However, over the past few years, things have changed dramatically. Morgz' viewership has fallen from over 100 million per month to around 5 million per month, creating a question of "what on earth happened?"

That's a really big achievement for a 13-14 year old, and him wanting to celebrate it with his mom is pretty wholesome.
Used to hate Morgz. But what he’s done is insanely brave, he knew it would probably nuke his career but stuck with his guns and decided to be himself. It's a shame that it didn’t work out for him.
He decided to grow up. Honestly, that's a lot better than other UA-camrs similar to him, like Jake Paul.
You know what, seeing how he changed at the end? I can kind of respect that he decided not to hide behind the mask anymore and be done pretending. Admitting what he'd done wrong in the past helped quite a bit too. I can respect where he ended up.
Honestly, for where he's at now 5 mill views still isn't bad. That's more than most UA-camrs get, and he's at a point in his career where he doesn't have to worry about money. 5 mill views will still get him a solid chunk of change.

Really does feel like he just got to caught up on UA-cam feeling an excessive need to prove himself (which a lot of UA-camr experience) and possibly even feeling the need to grow his channel as fast as possible to make it sustainable/profitable enough to do UA-cam for the rest of his live after having dropped out.
After watching this video it very much feels like his actions were misguided and not mean spirited.
He made mistakes but he learned from them and is now a much better person for it.

Thanks for keeping me in the loop, Sunny. I'm in my mid 30's and only started watching/paying attention to UA-cam content around 2019, so I missed a lot.
This is actually eye opening for me. The “Morgz” style video irritates me a lot, but seeing the actual person behind it that actually has a relatable personality opens my eyes a bit. I hope all these hype/fake personalities can get to this point of wanting to just be themselves.

This guy. I respect him a lot. He could have kept up the persona but it would have taken a toll on him mentally and emotionally and UA-cam really isn't worth risking those things. I think he did the right thing in wanting to mature and just be himself in his videos. As well as being honest about his experiences and the things he's done on UA-cam. It would be nice if more UA-camrs were like him. It would certainly make for less annoying people on the platform.
Damn, seeing him behind the scenes really changes a whole lot. He seems a lot more mature than I wouldve guessed, im glad he was able to take it all on the chin and just start being more authentic
This is one of the few UA-camr stories that actually has a happy ending, it's honestly so nice and humbling to see him really change himself for the best. And him having to make the sacrifice to lose his audience in order to become his true self is such a great recovery story. I'm really shocked to say this, but I'm really happy and proud of him

And honestly good for him. He's doing what he wants now and no longer has to pander to an audience by making content he doesn't enjoy. I'd rather see a UA-camr have a "dead channel" because they've happily moved on with their life, than continue a channel they have no passion for and only making content because they feel like they have to.

Seeing all these videos on fallen creators makes me gain so much more respect for the Sidemen. Like those guys were just always themselves, a group of friends having fun making videos together. And they were able to read the room, see that the content needed to evolve, and work together to create something that new young audiences enjoy and the older audience is still hyped for. Also makes me think about ishowspeed and how he will progress from where he is now. Perhaps the fastest ever progression from 100k to 11mil subs. We have no idea if his personality/ character on camera is really him or him acting for the content creation.
I really respect this guy for admitting his mistakes & deciding to do what makes him feel like himself. He was just a kid his mistakes were nowhere near unforgivable & i think he handled the hate better than most young creators have.

Well it seems that after several years Morgz actually managed to turn back, which is great
Morgz was publicly dogpiled and hated by every commentary UA-camr ever for his entire adolescence and laughed it all off, then proceeded to simply grow up and be a man about it. Meanwhile 90% of adults on the web don't know how to not lose their shit over a single impolite comment from a random account with no pfp. In retrospect I think he made fools of them all.

It’s sad because he used to be one of my favourite channels up to when I was 5-6. Growing up isn’t a bad thing but I miss the old times.
Sometimes the worst thing for an artist is success. Once you gain a reputation or fanbase for one vein of work in particular, you can lose yourself in what you create. I'm glad he had the sense to get out when he did, and I hope that he can find stability in whatever he puts his mind to.

I love seeing UA-camrs grow. You put all this time and effort into something you enjoy and love. The only reason I would agree with someone completely losing subscribers on their channel is if they done something pretty bad. I found Morgz kinda annoying in the past, but I never hated on him cos that's not fair on him. I feel like he's matured greatly as a person, and I can see that in his more recent videos.

Overall I feel it’s somewhat admirable of morgz to decide not to continue paper chasing, be happy with the success he has already had, and make content he is proud of, he surprised me and most others giving us a video in this series that is not depressing
The only people I've seen not take a hit while doing what he did gradually "grow up" with their audience content wise rather than doing a hard transition, but since he was young himself its really hard to cynically decide to do that. I respect what he ended up doing a lot though.

I actually found what he did as respectable. I think the peace of mind he gained by being himself is worth more than the million views he lost. So many youtubers got destroyed mentally cause they kept on using their fake personas just to please the fans. This is like losing fake friends and having your real friends stay because they like who you are. I hope he gets more people that prefer him being real than being a bullshayter.

When 5 million per month is considered a low, you know you have a looooong way to go.
Its actually more wholesome than i thought it would be. He didnt get bullied off the internet, he didnt get cancelled, he didnt drive his channel into the ground, he just grew up. I didnt really respect him while he was making his clickbait videos, but i definately respect his decision to leave his over-exaggerated persona behind.

I think his hate was unearned. He didn’t hurt anyone (maybe himself for dropping out of school but even that’s debatable if he was smart with the money).
From what I've heard he still got his GCSEs so dropping out doesn't even hurt him at all. He only misses out of a two year A Level qualification and any University degree.
Dropping out of school was the best decision he's ever made. He mentioned that he never resonated with the material taught and now he's retired young with millions. Sometimes the unconventional way turns out to be the right way with enough luck and the right circumstances.

You know he kinda won in this whole thing. He did UA-cam for a few years, made a name for himself and didn’t care about what people thought and made enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his life.

what you need to understand is that
1. youtube isn't a stable platform, if it goes under or your videos don't do well you could go broke, and you'd have no high school/college degree to fall back on to get another job, and
2. he didn't enjoy making videos the way he was doing them, at least once he got older and more mature.

One thing to remember is the decline in his Channel might not be such a bad thing. He clearly realized views were dropping and instead of trying to find what works again he decided what's best for him is to be transparent with his viewers. I can almost assure you he would be happier now than at his peak because he isn't fighting internally with the fake vids and persona. Good for him.

The thing with Morgz is that.. he grew up. He took it like a man, and though i never enjoyed or watched his style of content. I do have to give them man some credit. I honestly respect him especially for how legit and grown-up he acted when he admitted to copying Mr.Beast, and the fact he didn't feel like the over-energetic persona was really him made sense, as the older you get, the less you feel so energetic like a kid. Again, he might have not been the greatest UA-camr ever, but mad respects for him.

Hot take: He is right about Mr.Beast. Jimmy uses the word "inspired" when it is his and calls it "copied" when it is others against his content. Jimmy is aware of this but there is no need to bounce around the reality is that the vast majority of UA-camrs steal or are "inspired" with each others' format and content and that is widely known to be fine and commonplace. Nothing against Jimmy but I don't like when people punch down in general and especially when a lot of his source ideas already came from UA-camrs. Mr.Beast isn't the pioneer of but is known for: Orbeez content, buying/making giant food items, buying expensive cars for friends suddenly, friend challenges, celebrity appearances, substantial giveaways, and movie-adaptation related content to say a few. He gets put on this pedestal for being the largest but his content is heavily "inspired" by the rest of the smaller community. That is what is irritating. Do what you do but don't punch down.

I was expecting to hate this kid more and more but it actually turned into a redemption story. Good on him for finally being himself.
He has achieved financial freedom, something that not everyone can achieve in their lifetime and for that he's already won.
Can't gain financial freedom if you don't have a steady flow of income. If he continues his lifestyle now and doesn't start something new like a new buisness or owning some houses to rent out. he will be working again by the time he's 40. Being a "millionaire" isn't financial freedom anymore for peopleike him it just extended his vacation time.

Given these circumstances he's almost certainly made $10+ million off of ad revenue alone, if he invests it right him and his whole family are set for life.

People can retire on $5m. But people need to also realise you can’t live a lifestyle like a multimillionaire every single day if you want it to last. With $5m, you can live off $125k a year for 40 years without working. But, you can indeed invest it, gain interest etc and be comfortable.
I retired at 23, I have financial freedom. My wife who is 24, started dating me at 16 years old, also never has to work again. We have our own built home, a 2 year old son and 9 month old daughter. We are set, we have secured funds for a very comfortable life, as well as for our children when they’re older but we intend for them to work somewhat. I did a lot of charity work despite admittedly never having worked a hard day in my life. But I did enough to receive recognition and accolades from Her Majesty The Queen for my Services to the United Kingdom and Her Majesty even invited me and my partner to Buckingham Palace to meet members of The Royal Family (which also included Prince William, Prince Harry and Catherine Middleton).
I was born in Cambridge, UK, and have lived here all my life and still do and have always had a fortunate and good life.
Now me and my partner intend to spend every minute making the most of not needing to work and enjoying our time with our children as they grow up. We appreciate how fortunate we are and how few parents are both able to say they can spend every minute with their children and not have to go to work, and can travel and make memories whenever we want. So you can be comfortable, but personally I’d advise only living a super luxurious lifestyle if you have at least £25m in savings, have solid investments, other income such as properties and so on. Plus also if you have enough money, you can easily live most of your life or at least most expenses off the interest you make with your bank/financial institution just from having your money sit in the bank if you can’t be bothered to invest in anything! 😉 Easily earn at least £200k a year from interest if you got £25m sitting in a basic bank and basic interest. But there are much better deals and interest rates than that.
Saying his channel is dead getting 5 million views a month is ridiculous, that is enough to live very comfortably. A dead channel is one that stops uploading for months/years.

It actually feels weird not seeing every UA-camr under the sun making a Morgz video, because he toned down his obnoxious behavior in order to make his content more mature, and I think that's what hurt his content in the long run, as he not only lost people who made content on him for free advertising, but all the people who watch him ironically also left as now his content can't really be watched in an ironic sense. I still hope he's doing well for himself regardless

Yeah but he did build his ground on UA-cam under clickable and loud humor. I do hope though that people like him on who he is now and not his false identity in the past. Everyone starts somewhere.
Although I do think that it'll kinda cruise along. Pick up a few new subs/viewers here and there who didn't really experience the Morgzpocalypse and hell, who knows, perhaps even clear the name somewhat with a new(er) audience in the future.

One of my family members was the quoted "headteacher" at Morgz' school. I remember him saying he was not fully understanding how much Morgz was earning - he thought it was 50 pounds a month when it was actually 50,000. From what he said about the guy he seemed alright at school, but he quit after his GCSEs and he never saw him again.

A common thread I see in these videos is people reaching a peak. And people lose interest. I bet it's hard to keep up the pace they set when everything is shiny and new. Everyone comes hot out of the gate cause they've had all these ideas for so long and now they can put it out there daily and its fresh. I don't understand fans that think content creators can keep that pace after yrs and yrs. It takes time to out quality content out. Especially if you're just one person doing the work. People need to chill.
Another nail in the coffin for our education system. This guy dropped out of school at 15 and was still able to go on and become more successful than likely the vast majority of his classmates.
It makes me very happy that he admitted to his faults and showed his true self rather than just continuing and denying. It feels refreshing after hearing about so many terrible UA-camr stories

I think it’s quite sad actually, I get he’s annoying and I agree, however it’s kind of like the situation that JellyBean was in, they both made videos for a certain audience and the videos reach people who weren’t that. He definitely wanted to be himself and make good videos and him dropping out at 15 years old showed this.
