Jacob really seems to know and love the source material, and it's so endearing. The fact that he mentioned Gabrielle (Lestat's mother, and a real fan favourite) sells it for me. Also, I saw a video taken at a press conference for the show a few hours ago, and Jacob is wearing violet sunglasses (Lestat wears violet-tinted sunglasses in the novels). It really is in the details. 💜
The show is beautiful. The adaptation stays true to the themes of the source material. Lestat and Louis's nuanced-historical-romance is hypnotic, passionate and fascinating. Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson did a superb job bringing the characters to life.
Jacob Anderson is a fellow nerd!!! I love it!! Wave that nerd flag proudly!! When he mouthed "how dare you" at Eric's comment about the 'level of lunacy,' I cheered, cuz that was my first thought too. 😄
I can’t believe how much I love this show! So glad I gave the pilot a second chance because with these two it just works! While we wait for season 2, I’m diving back into the books to look for Easter eggs fin season 1!!❤
The show really blew me away. I have been reading almost exclusively Stephen King books for the last five years, but after watching the series, i have decided to read all of Anne Rices's vampire books. I am half way through Interview with the Vampire.
HA. She actually asked if anyone was a fan or familiar with the series beforehand… lol Dude, Sam Reid is a bigger fan of Anne Rice than I am and that’s really saying something. He is so extremely dedicated to getting every single aspect of his performance as Lestat as accurate as possible. Most people have NO IDEA. That’s why I’ve already decided, no matter how much this show might end up straying from the books, as long as Lestat is Lestat, I’m all in. And Sam Reid IS Lestat.
It just feels like she doesn’t even listen to their answers she just asks the question to ask then does a quick, detached kind of disinterested acknowledgment then moves on very quickly like babe give them some enthusiastic acknowledgment
It's weird to think of this as a continuation, because I watched the movie and the characters were completely different. Even Claudia in this series is older, and we all know she's dead at this point.
It would be weird to think of it as a continuation because it absolutely isn't and they didn't say that it was. They were always clear that they were retelling the story, and a major hint to that should have been the fact that both Louis and Claudia are now black and were turned in the early 1900s.
Sam nailed Lestat. Literally what i imagined from reading the books. And i get we live in a woke world now so i understand louis casting choice but to change the time line? To change the back story? That, to me, is unforgivable.
So far, I'm not minding the changes made to Louie. I'm glad that Lestat is now fully imagined & I'm looking forward to seeing who else gets that treatment. I hope that they get to other Lestat focused books like "Tale of the Body Thief"
So to change him from a plantation onwer something of history and pain in a love of story of white vampires?? Right get over it or go the read the book how u like dumpy..
From what i heard on their interview, it actually has nothing to do with being woke, you can listen to the iwtv podcast post finale on spotify to know why exactly they make that change
@@jayaguilar2031 so you don't want to actually listen to why they made those changes? You would rather just stick with your uninformed assumption that it's because of "woke bullshit"?
Eric: "...We thought you were a normal person...".
Jacob: *adorable nerdyness*
Me: "ONE OF US! ONE OF US!" 😂

And Sam also said he is a long time fan of the books
Got the link for the press conference?
As if I couldn't love Jacob enough as an uber Anne Rice fan getting to play out the full fantasy of Lestat, those violet glasses do it.

I am *ALSO* dying to see Jacob Anderson's Louis in a room with Gabrielle and Marius. Luckily, THERE'S A BOOK FOR THAT.
And what happens? Tell me
@@donnamariejohnson1133 reeeaaaddd trust me it's really good!
Jacob Anderson is so hot
He is, but Sam Reid is absolutely gorgeous.
@@cullenarthur8879both are gorgeous men

"This is my last chance at immortality" HAHAHAHAHA Eric Bogosian got a new fan.
What an amazing show and adaptation. All the actors are so brilliant, and writing is so smart.

It's perfect.

3:23 i accidentally looked at Sam at this moment and he was looking right in the camera
Jacob is so goddamn cute and so is the rest of the cast.
I was not excited about this until the trailer…I loved it the mood was like the books and I can’t wait for October
5:05 pressuRe!!, 6:17 + cute Jam Reidnerson moment
lol, Now we know why Eric's son never explained what the con was. He wanted to enjoy it without judgement.
What is it? I don't know what it is either. It seems like Jacob got offended when Eric said the lunacy of it all. Jacob mouth I dare you.

when sam said "thomas cruz' my brain was like WHO sorry
Excellent show I love it
Please, please, please....Marius!
Will we get action figures or bobble heads. ❤
vize haftamdayım diye daha kitaplara başlayamadım ve çatladım yeminle çatladımm
Evan Rachel Wood would be my Gabrielle ❤❤❤
I'd go with Robin Wright Penn
I didn't like the interviewer, luckily the cast knew how to handle the situation but I feel that it was very uncomfortable

No fr when Sam gave his answer and she was like “that’s amazing” and immediately went into the question for Eric like miss girl😭😭

This isn't the book. It will go easier for you if you accept it as an adaptation of the book that deviates from the source material in some ways.
