    We take the Cordona PQ8 quick shifter to the track for testing. Got to find the correct kill time and actuator pressure for Dave's shifting style.

    Why do I always think of the telly tubbies when I see someone with a camera on their head. lol. I have the Cordona on a 2013 10R with the WRT software with tuneable KT's in each gear and throughout the rev range, from memory.. I think in some places I have it down to .45 with the pressure set at 11 or 12. Just one thing.. I don't mean to tell ya falher how to suck eggs... but I would put a little zippy on the sensor wire to the rod for extra support, so if it snaps overtime you will have something to be able to rejoin the two ends back together with as it may snap off right as it go'es into the sensor.

    Dave, when u say “precise” with your shifting at 50 mili second setting, do you mean by having it in the right rev range or quicker foot action?

    I went with healtech qs on my carbbed zx6r, all changes are made via phone app so no need for physical access to the unit, kill times can be changed in specific rev ranges, if there was a possibility to adjust for individual gears as well it would be perfect but still I rate it as very good. The sensor is a ring type and very small one, fits on stock shift rod no problems. It's possible to adjust sensitivity as well as kill delay time. The unit can be transferred between bikes, only the harness is bike specific. Looking forward to your review of healtech. God bless!

    Dave, if there is a big jump (don’t know how else to describe it) when shifting, would you say the delay time is too long or too short? Thanks.

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  3 роки тому +1

      Delay time may be too long, the chain is too loose or the rubber bushings in the rear wheel are wearing out.

    Cordona advertise there adaptive kill times based on engine acceleration, load and RPM.
    But it has no input from speed sensor or gear position sensor to truly know the current gear.
    Does setting a good kill time for one gear (e.g. 2 to 3) causes other gears to have worse upshift (e.g 5 to 6)?
    Because for this pricey QS I think that gear dependent kill times are missing. What is your felling about it?

    Hi Dave,
    I had installed rear sets with GP shift with cordona shifter and now when it shifting it become hard, it was smooth when I had normal shift with QS.
    What do you think I should do?

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  3 роки тому +1

      Sounds like duration is too small and sensitivity needs to be reduced.

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  Рік тому +1

      I space out my downshifts and if I do need to double down I hold the clutch in to reduce time spent in the process. Defeats the purpose of course of an up/down quick shifter but it saves a huge amount of "waiting" for the electronics to do their thing.

    Dave, off topic here, Sometimes my bike doesnt engage next gear on the upshift, Quickshift 5th and 6th. 2017 ZX 10 RR,
    It did it stock, did it with graves rearsets, did it after xmsn recall.
    I have made many adjustments to shift lever angle, tight chain , loose chain,
    Any suggestions ?

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  4 роки тому

      Just one gear is very unusual, 2-3 is the norm pointing at worn shift forks/dogs. Have not had a late ZX10R issue like this and need to look at the fiche to see if there is a star gear that could have one tooth worn etc. Very odd indeed.

      @@catalystreactionsbw It doesnt always do it.. But like u mentioned in this vid,, it works most of the time if i am giving more much focus on how/when i am shifting,, but then im not focused on riding. Speaking with 2 wheel dyn, he also mentioned star gear mod. Could not find any info. It doesnt always happen. It happens unexspectedly. My last ride i noticed my clutch cable friction was too tight. Clutch was slipping..Maybe it will improve now.

      Excellent video. Do you suppose your QS "kill times" could be transferred to Woolich Racing? I am having a difficult time dialing in the ms "Kill Times." Do you recommend a QS "Preload" time? If yes, how many ms? If no, doesn't that leave 100% kill time depwndent on the reaction of your foot?

      @@catalystreactionsbw why would you want to kill the ignition on downshifts without an auto blipper? Otherwise why not just downshift without cutting ignition. ZX6R doesn't have primary throttle drive by wire so it's not easily adaptable to a proper blipper on downshifts.

      Gear boxes are made for longevity as a general rule of thumb. If you want more precise shifting, gears can be undercut and shims replaced for precision shifting.
