I never knew Scotland looks so much like many parts of Canada. The scenery brings back memories of my childhood in Ontario. I envy you for still having the spine, shoulders, neck and knees for making this wonderful video. God bless.
I just watched that long flowing trail from almost as high as it gets there. What a ride! That huge boulder your buddies climbed on was very cool too. A reminder of the glaciers that cut it all. Amazing!
Hi Andy great looking trails in a beautiful part of the world , again very jealous , wishing I had these trails in my back yard , looks like the bike is riding good 👍👍
Absolutely mint, nice one... felt slightly anxious for the dude in blue without knee pads, all those steps. That slab you dropped in on at the beginning looks awesome, you made it look typically easy and I’m sure it not
Haha class! Guys looking at the rock face thinking, should we, I dunno like? "Alright" Bunny hops onto it! 😂 Rock is not as bad as it seems, done it before. Great video again man! Love watching your vids!
I was planning on going next week do e the dark side of glentress today got lost in a few fire roads but good fun all in all get a ride with you one day man
I know from experience the hero 8 doesn't do descents justice but that looked seriously steep in places on camera so must have been SERIOUSLY STEEP in the flesh! Awesome ride and video :)
Definitely a couple of step sections for sure. I actually filmed all this on the Insta360 One R as I feel it shows steepness better. You may have just confirmed that for me👍
Hi Andy, nice one mate, another great vid! That was pleasant surprise, I haven't rode Lagan wolftrax since 2006, about a year after it opened. It looks like it's changed alot since then, i didn't recognize much tbh, other than Air's rock of course. I think there was only three official trails back then, One Blue, one red, Air's Rock as the start of the double black diamond. We went just to ride the double black, which at the time, was regarded by some, as the tuffest narlyest official man made mtb trails in uk! All named features like the aptly named 2 ton drop. back, sack and crack attack, stiletto staircase and the devil's chessboard. And absolutely no chicken runs! It's looking great now though, and I'm really liking the look of the terrain on the other side!👌 Definitely worth another visit! thanks for the insight mate👊
The lower red section has changed a good bit over the years, you may be thinking of the other red trail which is quite different in nature 🤔 The rest is fairly unchanged. The black certainly is a tough one, that’s for sure.
@@McTrailRider Hi Andy, Yes, yr right. sorry, I'd got things mixed up lol. I reviewed the vid in more detail, and recognised quite a bit more. I've also managed to find the original Laggan wolftrax leaflet with all details and trail map from 2005. I guess it's all weathered and matured alot since my visit in 06. looks great fun, set in a beautiful landscape. It's definitely on my bucket list! I also really like the look of the last trail you rode, is that an official trail, or abit secret?
Your absolutely right. It’s been so long since I bought new Hope brakes that I forgot that they come with organic pads. I’ve been replacing with sintered every time before though, add on the long descent the organics fade with heat.
Good day out on the trails with the lads YEEEW! Also, I wouldn't be surprised if, Shaz was deliberately falling off his bike to get a mouthful of dirt, I don't blame him that loam looks edible Mmmm aha
I’m up in the highlands in October, we are staying near Newtonmoore, I’m a low intermediate rider, would you recommend Lagan, or is it for the more technical rider?
Well I got up on Sunday it was very very wet had a look at the rock slide and changed my mind loved the place will go back up in the summer when it’s dry
@@McTrailRider Perfect, thanks. If I can be so bold as to ask for a future feature? A wee graphic overlay to say which trail you're riding on would be really useful for searching out the trails to ride. If you ever make it to Ballo, give me a shout!
I'm about to replace my Tektro hydraulic two piston brake pads.. I want the best grip, low noise and I don't care how fast they wear because I ride xc and road, never any downhill so wear is a nominal factor. What should I be looking at? brand, organic, organic-ceramic, resin... I'll take any and all suggestions.
I’d recommend Shimano Deore’s or similar, very cheap and pretty reliable. Organic pads are quieter but heat up quicker. Should be fine for your intended use.
@@McTrailRider Thanks for the information on the shop recommendation. I Was planning a trip to the UK to do some riding till covid hit, going to put it off till next summer. But i appreciate the info.

“Your chains off” ...doesn’t even stop just keeps going 😂
Worth a try 😂
Another great video - You picked the right day for Laggan!
Worked out pretty well 👍
I just watched that long flowing trail from almost as high as it gets there. What a ride! That huge boulder your buddies climbed on was very cool too. A reminder of the glaciers that cut it all. Amazing!
That was a good one 👌 Your can definitely see the effects of the glaciers up that way.
Hi Andy great looking trails in a beautiful part of the world , again very jealous , wishing I had these trails in my back yard , looks like the bike is riding good 👍👍
We really are spoilt for choice up here 😊 The bike is superb, just gets better and better 👌
Amazing trail, would love to hit that some day!
Add it to the to do list 👍
Your videos make me wanna move to Scotland! :)
And so they should 😜
You sir make things look easy. Just back from laggan today. Seems I need to carry more speed
Those trails look amazing.
There not too bad👍
Love these sort of trails.
Me too
Awesome as always Andrew!🤙Thanks Highlander😻 Stay well brother... Best to you and yours from us in Loveland,Colorado✌
That looks like such a fun place to ride, can’t wait to try it out!
Thanks very much Kevin 😊
what a beautiful trail !
Yep 👌
Those trails look great!
Very good for trail centre trails, that’s for sure 👍

I do cringe when I see people without knee pads too 😬
What a cracking video. Keep it up
Thanks Mark

Get it done 👍💪

I little bit of showing off on my part 😬 The Rick is very straight forward, but also very intimidating too.
It always intimidated me into riding round it 😂 Must try harder next chance I get to visit with my bike
You seem so in control, good effort
It’s just an illusion 😜
@@McTrailRider sped up footage confirmed, have you ever been to Dalgety Bay trails?
Ross Taylor I haven’t been no, do you recommend them?
@@McTrailRider It's compact but each trail is mega fun, you have a pro line with 30ft gaps and a 12ft drop to finish, I live there so it's my local.
Great looking trails. Some serious tech in there, which you just casually roll over. 😂💪👍🤙
I know the trail pretty well to be fair though 👍
Your riding is on point at the moment. I won't lie, some of this footage scared me!!!
GoPro makes things look faster than they are to be fair though 👍

Can’t go too far wrong at Glentress, never too far away from a good trail no matter what way you go 👍
Love Laggan black. Hope brakes, so nice to look at, British made and every part available but that squeal even in the dry drove me nuts.
I don’t mind the noise in the real world, but the GoPro dies pick it up quite bad and that’s not great for the videos 😳
Yass shout out to shaz
Bonus points for going over the bars!
It’s the Corrieyairack Pass that links Laggan to Ft Augustus...doing it tomorrow from Inverness to Ft, Laggan, Aviemore and home. On my 29er though 🤪
I did that on a rigid orange C16r 20 years ago. fun day out
Ooft! That sounds like a hell of a lot of hard work😬 Rather you than me 😜

You make it look so easy on film.🤣
I’ve fallen for the GoPro effect before, it’s definitely harder in real life 😬
@@McTrailRider yeah I'm sure it is🤣, still would love to go to Laggan for a ride.
Awesome looking place and nice weather bonus, hows the new bike riding? Beautiful looking bike 🚲 😍 👌
Very much loving the bike more and more. It really can do it all 👍
Hope brakes normally come with organic pads mine did. You might have to check them they have the red backing plates.
Your absolutely right. It’s been so long since I bought new Hope brakes that I forgot that they come with organic pads. I’ve been replacing with sintered every time before though, add on the long descent the organics fade with heat.
McTrail Rider try some other pads like race matrix from uberbike components or even there ebike specific ones. if your wanting more brake power
woduk I’ve not had any issues with the Hope sintered pads, but always worth trying different setups 👍
It's a pretty tiring one the old Laggan black... so much chunk!
It's a bit relentless right enough, I raced it in an enduro and that was quite the test🤪
Great stuff as usual....but that looks like a superb place. "Shitting pants", indeed.
Nice quote 😜
Going riding there next week. What trail were you riding at 10:40? It looks great!
10:40 is “honey monster”

I thin the camera settings may have been a it off in this video, it seemed a little blurry.
Perhaps UA-cam compression, the original file is sharp.

Looking for high end bike shop in Scotland to buy a bike. Don't want to drag my from Canada. Can you recommend a good shop or two?
We have a few good ones, depends on what bike your after though. My favourite bike so so far has been www.cyclehighlands.com/ in Ballater.

Well worth a visit. Unless it’s really hot or wet, I try not to wear gloves.
What bike you riding?
This one here

That wall at 13:19 is a shelter so that you can rest out of the wind on the top of the hill 👍
Upon checking google once I got home, it turns out it is an old Pictish fort with a couple of outposts added in at a later date.

Any hazards!? It's mountain biking!!
