- Got the chance to get a hands-on look at the new AMG One during my trip to Dubai. Formerly called the Project One, this car has been in the work for quite some time now but it's nothing we've ever seen before. It's an F1 car, for the road. It's interesting to note that engine of the Mercedes-AMG hypercar will require a rebuild after about 50000 km...

Yeah it cost A LOT of money for mercedes to develop it. It was announced back in 2017 and it kept having issues and setbacks, only started shipping around 2023 I think so yeah it's very expensive and exclusive
For that price i can get a cullinan,urus,bentayga,sf90,vantage,McLaren and revuelto!

On the down side, you’ve gotta change to engine every 35k miles, $500,000 for new engine, it’s running an F1 engine not designed for constant use

No way an average person can afford a Mercedes AMG One. Just the maintenance cost is $859k a year. I guess an average person will get a 2024 Tesla Model S performance for $80K. Model S has almost less than $1K maintenance cost a year and can do 0 to 60 in 1.9 seconds at any time and at every time while being quiet and being accepted by the society. The best part is, that speed always stays constant for the entire life of that model S car. Which is around 300K to 500k miles.

It’s worth that because of the engine being an actual Formula one power unit (same championship winning engine from 2015) + the F1 hybrid system being the first car of its kind besides the Ferrari F50 with a V12 F1 engine block also should mention it holds the world record lap at the Nurburgring

I think that this Mercedes it is kind of "hypercar", i don't know, for me this is some type of unfinished car project!
It is not on same level with Bugatti, Koenigsegg or Rimac.
Mercedes deserves to make one true pure hypercar like i mentioned before, car with at least 1500hp and speed of 450+km/h.
Yeah it's a much different project than the other cars. The powertrain is the most important thing and it wasn't easy to get it right, took them 7 years to release after initially revealed in 2017...
The other hypercars you mentioned were built for a different purpose - completely different engineering development. This AMG ONE reminds me a lot of the CLK GTR.
This is an actual hypercar designed to go around a racetrack fast. Fastest road car around the nordschleife
all those other cars that you mentioned are slower than the amg one in circuits

This is what holds the record at nueremberg over the Viper by like 25 seconds for how much? With more development the Viper could be a car at the top for mush less money. There is a 3300 h.p. Viper here in U.S. that runs anything that pulls up next to it on the highway and shifts maybe 1 time and is gone . 😂 the room for problems with these 5 million dollar cars is mind boggling. Not to mention the mechanic needed to service these things!
