I can't wait for the GH7. I'm so glad I waited and held off on the G9-II. Having a cooling fan is 100% mandatory for me. I refuse to buy any camera in 2024 that overheats. If I can't shoot a two hour interview reilably?....no way. Cooling fan to no buy. I guess I'm going to sell my GH6 for pennies on the dollar. Oh well,...it was a great camera for me.
The S1 line really needs an update but I don’t think Panasonic hold cameras back to protect others the same way that Sony do it. I think the GH7 is time.
I don't believe Panasonic will release the GH7 with RAW-internal before the S1H-II. It's possible they release a GH7 now because the GH6 can't be sold anymore and they already know how they will add RAW-internal with an update later on. This improved audio thing is interesting and it might be a way to get this field tested before the S1H-II comes out and it would make the GH7 to a little bit more than just the G9-II in the GH6 body. On the other hand, Panasonic is unpredictable. May be the whole June 5th rumor is a dud. May be it's the big one and the S9 was a distraction. Just think about the boss of Panasonic walks out on a stage in LA, the perfect 2 days before cine gear and has two new cameras in his hands and nobody has even an idea what it is.
I'm guessing the GH7 was already 99% complete when the G9-II was created. I suspect that G9-II and GH7 were designed at the same time on the same table together. I'd guess the two cameras share a similar mainboard and third party parts with the GH7 given a cooling fan.
We also had snow…westcoast of Canada and at about 1250m! Only in evening and most disappeared during day. Still hoping for a SMALL m43!! Maybe a m43 version of S9 😊.
LX100 MkIII, GH7 and the released S9. We saw the Leica D-Lux8 and Lumix will follow through Sad they don't understand that all people wants is a GX9 type camera with Phase detection and uncropped 4K.
I still shoot all my UA-cam content with the GH5. Now that phase detect autofocus is introduced to Panasonic m43 I might consider upgrading for a GH7. But honestly I'm seeing other brands doing a great job too and if the GH7 will not convince me, I'll switch to a completely different system.
The new GH7 is a logical next step for m43... Essentially I assume that it will be the same camera only adding the LUT features as well as the phase detect autofocus.. but since the G9 Mark II is the same body size as the new S5 Mark II,, I am of course expecting a micro 4/3 camera that will match the S9 body and battery.. but hopefully with an EVF and a mechanial shutter.
That is not features that swing other brand user to Panasonic. Camera can do 4k 120p with autofocus for years. It just mean Panasonic is catch up in this segment. GH7 needs to do more.
Internal RAW - I hope so. It’s my number 1 requirement, especially for S1H Mk ii. Maybe their new RAW called V-RAW. Why not? If BM can do it, so can LUMIX.
I do really think that Panasonic is working on a new flagship camera using a new cutting-edge MFT sensor. Why? Because Xiaomi seems to be working on a flagship phone using an MFT sensor main camera. I highly assume it will be the same sensor, having around 50 MP (?). Probably made by Sony or Omnivision.
I hope the GH7 would have a sensor crop like the GH5S (like a x1.8 crop), slightly bigger than x2 crop on the gh6 and g9 II. With the new Phase Autofocus in all the recording options. But the most important thing, performs better in low light than the GH6 and G9 II, with at least a Dual Native ISO 400 / 6500 with +15 Dynamic Range + Dynamic Range Booste
The m43 of Panasonic will use the 25Mpx as the G9Ii. They will not design any new sensor as it will not profitable with the small quantities of camera they sold.
@@angeloplayforone yeah! I agree. It's understandable!! I think, Panasonic doesn't want to sell many cameras either. If so, at least, they would create an update [improve] version of the Panasonic Lumix GH5S, and success and best seller Panasonic

It makes sense that Panasonic have to do some announcements pretty soon, even if they cannot deliver their stuff directly. But they need to let all the S9 madness coming to an end quickly, just from a marketing perspective.
@@amermeleitor theres no way BM would allow them to use their Codec. This would destroy their 6K lineup. Proresraw is super unpopular since you cant use it in Davinci witout transcodig. Plus REDs patent is still active.
Let’s hope it is the GH7, but it may be too soon. By releasing the GH7 as flagship will drop the price of G9II, GH6 and GH5 mark II. All this cameras are costing between € 1000 and € 1800. Releasing the GH7, this camera needs to released above € 2000 which is a tough sell where you have to compete with Lumix S5IIx and other Full Frame cameras. For cameras under €1000 Panasonic has 2 models that are old and needs to be upgraded with PDAF. But Panasonic said many times this market segment is not profitable.
Why would it drop the price of the G9ii? It may drop a tiny bit because the GH7 is newer and can also be used for photos. But GH7 wouldn't deter me at all from the G9ii because I'm more into photography. Unless it had something crazy like even MORE photo options than G9ii which wouldn't make sense. That being said I'm all in favor of dropping the price on the G9ii. 🙂
Based on the S9, I do not think Lumix will release any rangefinder style cameras except in M4/3rds. I base this on the fact that they have a joint L mount strategy with Leica and any Lumix that is L mount and in a similar body to a Leica with similar specs could take sales from Leica. I think that explains the truncated S9. No one would buy it over any Leica. I suspect there will be an upgraded GH7 and a M4/3rds replacement to the GX80/85 with the sensor from the G9ii and phase detect AF in both, but with the GX80/85 replacement limited as to other specs so a not to conflict with the GH and G specs. That's what I'm hoping, as I'd rather have an ILC small body than an updated LX100, which I already own and love. Lumix needs to have bodies that move lenses as a business model.
Nobody knows what the new camera will be. M43 is my guess. PDAF as DFD is dead. I am not interested in a GH body. I want a small body M43 like the GX8/9. More likely LX100iii. Less likely M43 sensored S9 body. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
If you mean focus pulsing typical for contrast focusing, that is solved with phase detection focusing on newer Lumix cameras. So that is definitely FIXED with GH7.
