Just what I needed to hear I'm still on the right track 3 yrs in painting business here in WA just started taking on some commercial contracts grinding my ass off for now and no plan on slowing down anytime soon myself being out there i love it. LFG!!!
Good stuff here. I do feel the need to comment that if you fail in a business venture that does not turn you into a turd, in fact you retain your human form just fine 😁
the only issue I have is with getting customers to commit to projects once scoped. and I'm the cheap guy in town! last week I sent out 5 quotes. the most expensive one was only 4 grand. none of them accepted. I can't just tell them "this job isn't big enough for me sorry" cause I need to get established and get my name out there, but at the same time it's killing me not getting commitments for jobs.
Maybe your pricing is the issue. If I received quotes for 8k and 10k and you came along and said 4k it puts doubt in the customers mind that it will be done right or completed. Work on selling your jobs with confidence and what value you will bring based on quality and honesty. Don’t ever try to be the Walmart of a service based business or you will never have the money you need when things go wrong. One of the best marketing things I have seen is what 5k, 10k, 20k and on can get you based on pictures of a job. It will weed out the customers that are wasting your time.
Are you cleaned cut? Show up with a wheel/measuring tape? Notebook? Business cards or flyers? Decent vehicle? A lot of things come into play when bidding jobs
It’s needed in retaining walls over 4’ though! I would have went deeper on the compact. It looked like 4” to me and I would have went 6” for the extra support of vehicles.
Lotta respect t but based off the information on your videos, my business makes more money than yours, with a quarter of the employees, doing only irrigation. Just think about that.
