According to director Chad Stahelski, the events of the first 3 movies occur in roughly a week and a half. John Wick 4 takes place 6 months after JW 3.
The bald assassin (Mark Dacascos) is an amazing martial artist and also was the host of TVs Iron Chef. I couldn't help but notice that Winston did not seem even mildly surprised when told that John was not lying in the street dead. He also knew that John was wearing a bulletproof suit jacket. Hmmmmm. Great reaction once again Addie. Even God and Mother Nature were trying to shine a spotlight on you LOL. On to Chapter 4. Oh and the released estimates for John's body counts in these 1st 3 movies is as follows. 1. 77 2.128 3. 94 Halle not only did martial arts training with Keanu for her role they also discovered that with all the noise on set the dogs were confused about commands as they had trouble hearing the trainers. So Halle trained with the dogs as well and they got commands from her. Keanu was amazing again in this movie, but Halle and the dog and horse trainers (and of course the animals themselves) really were stars too.
Mark Dacascos' performance as Zero is brilliant. This is probably the best choreography he's had in his long career as a martial arts movie star. He's convincingly dangerous and menacing. And his trying to sit as close as possible to John, his gushing about what a big fan he is, and his belief that "We would be pals" are a hilariously accurate depiction of real life obsessed fanboys.
The choreography is great in this true but he's had some amazing choreography throughout his career so it's debatable if this is his best. To me personally his stuff in the movie Drive (1997) is his best.
Personally I loved him in Only the Strong. I thought that movie had great choreography. It really showed a difference between the practice and the practical.
The scene when John assembles the revolver is an homage to a famous scene in the Clint Eastwood/Sergio Leone western "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly." The John Wick movies have a lot of pop culture (especially action pop culture) references and homages.
Fun fact: the man he fought in the library in the beginning was played by an NBA player, Boban Marjanovic and at the time he was the tallest player in the league
Those two are part of Keanu's actual trainers/sparring partners. Yayan Ruhian (Tasu Leech in The Force Awakens) and Cecep Arif Rahman (also part of Kanjiklub in TFA). They've done several foreign martial arts films. I'd love to see them make it onto Corridor Digital's "Stuntmen React" channel. Good stuff.
@@iAmPimmiCue Happens a lot. I wish I never saw Corridor Crew's "Stuntmen React" videos. Now I see stuntmen pausing and background fighters just going through a slow kata against someone. I see it in older movies all the time now.
I was making myself dinner while listening to / watching this reaction, and then I burst out laughing. I never thought I'd hear you say "my dude" :') Loved your reaction as always.
Mark Dacascos' Zero is probably my favourite supporting character in this whole franchise aside from Charon. He's a lethal killer but he's also such a goofy fanboy of John, it's so fun to watch him switch between those two modes. I also love the respect John and the two Indonesian guys show each other, starting with discarding their lethal weapons to show that they're not actually trying to just straight out kill each other, they're engaging in a 'proper' battle of skills. Fun fact: apparently during the fight with the two Indonesian guys, the moment where John kinda struggles to get up a bit and puts both hands up in a "just hang on a minute" kinda gesture, that wasn't scripted at all and was genuinely just Keanu not getting his footing properly the first time he went to stand up.
I like how he gave the two guys an out. It was kind of a "you can't kill me or your boss will kill you, and I respect how well you fought. So stay down and I won't have to kill you"
I love the homeless guy talking to himself, and then once he sees John, completely drops the act, "Tick Tock Mr. Wick, Tick Tock". That's when you know he has no safe places to hide, when even the would be homeless are on the clock. LOL
That’s our Addie, the sweet girl who is absolutely shocked at the level of carnage but still up for more!😁 in the last John Wick you seemed almost immune to the brutality. Btw, just in case no one has mentioned it yet, there is a series coming out about how Winston started at the Continental. Since you said you’d like to see that.
If you think Chapter 3 was outrageous let's just say Chapter 4 takes it to a level never seen in a movie before. Ever. It's a visual feast for the eyes and senses.... Beautifully filmed, beyond incredible over the top fight scenes, gorgeous locations, etc.... Saw it in IMAX multiple times and loved every second of it!
Halle Berry did sooo much work to be able to do her own stunts in the fight scenes and she went to the shooting range to learn the use of the weapons. Well done Halle!! Parabellum. The Latin for, "Prepare for war". Great reaction / review, as always lady. As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
Addie if you look back at the scene when he gets shot he takes them all in his clothes and if you also remember, his clothes are armored, but Winston did take a chance that John would survive the fall. Another bit of info, I forget when but on Netflix there will be a three part series of Winston and the Continental early days
"Si vis pacem, para bellum" If you want peace, prepare for war. The word Parabellum comes from this (and is also a subsection/classification of a category of firearms) 3:33-4:06 When John Wick books someone, they stay booked 19:25-19:36 Sophia's in trouble. Dog #1 is: "Protecc Mama!" thug aims at Dog #1. Dog#2 is: "Protecc sibling!" Sophia's back up, and instructs the thugs to stay down using bullets. 26:15-26:20 Addie: "Oh did that get both of them?" It would appear so, but John always has to make sure of things, so he gave them both the Road Rash sandwich for good measure.
John Wick 3 is one of my favorites in the Saga, I really enjoyed it when it came out in the movies, I hope you'll do the John Wick 4 reaction video, I really liked the movie and I even cried a lot at the end, even my villain Favorite of the movie is the Chilean who spoke a little Spanish, that was the best together with the actor who did IT Bill Skarsgård incredible
the fight where john took off his belt to fight with goes to show that the most deadly melee weapon is that which isn't even a weapon but an item that prevents your pants from meeting your ankles :)
It is a little bit subtle, and I think I missed it the first time I watched too, but before they go to visit that guy, she outfitted her dogs with bullet proof vest coats. You can see the ballistic plating on it as she pets them before they leave. So when the dog gets shot, you see her pull the deformed bullet off of it. And yes, that trained dog fighting during the gunfight is the most badass thing I have ever seen in a movie.
my favorite fight scene in this movie and one of my favorites in the whole series is the knife throwing. If you notice, during that scene when John throws a knife at that one assassin and he dodges it, it's just like in the Matrix. There are a couple scenes that have "matrix moves" in them.
Fav part of john wick 3. "He shot my dog'" " I get it " How the series even started because of a dog. fav movie series and yes its within like a 14 day time period for the series
Great reaction, as usual. The fight scenes have become dances, choreographed like a ballet. A weird, bloody ballet but one nonetheless. Can't wait for you to watch #4.
Your comment makes me think of one of Jack Handey's "Deep Thoughts": "To me, boxing is like a ballet, except there's no music, no choreography, and the dancers hit each other."
If Winston wanted to kill John he would have gone for the head. He knew that John had a bullet proof suit, he also knew where to get John off the building
The first John Wick film I saw in theaters when I was 14 years old, lmao. 😂 Weird story, because of my height was like 19 plus, and my mother letting me enter the theater.
I also saw the first john wick film when i was 14. I went with my mum I assume you went alone? As if you were accompanied by an adult you would get in regardless of height
“Is that *the* dog? He likes you.” No, that dog’s dead. John’s only been back a week or two and already the story of how has got muddled up so much Zero can’t keep it straight.
I was thinking, what if the doc's clock was running 2 minutes behind? How can you guarantee that ALL clocks are exactly on the same time? It was an old wall clock to, not a digital clock on a computer or phone so it couldn't be synced up with others...
my theory about why no animals are killed after the dog in the first movie is that either a) there's a specific rule against hurting animals in the assassin code, or b) everybody knows what happened LAST time somebody killed an animal in front of john wick, and they would just genuinely rather he shoot them in the face than risk whatever he would do to them if they killed another one in front of him. cos let's be real, there were MANY times when that horse could've been killed, at least. all the people trying to kill john wick had to deliberately avoid hurting the horse. (i know the IRL reason is probably just that it would've been risky to have a horse train to fall in a scene that complicated, but i like to think that there's an in-universe reason, too.)
Her dogs are not 'just dogs' "They're K-9 Type People!" Winston, Laurence Fishburne and Wick are 'homies.' As with Winston shooting Wick, John understands and expected it to a degree. If you look closely - none of Winstons' shots where 'the killing type' where he would die from them! They all where "wounding shots!' John's upper left shoulder, lower right waist and lower left waist? The same with Winston - when he rebelled and said that he'd rather die at the hand of a "Friend." At some point they all 'sticked out their necks' "for each other(in these movies mostly for John as a 'return favor' is my guess)" as best they could (to a large degree)' As with 'me and my homies' - we'll do what we can not matter the situation - but there is a point/limit that we can't cross; and we as they all understand that, this is where Winston told John he'd rather die at the hand of a friend. The only exception in this world is with the Markers. I presume John has more markers than he's used in these first movies! It's a great series though! For all the movies he's done and for soo much more we all love Keanu! I'm sure we're all happy to see you're enjoying this series as much as we are and have! Thanks 😼Addie!!! 😼 OH! It's time for First Blood!
Great reaction Addie! This a very good addition to the series! Lots of action, lots of knife fights, lots of gun fights and lots of dogs in this movie. Thank dog no animals were hurt...to bad. 🐕🦺💚 I can't wait for the next movie in the series. There suppose to do a film on the contenintal with a young Winston. It could be a tv series. Be nice to catch that! Keep up the great reactions they make my day!😊 Luv ya Addie ❤💛
Yes, I think I saw an ad for the TV series -- although it's hard to imagine it being anywhere near compelling enough without Ian McShane or Lance Reddick.
Don’t be mad at Winston, he’s still on John’s side. He was putting on a show for the adjudicator. He knows John’s suit is armored & Winston’s shots were all to the body.
You were surprised at the $14M... you forgot Winston's chat with John right before the 1 hour... "The [high table] has doubled [the last guys] contract." (names substituted because spelling is hard on Mondays) John dodges bullets and swords... Addie dodges beams of light. ... trying... to... resist... Failed: Addie has seen the light... during a John Wick film.
Also the Adjudicator lady was kinda wrong with the Bowery king...the gun he gave to Wick wasn't the one used to kill Santino...he used up those seven rounds on Santino's goons at that party pretty quick. He shot Santino with some random gun he took off one of his goons lol.
43:48 well Winston could’ve shot John in the head but he shot him where he knew John was protected and sent him off the side of the roof that he knew had awnings to slow his fall. Coming I believe in September on Peacock they’re doing a three part tv series about the Continental in the 70s with a young Winston and it looks like John’s mustang is in the series also unless it’s a different one which is completely plausible.
hah. it's cool to see your evolution as you've been doing these reactions and that you've gotten to the point where you can find these kinds of movie kills funny. because it's totally meant to be. these aren't real people and the situations are totally absurd... meant to be entertainment and with the right perspective, it's very entertaining indeed.
Hi, loved your reaction. Can't wait to see your reaction to John wick chapter 4 . Also some movie suggestions: Blade runner (1982) Blade runner 2049 Tron Tron: Legacy Oblivion (2012) The mission impossible series Spider man: across the spiderverse(note it might be a good idea to watch into the spider verse first if you haven't seen it yet.)
According to director Chad Stahelski, the events of the first 3 movies occur in roughly a week and a half. John Wick 4 takes place 6 months after JW 3.
2:30 I love that when John realized that time was running out, he made sure that the dog would get to safety.
This franchise is very pro-dog.
"You are breaking the rules: the librarians are not going to be happy about this!" LOL Addie is adorable
Hmmmmm. The choreography is great in this true but he's had some amazing choreography throughout his career so it's debatable if this is his best. To me personally his stuff in the movie Drive (1997) is his best.
He does hold multiple black belts in martial arts.
I recommend DRIVE. That was one of the best action movies
Personally I loved him in Only the Strong. I thought that movie had great choreography. It really showed a difference between the practice and the practical.
Addie's genuine wide-eyed innocence is the perfect contrast/compliment to the carnage unfolding in this series. Wait til she gets to the next Chapter.
I used to get annoyed because I thought that "wide-eyed innocence" was an act, but now I'm convinced that it's the real Addie.
Oh I’m sure she’s got a demoness in her underneath she hides and/or lets out at times haha
@MrGpschmidt. So spot on. I love this channel Addie is Amazing in her reactions to the movies we love so much.

They've done several foreign martial arts films. I'd love to see them make it onto Corridor Digital's "Stuntmen React" channel. Good stuff.
It's a shame they weren't used properly in this film. You could tell they had to severely slow themselves down to make John look better

The safest place for John Wick if he goes to Outer-Space till everyone is calm down.
😂😂😂
Then he would bump in aliens... Aliens would try to eat his dog... so... We would have John Wick goes inter galactic...
I love the homeless guy talking to himself, and then once he sees John, completely drops the act, "Tick Tock Mr. Wick, Tick Tock". That's when you know he has no safe places to hide, when even the would be homeless are on the clock. LOL
The dog choreographer deserved an Oscar.
and the dogs deserve treats XD
The knife fight is one of my top 3 favorite moments in the entire franchise 🔪😁

21:34 In fairness, she probably just increased that waters value. Like, a lot.
You could seriously sell that on line for some good money.

You're the best reactor, imo. The innocence that's fun to watch without the naivety.
The giant guy he fights in the library is Boban Marjanović, a 7'4" NBA player and all around funny guy.
First movie: gun fu.
Second movie: car fu.
Third movie: dog fu.
the fight where john took off his belt to fight with goes to show that the most deadly melee weapon is that which isn't even a weapon but an item that prevents your pants from meeting your ankles :)
Something truly TRULY special and entertains about Addie loving this visceral and adrenal series.

The building a gun scene is an omage to a classic western. Fistful of Dollard
30:25 the Continental hotel has a series coming out called, "the Continental"
Fun Fact: the "tall guy" is played by professional basketball player Boban Marjanović...he's 7ft 4in!
I always think of his Goldfish crackers commercials.
34:18 What light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Addie is The Sun. 🌞😁
The tall guy at the beginning is Boban Marjanovic. He’s an NBA player and he’s got a handful of funny Goldfish ads and other things here on UA-cam.
A fun behind the scenes fact, the knife fight at the start, all the glass they were breaking was CGI.
40:54 - the face of betrayal!😄
I was tickled watching you battle that sun light during the reaction. 😂
“He shot my dog!”
“I get it…”

In all honesty i prefered the first 2 movies based on exactly what you just wrote... Its to much now no matter how great it looks...
I think each film built on the previous one, creating this unfolding story.
34:22 It's not a John Wick movie until someone hangs up on a villain! 😁
Ady: If anyone kills a Horse....
Also Ady when a Horse kills a guy: Nice! Why is this so funny.
If Winston wanted to kill John he would have gone for the head. He knew that John had a bullet proof suit, he also knew where to get John off the building
That excuse can’t really be used anymore, considering what Winston said in response to shooting John off the roof
There's a series coming out about the Continental and Winston's early days. Think it's a 3 or 4 part series coming to Peacock
Do you know The Actor who plays Winston is also the voice of Tai Lung in Kung Fu Panda, Po's arch nemesis , Ian McShane.
You're right that the bounty for John had been $7 million. It was doubled at the very end of the last film.
The two gentlemen killers in the glass room are very famous.
The way you predict the lines right before they say them in every movie
Great reaction Addie. I did notice you cringe when John killed, but laughed when horses and dogs killed lol.
John wick had a bullet proof vest on when Winston shot him and Winston knew that

Great reaction to arguably the best of the John Wick franchise. Good job Addie.

If you think Winston wanted him to die he would have shot him in the head or in the bullet-proof vest?
John Wick Chapter 4 will have a post credits scene.
There is power in books. PitBulls are pure spirits, you can not excommunicado a pitbull. Rules of the highest table.
You should watch Trading Places (1983 - Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd) :)
Fact is the fight with all the glass at around 6:00 ... all the glass is CGI.
hah. it's cool to see your evolution as you've been doing these reactions and that you've gotten to the point where you can find these kinds of movie kills funny. because it's totally meant to be. these aren't real people and the situations are totally absurd... meant to be entertainment and with the right perspective, it's very entertaining indeed.
I wanted to let you know Jurassic Park is going to be back in theaters for a while. From the 24th to the 31st
