    This town is sadly turning into a California city. Crime, pollution and traffic are all on the rise. It's a damn shame. This was a great place to live at one time.

      I grew up here and my family has lived in southern Utah for over 100 years. I don’t like all of the changes. We don’t have enough water for the growth we are seeing.

    Great places to visit. You can climb on a rock, you can go the “the” library, you can hike or ride a bike on trails, yay, you can go to a super market…get 2…. A great place in the boonies…

    For all the times I've been to St. George (a sister lives there) it never struck me as having a downtown, just the older parts of the city with stores, some government buildings, and the campus. I guess compared to the suburban sprawl of the past few decades, that's "downtown" by default.

    I currently live in Summerlin in NV and have been in love with St George for at least a decade (going there as often as I can on weekends and holidays). I've stayed in my area because of the convenience (everything is here, professional conferences are held in Vegas, easy and fast to get to the airport and travel anywhere else). In the last year or so, I have been more concerned with my quality of life (I had a bout with cancer that I seem to be on the other side of). I still think about moving to St George or the surrounding area, but how is medical care?

    • @malissakelsch
      @malissakelsch  Рік тому +1

      Glad to hear your beating cancer. Stay strong. Medical here is great. I've been told that we have one of the best services for the price in the nation. Many doctors and specialists have moved here because of the climate and this is where they want to retire. What particular areas are of interest to you?

    Isn't it kinda California style foolish having all that green space with the water situation being what it is there? The Virgin river is the ONLY source of water. If it dries up, that's it. It's not a big river and severely limits the amount of growth that area can endure.

    • @malissakelsch

      Thank you for watching. We do have other water sources of water. Virgin river is one of the main sources. Some communities have their own well and water. We do live in the desert and are one of the fastest towns for growth in the nation. We all have to be smart about our water.
