Oh yes. My variegated micans both reverted. Chop didn't help. It's super unstable, which is probably why we haven't seen a pot of it yet.
It's also interesting that it's not in tc. It's always just sold as cuttings whereas the melanochrysum variegated is in tc. I bet the melano is stable and the micans is a teeny bit of a scam.
Ugh so annoying and sad since I love it so 😭 hopefully there will be a more stable version available one day. I love the look of the variegated melano, since it’s similar, but I’m scared to try growing that plant again hahah 😅

Heh heh….so my first moss pole project was crooked. My Giganticus needed the repot anyway. The pole is no longer crooked. Thanks for the inspiration ❤️
I just up-potted my Epi marble king. I started with three cuttings back in April and they are all doing well! I agree with them being slow, but it is worth the wait! Such beautiful variegation. ETA: Mine is fine in ambient, but it is near my humidifier. I did put it on my heat mat for a while when I transitioned it from moss to aroid mix, but that might not have even been necessary. It continued to root like a champ and needed a bigger pot within a couple of months. Surprisingly easy plant!
I got 2 starter vines of Philo micans aurea last week. The seller was kind enough to include one as a gift since she was worried the one I purchased was giving all variegated leaves in the new growth. Fingers crossed they both survive, I'm still rooting them in moss with perlite. One of them has really good roots and two leaves with a third emerging that looks like balanced variegation. I think I'm going to need to chop the other one if the next leaf doesn't have any green, it also hasn't grown much of a root system yet. The variegation is stunning, yours looks so healthy! I hope you have good luck with your chop this time!

My Epi Marble is so jealous of yours 😂 mine is weirdly throwing out a plain green leaf every other leaf and it's not even like the variegated leaves are halfmoon or anything. It's just a funky little plant

Thats why i wont buy the varigated micans. Ive seen people say they revert. I might buy one once prices comedown or something because i LOVE the regular micans.

Sorry to hear your Anthurium imports are struggling. I've found stratum really does work for re-rooting. I mix mine with some perlite as it makes it go further and helps with airflow. I've saved plants I was positive wouldn't make it with stratum.
Oh that’s such a great idea. I’ve always resisted buying it, but you’re right it would be a good idea for these guys!
totally feel ya. I've been chopping back my variegated micans and it doesn't help. I am left with nothing else to chop. So sad...

I have all my plants in Molly’s/Tree fern and they love it. Yours will thrive just takes them awhile I have one that is soooo slow I just have to be patient. 😂
Another great video. Always relax watching and listening to you. Found a begonia fern bipinnatifida at Home Depot. Had never seen one but they are beautiful. Unfortunately drier than a bone. Hard dry. Vines laying flat. I ask clerk if she could discount them( they were $16.98 each) She let me take two for $5. Left them in water overnight and they popped right back up. Googled said they were rare and kind of hard to keep but I’m gonna try. Look them up, you will love them! Thx for video ❤

The variegated micans need so much light! I'm giving mine between 800 and 1000 foot candles😅 definitely don't miss watering either. The higher variegated leaves wither easier lol

I have never had luck with an epi pinatum albo. I always have leaf melt or something that just takes it down so fast. I have a single wetstick propogating right now but it is on my do not buy again list haha
Sorry about your rotting anthurium! Hydrogen peroxide w water and spray bottle helps keep the rot away!

I almost ditched my pink princess philodendron due to lack of variegation. I’m so glad I didn’t. As it matured it became more variegated. I don’t know if it was just a fluke or if plants have more variegation as they mature. Any thoughts?

I cannot seem to keep vining philodendrons from dropping all of their leaves. Multiple different micans plants are bare stem, variegated heart leaf... just a couple of leaves left.. no idea what is happening to them 😢

Question on the Super Thrive water - I have seen in previous videos you have like a big pre-made bucket of this water that you use (or so it seems). I went to do this but, the bottle says to use within 24hrs. Do you indeed do this and make a batch that you keep for longer than a day? Does it still work/keep ok? Or ruin your plants at all? Thank you!! 🖤
I still use it, it definitely doesn't hurt my plants. I think it probably just becomes less effective, but I still like to use it up anyways hahah.

I don’t think you need to remove all the moss from the roots
you definitely don’t have to completely remove the moss because you’ll probably damage the roots if you try lol but if you leave too much you risk rotting them
I like to remove most of it and I’ve always had good luck :)

Mosquito dunks in my watering can! Works great.

It says that this really isn’t about you, it’s about the plants, you have people highlighting their faces over what they’re doing, they’re making it about themselves, I’m not a fan, I’m don’t care if your makeup or hair is perfect, that doesn’t make me want to watch more vids, I wanna see what peeps are working on, ya know? That’s just my own opinion
