nice tutorial. My 2008 S is due for change as well . . . need to replace the drain plug this time, where did you buy it? Dealer? Rock Auto don't sell the same plug. Thanks!
Where did you find the torque requirement for that drain plug? And do you know the values for transfer case, differential, and transmission drain and fill plugs?
Most Porsche owner rave about liquid moly oil as it is German! and more suitable for turbo engines. Not not sure how one can tell. Some people talk how engine runs smoothly or less to no oil burn. Have you experimented with liquid moly oil? BTW do you still own cayenne? It must have been now 5 years since you made first cayenne video?
Nice tutorial In my turbo I am using Motul Xcess 8100 5w40 (as recommended by motul for our cars) Would love to see a fluid change for the PDCC and power steering, as mine is due this year (if it is even possible to do it at home, as I think only the dealer can effectively purge the system)

I got an iCarsoft POR-II which has ability to reset service light and can also read codes, retract brake pistons when replacing pads, etc. Seemed like a must have tool so I can do all my own maintenance. www.amazon.com/iCarsoft-Porsche-Multi-systems-POR-II/dp/B011DKBXBK/ref=asc_df_B011DKBXBK/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312094794461&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12148675565186985972&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032541&hvtargid=pla-445348416914&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=62497261819&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=312094794461&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12148675565186985972&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032541&hvtargid=pla-445348416914
Thanks very helpful cherry hill New Jersey Porsche wants to charge me $450 for a oil change For my cayenne me & a friend of mines are going to do it and save me lots of money

Extremely unlikely on this car, the Cayenne is very sensitive to issues with the air suspension so it would warn you if something was wrong.
Another tip in addition to the Jack stands is to put the suspension to lock/service mode., so the system doesn't do any accidental level adjustments.
would it tell you to get out from underneath before getting crushed?

Awesome demonstration! Just want to know: do we need to reset anything on the car computer after the oil change?
Hello, only for information, the 4.5l V8 engines have 2 oil drain plugs! You should also solve the rear, there is also about 1l oil out.
Thanks for pointing that out!
I can't seem to find that 2nd drain plug. Any pointers on where it is? Thanks
Maybe show the covers and their troubles? Loved the video!!
How about the second drain plug?
Hy, in the 9PA Cayenne (4.5 Liter V8) there is a second drain plug a little back up to the rear ...
That's right for your specific model and year.
thanks, you've helped me so much
Nice tutorial. Try a fluid evacuator, like Mightyvac. It drains the oil much better, faster, and it's way cleaner.
They fluid evaluators are not recommended as its a dry sump lubrication system so it's unlikely to get to the bottom of the sumps.
Good video, but I agree with Greg's 100%.... Safety first, Always use jack stands.

Great video! Do you plan on creating videos for changing the differential and transmission fluids, or replacing the fan blower motor?

q2 : how i can know the real level oil engine if the Porsche cayenne turbo s 8v cylinders model 2011 if the stick-oil is not made in engine ?

Do you have a link to oil filter for 2008 base model? The Amazon says this won't fit, but I can't really trust their fitment guide.
Mikaela P call a local parts dealer. Ask which one and how much. Then go buy it from them.
How do you reset the service light warning?

You need to drain both oil plugs
08 only has one

How often do I have to change the oil on a Porsche Cayenne??
Every 10k miles but I do mine every 5k miles. You can find more info here www.ecarguides.com.
minus the plastic pieces its almost the same as changing the oil on a cayman.
Diy porsche oil change. Under 100 bucks (if you already have wrench tools on hand). In a shop. 400+. In porsche shop 900+...
Quick and well done!
Quien me dice cuántos litros de aceite lleva la cayenne 2016
8litr
Nice work. Very well done. Thanks.
After changing the oil it’s still telling me check oil level
What does the dipstick indicate?
It indicated full
Dealer now charges $800.00!
Beverly Hills Porsche charges $720 for an oil change on a Cayenne
I thought American never use metric measurement.
