It was nice to meet you at the store Friday afternoon. My daughter Emily is still talking about meeting her first UA-camr 😂. We appreciate all you guys do 🤙🏽
Brad, here is a recipe you might find you will like. This is for Whiting Fish but it will also work well for fish like Jacks or Mackeral that are oily and fishy tasting. With Whiting it is fantastic... Soused Whiting Fish with Pickled Vegetables for the whiting fish: 6 whiting fish fillets (from 3 whole fish) 1/4 cup Wondra flour fine sea salt freshly ground black pepper canola oil for the vegetables: 1 small red onion, thinly sliced 3 small radishes, thinly sliced 2 small carrots, thinly sliced for the brine: 1 cup apple cider vinegar 1 cup water 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1 tablespoon salt 2 teaspoons black peppercorns 2 teaspoons coriander seeds 1 bay leaf for the garnish: sour cream fresh dill Pat fish dry. Season each side with salt and pepper and coat with flour. Warm a thin layer of oil in a sauté pan set over medium-high heat. Add fillets skin side down and cook 2 minutes per side. Remove to a plate lined with paper towels. Add fillets to a shallow casserole. Add the onion, radish, and carrot slices to a bowl. To make brine, combine vinegar, water, sugar, salt, and spices in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Pour half the brine over the sliced vegetables and cover with a small plate to submerge them. Pour the remaining brine over the fish. Let fish and vegetables come to room temperature. Chill overnight. Serve with dollops of sour cream and sprigs of dill. Yield: 6 appetizer servings.
i would love to see some sheeps head fishing when you get down into flordia... me and my buddies were out today and we got a couple nice sheepshead. we caught a 17 inch 15 inch and a 18 inch
Great content! I've been watching beach bum since he started and loved when they brought you on. Yall got the whole store now and everything! Love the come up.
I don’t know what reels are best for the buck, penn, shamano, or diawa. I know all are great but surf reels are what I am looking for. You caught the drum on a penn
That drum weighed more than beach bum😂😂😂. Your wife made it home in time. We are at about 3” of snow between Memphis and Jackson TN. 18 degrees…stay toasty in those shorts
Always love watching you guys catch those beasts out of this particular canal on these kind of videos! I think that that would be the first place I would want to hit if (more like when) I get over that way. Now I know it's not that you were trying to highlight your footwear here, however, I think it's the first time we ever saw where it wasn't flip flops!😅 In fact it's one thing my wife and I always comment about when we're watching your videos as well as a few others, that there is like no way any of us would even consider wearing flip-flops in some of those situations that you and others get into. You're probably used to it though. Anyway, cool video, and I'm not just saying that, I like the canal videos a lot, I think I even messaged you about that place, one time or another. It just looks like a fun place to go, if you don't have a lot of equipment. All the fish would snap my stuff in half like a twig! Since we see a tugboat sailing by here at one point, can the public use it for a private craft or is that strictly prohibited? Anyway, till the next video, Happy New Year, God bless!
It really seems like the hook is way too small for the size of bait you’re using. But I’m guessing you know better than I do. I target giant catfish here in the Carolinas and use 10/0 circle hooks for the most part, but maybe those big drum are more hook sensitive?
No need to use such a big hook for redfish and drum many do but their mouths are not that tough and not as big as a huge cat also crabs are hard to put a big hook through without breaking the shell
@@ethanbiesecker Gotcha. I just meant because he was missing so many hook ups. I was assuming it was because of the small hook and gigantic bait he was using. Possibly the fish wasn’t getting the hook or not in a spot where it could be hooked if it did take the whole bait.
Keep'em coming! What's that canal?
