Hello, thanks for sharing how you use violet. Letting the leaves set a day before infusion made sense.
As for the ice cream I thought the end result of violets throughout was pretty. I would have made a violet ripple using a very thick violet syrup. After making vanilla ice cream and drizzle on top or slowly stirring it through soft ice cream( maybe with a skewer)
For loose tea I use a glass tea pot that looks like a cup sold by Golden Moon Tea. It has a strainer at the top. After steeping I just pour out the tea. No bag, no metal, easier than a tea ball.

A bit off subject, just thinking if you are at that location for the long haul that big wall behind looks like the perfect location for espaliered fruit trees.

I’ve thought that, too! I do have a blackberry bush planted right in the centre though and it’s been spreading out, but I completely agree.

I use raw honey and dont want to heat the honey since it ruins the structure. Kills the good stuff i believe.

Does the oil keep the violet fragrance?

No, not really. Violets have such a sweet and subtle fragrance that it gets lost in the oil.
