Guyz!! I had medical instruments phobia. Needle one was the most! I have blood phobia too but for past 3 days, i am watching a kdrama which has neurosurgries and I have seen blood! I have seen this video of injunction two. Initially, it was so uncomfortable and horrific. I started sweating and every time i see needle or any medical instruments, my blood pressure drops and i start sweating and worst case is I bowl and faint!. While watching this i sweated and started feeling pain in my legs (i usually get pains for this), i started feeling dizzy, but i calmed myself down. After watching this, today i feel nothing! Tho a little sweating but its ok! My heart beat was normal, my body didnt feel pain. I watched it! I overcame my phobia! Not completely but defn i overcame it!! I am so happy. I am medical aspirant so i had to overcome it. Thanks. Even you can overcome it. All the best everyone!!
I did blood test yesterday due of my work. As a needle phobic I will share my experience, maybe this will help someone I was needle phobic for over 15y due of my childhood trauma in hospital. I was afraid getting blood tests, IVs or vaccinations. And because of that I ignored mandatory medical procedures. But now I am basically free from needle phobia (I am still bit scared, ca 10%) VACCINATIONS/GETTING SHOTS: Pain level 2/10 For those who are afraid getting shot I want to encourage you. Nowdays needles are so thin sharp that your body aint gonna feel almost nothing. When I got the covid vaccines, during the injection I felt like someone was holding a pencil point on my arm and I didn't feel the needle go in or the sting. I asked the nurse when you're going to prick me, and she said it's already done. The only thing that hurts is the pain after the injection, but it depends on the vaccine BLOOD TEST: Pain level 4,5/10 For those who are afraid getting blood test, I want to encourage you. If you are so afraid then 1)dont look 2)distract yourself (pinch yourself on the lip and focus on that) 3)relax your arms (stiff arm makes blood test more painful). The needle was so sharp that I didn't feel anything, but the sting stung because the hand was cleaned with an alcohol cloth beforehand. And when the nurse collected blood, the stinging disappeared. What made it unpleasant was that I felt that the needle was in the vein, but it is not painful, rather unpleasant. But the time passed quickly and the hand did not hurt after that. Thanks to sharp needles and professional medical personel my fear of needles dissapeared last year. Before I end my speech I want to share quote which is 100% true FEAR COMES ALWAYS BEFORE OR AFTER THE SITUATION. DURING THE MOMENT THE FEAR DISSAPEARS
I went for a blood test yesterday. I was terrified. The pain was 0/10. I literally felt nothing. I am so grateful because after this comment I prepared myself that there will be pain. And I'm not exaggerating. I literally felt nothing, I couldn't believe it was done. 😅
So many people do not understand needle phobia. I’m someone who unless I have taken my prescribed sedative, I scream involuntarily. My legs are weak and almost can’t even take me to the appointment. There was only one time I needed an injection that I didn’t know was part of testing and I wasn’t properly prepared. I screamed, and people ran in. Nobody understood. It goes so far beyond just not liking needles. I can also seem calm like this man, but it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to. Even with my prescribed sedative, I get that rush of panic trying to peek through as soon as I sit on the chair. The truth is, nothing feels better and so freeing than the moment they take that band off, and then the needle comes out and you’re done. Go get yourself an ice cream or a nice warm bagel- something you like for after. It will taste so good, and you’ll have the best rest of your day. Also, some people give needles in a way that you cannot even feel it. Get their names and request them every time. I haven’t done this unfortunately, so I hope to find that skilled person again. Literally have not felt the needle. And only one person who did it made it hurt. Never go back to those people, it’s not supposed to hurt like an ache at all. Finding someone you trust I think can make it easier as well. Like going to the dentist- you might request the same hygienist or dentist. Also the doctor, like how we choose a doctor. Look at it as finding that person you’re comfortable with if possible.
For a needle-phobe, even the thought of having to do this is terror-inducing and nauseating. I would make it till putting my arm on the table before fainting.
I went yesterday to get a blood test. I was terrified. I wanted to prepare myself, so I watched this video and many others. It was reasonable to me that there will be pain, maybe just a little bit, but I would feel it. Also, it wasn't so much about pain but the whole process. I went to the laboratory set on the chair, and I explained my problem. The nurse just told me It doesn't hurt, just don't look, and that's it. Guys, I can't explain with words how I haven't felt a thing literally. She just applied some alcohol at first, and then she said It's over. That was all I felt. So I'm not scared anymore, I really can't believe that it is even possible not to feel anything, but it happened to me. So don't be scared of blood tests, at least. 😊
@ yesss it did! The insertion of the needle was painful it felt sharp, and I had my eyes fully shut bc they kept the needle in my arm for like 1 minute💀😭😭
@@YouShallNeverKnowMe I am glad to hear that you got trough it! ..but 1 minute😳 It shoun't take that long if the physician or nurse did it correct😞 ..And, yeah I don't look either when they make the test😓
My fear is an almost animalistic instinctual thing. It's like I can feel the very slight change in blood pressure in one of my extremities, and my monkey brain shuts down to stop the flow of blood. The ease with which the blood flows is very nauseating as well.
I wish i could even have a chance to try calm myself for it but at my GP they are literally always in a hurry so they have no time for the fact that im hyperventilating and might pass out.
I have to get a needle aspiration in an awkward spot on thursday. I'm scared and sitting here crying. I feel misunderstood and all my parents are doing is yelling at me to toughen up. I don't know what to do, I'm scared.
People have no idea. When I ask nurses to use a vien in my arm that's not painful they usually want to choose another vien which never works. Then they wander why I'm not co operating
On July 31st of 2024, I had my blood drawn for the first time in 11 to 14 years. I had just turned 18 in August, and I felt so proud of myself for not beating my intense needle phobia not once, not twice, not even three times. But I had it done 4 times. Twice in July, Twice in september

I was supposed to have blood tests done today but I run out of the room 😢 I'm feeling bad about my self 😢😢😢
How about for plasma?

i always hyperventilate when someone gets a shot from a needle, im uncontrollably afraid of needles
Blood draws are way worse imo, I can feel the needle the whole time 😮
Don't feel bad. I'm a military veteran (U.S. Army), and even though I've experienced a bit of combat, I'm still ridiculously afraid of needles.

@KasperAnd132 I went for a blood test yesterday. And I literally felt nothing, not sharp pain not even a pressure. It was over in 10 seconds.

I HATE the concept of a foreign object entering my body and tampering with my blood

There's no way of getting around needle phobias. In the hand they are especially painful.
Let's just rename it....fear of pain of needles.
I also think it depends on the nurse taking the injection
Wow that doctor/nurse is a professional. That didn't even look painful at all.
Great video, thank you so much.

It depends how professional the person doing the needle is. Full stop.
Bro do NOT have any needle phonia 😂😂😂
I watched the whole video, I need to use to it until it goes.
Awesome thank you
