I've been looking at building a blue iris based system and wondered this exact question. Whether on-camera ai (like the newish Dahua Tioc series) would be useful or useless with BI. What you're saying, it sounded to me anyway, was that you have a main stream and/or sub stream going to BI and a stream going to Amcrest software. And the Amcrest software was sending you notifications and thumbnail. Is that right? Or do you set trip wires in Amcrest software and have the Amcrest trigger go to BI?

Why not just get Logitech Circle View cameras if you’re an iOS guy? It’s the easiest thing you could possibly do. I just upgraded from two years of fighting with garbage Amcrest products.
These are just rebranded Dahua cameras. You can buy the cheaper model and flash it with Dahua firmware to unlock all features. Come on man you are supposed to be a tech guy... why wouldn't you tell the people this so they can save money? Oh and power over ethernet is nothing special nowadays
Do you know a place that cross-references Dahua and Amcrest? I wonder if Dahua uses different combinations of lite series and pro series parts to make Amcrest cameras. Dahua seems to keep their cards close to their chest regarding things like which image sensor manufacturers they use for which models
Hey but you need to check in your area because the audio is illegal to record unless it's posted out saying that you record audio or something like that that you're going on to this premises and it has to be lit up at night too it can't be hidden that has to be visible at all times I looked it up and it's like that in all states that all parties have to consent even if it's your own property so if you're recording audio get a sign
