I didn’t know about this death and him running from the scene until now. If there’s no evidence or witness testimony that incriminates someone then the police likely looked at the post mortem toxicology amongst other things and I’d imagine the results would have swayed the decision to conclude it as an accident particularly for example if there were high levels of class A drugs, alcohol in the persons system. Purely speculation obviously. If you could prove that someone at the scene supplied the drugs for example you could pursue manslaughter maybe. That would be a more plausible route to go down if you were just wanting to nail Docherty for it. In my experience if there’s other people there 99% of the time someone snitches so my guess would be accident and panic due to the drugs being consumed/supplied.
