I don't care what ANYONE says. The Evo was , is and always will be probably the coolest car on this channel. Something about it that makes it the most RAW car you own. Super stoked to have the Evo back in your content.
Makes sense Adam that your compression and leakdown wouldn't catch that rocker. The valve is stuck closed without it so that hole will always checkout. Glad you found this! Let's go break some records now!

To think they would look the best on something red but they did flow very well on the cream car
If you want to accurately measure any variances in the flat ness of the head, you can lay surface ground straight edge, with a known thickness, across the head and then use a depth micrometer to measure down from the straight edge to your head. The difference in measurements will show you how much your head has flexed and warped. I prefer to measure this way because it eliminates the need for a more complex set up that you’d need to dial indicate the surface.
Adam you can put 90 deg cord ends on the end of the plug so it hugs the lift and they can be oriented any direction you want. I’m a licensed electrician. Lemme know if you need me to explain or get you part numbers

The 24k gold Blitz 03's actually look pretty nice on the cream S13. That car is still one of my favorites. Im a big fan of that white Evo V as well

I build a lot of volkswagen and audi 5 cylinder turbo motors. ive never used that indian head compound for a head gasket only for oil gaskets, only ever use that copper coat spray, it works awesome and ive never had a problem in high boost applications.
so excited to see the evo is working again ! cant wait to the tme build aswell

I think the s13 looks super dope with the blitz wheels.. even the gold on tan is not a bad combo...The blitz's would be sick on the S13, I'm not saying they couldn't look better in another color.... like powdercoated white, I think that would be SUPER clean. I can imagine the tan on white Blitz O3's 👌
@Adam lz That cylinder scoring could likely be the piston rings expanding under heat and load. Had a similar issue on an old motor where the ring gaps wasnt enough for a boosted motor.
I don't know what valve springs you have in that EVO head, but if there isn't enough spring pressure for the higher boost that rocker could come off again when you bump it back up. Boost pressure on the back side of the valve can cause the valve to hang slightly after the lobe has rotated away and it would give the rocker room to come off.

MightyCarMods did a video on these motors and the fix for rocker arms not flying out at high RPM/under boost.
They do have a special tool for 4Gs that can compress the spring with leverage off the cam and just slide them in.
Pumped that the evo is sorted! Cant wait for more evo driving content. Also would have been cool to make the blitz wheel gold on the "to the grave" merch haha

This is why you need a drag racer around more often🤣 grab you a coolant pressure sensor and configure it to the ecu and populate it to the dash. It will save time and you will know instantly when the gasket goes.

same thing happend with my turbo s2k but it had like 145k miles on it an experienced alot of heat soak so i think that eventualy makes them snap in engines like these

Just a thought but you could do a compound update sometime after ownership. For example one year later or something like that. I haven't gotten back through and watched all your old footage but I do remember there were several buildings but aren't in any of your videos.

Remember you need a pretty stout size of a hose to supply enough compressed air. The longer you go the bigger the size. Also, Hard lines would look siick
