- Disney’s new plans to save the Avengers sound about as appetizing as MCU Phases 4 & 5. Avengers 5 is going to be an ensemble cast of over 60 heroes with no major stars. Since Marvel Studios forgot to create any following Avengers Endgame. Disney have been scrambling to to do something with Avengers 5 since Jonathan Majors’ exit as Kang following a conviction. Wes breaks down Marvel Studios latest plans for the next Avengers film and can't help but laugh. Disney's Avengers 5 plans downright embarrassing.

Bob Iger said that Disney films from 2025-2029 will push the message harder than ones from 2020-2024. (Dunno if I should include 2024 in that since they have released nothing yet this year but Inside OUt 2 is the first test in that regard.) The only exception I could see is Zootopia 2. And thats only because Jennifer Lees' attention is divided since she has to oversee Moana 2 now, and also because since Zootopia is the EASIEST Disney property to shove DEI into, it might be a little tough for them to do so, wheras something like Frozen they will force it in whether viewers like it or not.

He was never Kang. Think about it... instead of building up the character like Thanos, it was all about casting a Black guy and just slapping a character on him.
He was defeated like 5 times already... by Sylvie, original Wasp, a bunch of Ants, Ant-Man and Loki.
Not a big threat... he will be defeated again and again if it keeps going on.
Kang get’s beat in the comics all the time the entire point of his character is that you can’t defeat him because another one will replace him as we saw in the post credit scene. So Ant Man did not beat Kang he just opened the door for the rest of them to step in.
@@Guardiann1Completely disagree, Kang was built up perfectly over the course of Loki season 1. And while I hate race swapping characters, Kang felt completely different because of the way Johnathon Majors was able to own every variant of Kang he was playing came off as perfect and great casting.
Now race swapping Wonder Man and giving him a series is beyond stupid because they should have just made him Adam Brashear and gave Blue Marvel a series.

Impossible because they will have stars in the movie. Like Tom Holland, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Cucumberdickbatch, etc, by default will be the leads because of their onscreen presence.
So it sounds more like Infinity War than Eternals.
An Avengers movie without Iron Man, Captain America, or Black Widow would be like Ice Cream without Ice or Cream.

Feige didn't forget to make new stars, he tried and failed to make new stars. Clearly Captain Marvel was supposed to be the face of the MCU going forward, but they hired one of the most unlikeable actresses in Hollywood for the part. They mistreated Scarlett Witch and Black Widow til nobody cared and tried to turn all the male heroes into female versions. One screw-up after another.
Unless they get back to what made the early phases successful - good superhero action and likeable characters - and dump the identity politics agenda they'll just continue to throw good money after bad.
I still like scarlet witch. I’ll be happy if they bring her back in a truly heroic fashion

I think one of the biggest mistakes was underestimating how popular Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda would become and do not understand how they didn’t correct course and give her a movie post EndGame. Like had WandaVision been turned into a movie if easily a billion dollar movie.

I disagree, the Russos put the MCU on life support by killing off Iron Man and doing whatever they did to Steve Rodgers which doesn’t even make sense because it would have ruined the timeline, so Feige by letting those 2 moves stick instead of having Tony fake his death like in the comics and Steve to have went back, saved Nat and wore a Widows mask to fool everybody at the end, is what is screwing it up.
Because everything would be fine if we were waiting for another Iron Man movie or Avengers movie with Tony and Steve to bring things back together, but instead we are waiting for an Avengers film to even make it make sense.

It will be an eye opener for them when they release an Avengers movie that no one goes to see. No one cares about seeing Shang Chi team up with She-Hulk and a bunch of teenage girl knock offs of the real heroes.
They should just reset the whole universe at this point, apologize for their subpar output over the last couple of years, and promise to do better moving forward, starting with the Fantastic 4.

That was the most embarrassing and worst version of the character. They really just made him an edgelord, “boy with no love” or whatever the hell.

There was no reason to get rid of Captain America. Chris Evans looks young, he could play the character for another 10 years. They just dont want to pay the big actors anymore.

I only keep up with Marvel news out of morbid curiosity these days. Nothing that they've produced in the past few years has been worth watching and I get angry at the pointless changes to established characters. Until there's a regime change or these guys get their heads out of their asses Marvel is doomed.
If they gave Bucky the Shield, that could've been a big draw. Also, Dr. Strange could've been a big draw but they made him a side character. They could've made him a very important figure, but they squandered that potential.
Yeah,Bucky-Cap in the MCU made ZERO sense. He’s a well known killer terrorist. And he’s every bit the knockoff Falcon-Cap is. At least Sam isn’t a brainwashed killer.
@toddholland7511 Bucky is no longer brainwashed, so there's nothing to worry about there. He deserves the shield more than Sam. He had an important role across all 3 Captain America movies. He fought alongside Steve in World War 2. Meaning he's got a lot of experience on the battlefield. He also kept his skills despite them removing the brainwashing. So he's got skills and experience. He's an actual super soldier. He's Steve's best friend. Steve literally went to war with his friends because he didn't give up on Bucky. Bucky getting the shield fits perfectly with his redemption arc. Without getting it, he's stuck feeling sorry for himself and never moving on. Not only that, but Bucky would have a natural distrust of the US government because they also used the Winter Soldier since they were infiltrated by Hydra. Sam is just another soldier working under the government. He gave the Shield back to the government, despite the fact that it never belonged to them. It belongs to the Starks since Howard Stark made it. He doesn't deserve that shield.
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp Winter soldier is a construct which Bucky remembers, but is no longer his identity. Taking up the mantel of Cap makes sense for a redemption arc. He would still want to try and right the wrongs even if he wasn't in control of his mind and body. Could of still had that fun old/new world dynamic between Cap and Falcon.
Thinking about the Earths Avengers they should of made Falcon the leader imo. He is a military vet much like Cap/Bucky, but of modern times. The other Avengers when they was active/alive were not really suited. Nerd Hulk is a scientist or rage monster. Tony was an inventor. Thor Alien/God has got is other realms stuff. Black Widow/Hawkeye are/were assassins not leaders. Black Panther still had a secluded Kingdom to oversee. Falcon could of focused on his strengths leading the Avengers without any other distractions and obligations.
@PrivateCitizen84 personally, I just don't think he fits in that role. He's better as a side/support character. It was nice seeing him relate to Steve about his experience as a military vet. I think that role was perfect for him. Not all characters need to be put directly in the spotlight.
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp Falcon is personable and not ego driven. Mentally and emotionally disciplined as a vet. Used to a modern command structure and has knowledge experience of applied modern tactics. I don't think any other Avenger has both the temperment and time to be the leader of the Avengers. A lot of the Avengers are solo players in what they do. Falcon, being a vet is a team player. I think his team organizational skills would be better. The others just don't fit the leader bill. It's down to a process of elimination imo.
Back in 2022, the grifters tried to hype us up by leaking the synopses of The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
The meat of the leak was Secret Wars. Apparently, the TVA rebel against Kang and rally a band of multiversal heroes (the Fox and Sony characters) to stop him. Tobey Maguite and Hugh Jackman are the main stars.
Now, with the sacking of Jonathan Majors, the movies will be retooled like Hell. The threat of Kang has more or less been nipped in the bud with Loki now the God of Stories. Not only that, but the leaks feel like safe guesses.
That said, I can absolutely see this being their plan for Secret Wars. Because it's just like old times. Remember when they used to slap Spider-Man or Wolverine on the covers of comics that had nothing to do with them?
The cinematic juggernaut that was the MCU has stumbled and fallen. Marvel has realised that they can't turn just any old character into a household name anymore.
Kevin Feige is 100% banking on the sheer fanservice of Robert Downey Jr, Tobey Maguire and Hugh Jackman meeting up with each other.
X-Men 97 was the only one big hit of Marvel/Disney. No way they can replicate the same success in the MCU. That universe need a complete reboot at this point.

The core problem with this whole situation were the creators in charge, who refused to be professional and research the films or the comics, but thought their narcissistic ploys were the best thing ever. It was folk like Jac Shaffeur, Jessica Gao, Chloe Zhao and all these others who ruined the MCU.

Making Wang Sorcerer Supreme was such disrespect to the Doctor Strange Character. Has it even been mentioned since then, that Dr Strange is the Sorcerer Supreme?
60 characters? They have that many they think people will want to come see after their long list of failures since Endgame? You cannot have that many characters and then just pull from that pool for an ensemble movie and think it is any good, especially when they failed to build up most of those characters into actual characters.
So this is a Defenders movie they are making? No main group of heroes, just a big group of heroes? Sounds like the Defenders to me.

The Thunderbolts will just be a cheap Suicide Squad knockoff with zero audience draw. They can’t do the original Thunderbolts story, because they failed to establish even half the necessary characters and because they didn’t remove the Avengers with a big bang that kept the audience interested in what’s happening now.

I wish they just reboot the whole thing, somehow burn it to the ground and start anew. Make a House of M kind of event, or Secret Wars, keep a few good characters "inmune" or "aware" of what happened in the past (Spider-Man with Tom Holland, Doc Strange with B.Cumberbatch, maybe Thor and Star-Lord?) and destroy the rest. Use it to introduce X-Men and FF, and create much less content but of higher quality. Like MCU was 10 years ago.
Disney should have made The Winter Soldier take over for Captain America. Why ? 1) He has the Super Soldier Formula 2) He closely resembles Steve Rogers character, being as he's a WWII relic as well. 3) Him, and Anthony Mackie are great friends, and would have been awesome in a Captain America and the Falcon movie.
Hollywood has screwed itself out of talented leading men actors. Strong leading Men bring in the men and they bring in the families and women. How do they not know their audience.
Who pays for the dates and nights out to the movies its men. Now you have NO leading strong men that other men want to follow.

Marvel is going to reboot because they want to do it before DC.
I'd forget about recapturing The Avengers per se, and certainly trying to regurgitate the old avengers: if Deadpool And Wolverine is as good as we hope, and they can continue to not neuter deadpool or lose reynolds, then they have him. If Daphne Keen in fact makes an appearance in that, I think we could all probly stomach X-23 as an ongoing character if played by her and they should WANT that if they're so desperate for 'diversity', and they need a 'wolverine'. If they don't fuck up Daredevil then they have him - and everyone wants D'nofrio as Kingpin to crossover to the movies. And people want the next Spidey to be more grounded and street level. So - go for something more along the lines of Defenders/Midnight Sons or something. Have Daredevil tv show setup Kingpin as a grounded but overarching villain, have Spidey deal with that in Spidey 4 with Daredevil making an appearance or make it a spider-man daredevil teamup movie, have cameos of whoever makes sense of the characters I listed and/or one of the F4 or smth (Johnny Storm always played well with spidey, Mr Fantastic would be a good smart team-leader character), and lead that into some kind of movie with Spidey Daredevil Deadpool X-23/a wolverine, vs D'nofrio Kingpin but maybe he pulls some arch-villain shit that gives us a supernatural aspect (and bringing in Blade, Moon Knight?) to deal with it all together. They need to bring Miles Morales in at some point cos Tom Holland aint gna be spidey forever and they're gna want Miles also for forced reasons if nothing else - but a way to do that which wouldn't make fans mad and would be fucking cool would be a crossover with Spider-Verse so that that Miles ends up in the MCU as a live-action version, or something like that. If they could have Tom Holland appear in Beyond The Spider-verse, as rumoured for the last one I think ? but obviously didn't happen, all the better. Kingpin already did multiversal shit in the first Spider-verse movie, so have D'nofrio Kingpin do somehing similar and we end up with Spider-verse's Miles coming in clutch to help out the team of Defenders/Midnight Sons/whatever against Kingpin and some superaturally multiversal enemy shit cos u know they can't resist going at least a BIT big with that shit.

In my canon Avengers: Endgame was the end as very few things since then were great, Spider-Man: No Way Home and X-Men '97. Everything else was quantity over quality.

You could put 100 Avengers against Dr. Doom and he would win. He beat the Beyonders. Victor Von Doom is the final boss of the Marvel Universe.
Wait he didn’t do it by himself tho he used the multiple men and exploded damn near the entire multiverse and beyonders with it.

@natecward8322 If you know the issue that is from let me know, I am not able to confirm that. The story as I know is that Dr. Doom, Dr. Strange and the Molecule Man discovered that Molecule Man and all his variants in the multiverse are like this bomb they can use to trigger an incursion. The trio gather lots of Molecule Men from across the multiverse and form them into a kind of bomb that they use to kill the Beyonders.
Once the Beyonders are dead Molecule Man is able to absorb their power and channel it into Dr. Doom so he can create and maintain Battlelworld.
Gonna shout into the void here but another story that not only requires a lot of Avengers but also leaves a lot of room for creative liberties is the Inhumans SIlent War story. Pre-nerf Black Bolt is an insanely heavy hitter, the Royal Family is pretty mean too. There's quite a bit that can be done there to expanded that into a movie, even drag it out across a few. COuld also bring Namor back since Atlantis had a history with the Inhumans.
Regarding DC, have you already discussed the pros and cons of losing Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman?
I just have absolutely no idea how anyone is still following these movies, I can’t remember the last MCU movie I seen, it was a few years ago, I know I seen Endgame, not sure if I seen anything after that.
Imo Spider-Man No Way Home and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 are the ones worth it, because they close their respective trilogies in a good way. They were both done by the original creative teams and featured the full cast of actors we liked.
Beyond these two I only have seen Shang-Chi, but I definitely can’t recommend that one.
At this point I honestly miss good Marvel.
How are they going to make an Avengers film, when all the Avengers are gone? They tried a comic, with all the understudies, and no one cared. It'd be like doing a Justice League Detroit movie.

Watch the next directors and writers start their bs by saying stuff like "I'm sooo happy I get to write the xmen movie. I love the xmen, ever since I was a kid. My favorite story is the Krakoa Era stories. So bold, so strong"........ at that point it's all just a waste of time and money. They need writers who love comics, know the comics, create great stories, or base them off older stories, like the 00s and earlier. The teens had a few good stories, but nothing to shake my wallet at.

I think another problem you're seeing here is the unwillingness to separate the connection of actor to role. And I've been saying this for years. The role NEEDS to be bigger than the actor portraying him. The character must endure even if the actor leaves.
I get it: RDJ didn't want to donit anymore. Chris Evans doesn't want to be remembered *onjy* as Captain America. Chadwick Boseman is passed.
So you replace the actors with new actors and you move on. You don't *kill the character!* The idea that RDJ *is* Iron Man or Hugh Jackman *is* Wolverine etc is counterintuitive to the entire process of storytelling. The characters these actors portray must be transcendent because the ideals they represent are transcendent. These are icons; symbols of our better natures.
And so the torch needs to be passable.
Or the story needs to end.

Doubtful. Three times the budget plus at least $100 million for marketing. So if it cost $200 million to make it,plus $100 million marketing that’s $300 million times 3,so $900 million to just break even,and most of that needs to be domestic.

Dr Strange 2 had a box office of 950 million, the studio gets half of that, which is 475 million. The official budget was 200 million. Add on that at least 150 million in marketing. That leaves Disney with 125 million in profit on 350 million invested, depending on any reshoots (which the MCU nowadays does for 50-100 million in additional cost). It’s not bad, but it isn’t crazy. The real potential of all MCU movies though is in the after cinema monetization, like the merchandise. But that’s the issue, Dr Strange 2 didn’t stop the decline of the MCU. That’s why we see new MCU movies announced despite mega flops like The Marvels that would otherwise break every series, Disney hopes to recover the golden goose the merchandise was.
There are so many problems here, where does someone even begin? Problem #1, I think, the biggest problem, is that all the primary decision makers are in a bubble of their ideology. They don't realize that the 'toxic' UA-cam critics are not a small minority but rather represent the tip of the feedback spear for a huge population of fans. Because of the hubris of the executives, they've lost the trust of the audience, and with lost trust comes lost enthusiasm. Most fans will never say anything, they will just stop caring and when they stop caring, they stop buying. This is the difference between the 'toxic' critic and the average fan. The toxic critic cares enough to actually say something, where as the average fan has fallen into apathy and is now preoccupied with alternative entertainment. Therein lays the dilemma for the executives. At this point one new director is not going to cut it. They will have to fire, basically everyone and hire professionals outside of their ideological bubble to begin a total rebuild. The problem is, the execs are to imbedded in their bubble to realize where the core issue resides. They most likely lack the insight or strength to take a good hard look at themselves and realize that they have become the problem.
Thor is not a lead character. All Thor movies were bad. He works best as a supporting character, as we see in Avenger movies, playing off of others. I give you Dark Elves as my proof Thor movies always sucked. Now, I do agree with you. They need a firm heroic lead, which is Spider-Man, he has the IP footprint, however, he is not a leader among men. Losing Cap, Iron Man and also then Black Widow as the female lead, that void as never been filled. They had that Star Trek Kirk/Spock/Bones vibe where you wanted to see them interact as they are very different people. The other thing, they need to quit with multiverse stories. Kang was fine exactly one time, the end of Loki season 1. That' it.

If the last phase was done correctly you could of had hulk, thor, Spiderman, and doctor strange be the big 4 moving forward. Instead no one knows who spiderman is, hulk being a total cuck loser, thor is a joke, and doctor strange isn't even sorcerer supreme.
The fact a nobody character like Agatha is getting her own series over a more notable character like Ghost Rider shows me MCU is beyond repairable. They’re just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks

I'm going to continue to skip anything Disney Marvel has coming down the pipeline. Until I can see they legitimately are trying to mend the rift they've created by injecting political biases, ideologies, and insulting the audience by telling them "you're the problem." They have forgone substance and great story telling and as someone that has loved these characters and stories since I was 10, I'll support these projects when they can stop insulting me and everyone else with the hot mess they are putting out right now...
