As someone who has always kind of shyed away from God thinking somehow I was not good enough to learn about Him and His word, your videos have had such an impact on my yearning to learn. I got a bible journal and read the first few chapters and it was not making sense to me. I was almost upset bc I was taking it word for word. Wow was this good! I was saved 19 years ago. I was going to church, singing in the choir, going to Christian concerts but not reading my Bible everyday. It wasn't until my sister got saved this year and went straight to her Bible every day that I followed suit. I know I was saved because I remember the moment it was very profound. But I was missing out on so much! Reading the Bible everyday is your sword in life! It was so transforming for me. I almost feel embarrassed to say that I wasn't in my Bible. I was caught up in the busyness of life running my business. My job situation has changed for the better and I have more flexibility in my schedule. I thank God everyday for that change that I made. I think of all the things that God could have used me for. But like you said God is so patient and he waits for you to come to your senses LOL! I'm just glad that I made the decision to get serious about reading my Bible it is definitely life-altering!

The book Epic of Eden by Sandra L. Richter would be helpful to read to understand why Abram brought Lot. It’s my favorite book I’ve read so far- Highly recommend!! It was recommended originally from Pricilla Shirer at one of her talks.

So I read that because Job mentioned Noah and Adam, but no mention of Abraham or any of his decedents it is thought that this book is written before their time. Which will make sense for the chronological order
Can you help me find where it is that you found Abram was 50 yrs when he was called. I see that he was 75 yrs when he left Haran. Thanks!
It doesn’t implicitly state it in the Bible, although in earlier translations it said God “had” said, which implies that he called him earlier. It spoke of his approximate age of 50 in the Jon Courson commentary. I also read of approximations being made around 70, based on Jewish records. If you find otherwise, please let me know!

This is what the David Guzik commentary says in my e-Sword X app: "Now the LORD had said to Abram: In Act 7:2-4, God revealed through Stephen that this promise was made to Abram when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran. Gen 12:1-3 repeats a promise that God had said to Abram. God repeated the promise now that his father was dead and Abram was compelled to a more complete obedience." So clearly looking at verb tenses can be a clue to look deeper, which should have been my automatic thought since I am an editor! However, my ESV does not say "had said," so that wouldn't have tipped me off. My NIV and Amplified do, but I didn't notice it the first time I read this in NIV. But this is why we need more than one translation when studying.
Okay so I stopped the video when you started talking about Tithing(10%). I was married to the church I attended. Meaning I was so dedicated in every way. I was even made Leader for a group called Parents Who Have Lost A Child. I taught Sunday school for 3&4 year old's. I was told by a pastor & a higher leader that I needed to give my 10% or step down. I have little money but gave my time for the Lord(I gave my all). I stepped down & left the church. I pray I made the right choice after I hear what you have to say about Tithing. God Bless

I feel like it was disobedient or a mistake for him to leave out the birds (as evidenced by the vultures that came down to devour them) but I can’t figure out why he did it.
Vegas is fun! We are not gamblers and we live outside the strip, so I don’t really feel like I live here.

Do you think it’s possible that the saying the only way is through Jesus means yes believing that he lived but also through simply living in alignment with his teachings? Where do we get this whole idea of I need to ask Jesus in my heart or I will go to hell idea?

Scholars have, over the years, concluded this based on the land that was promised, (“…from the Negev wilderness in the south to the Lebanon mountains in the north, from the Euphrates River in the east to the Mediterranean Sea in the west, including all the land of the Hittites” (Joshua 1:4, NLT).) to what land they actually ended up possessing.
