Thanks my dude! It was so rewarding when it finally started to click and now I just want to keep improving. And yeah buddy, he’s been my crew chief and driving instructor 😂
I highly recommend it! Once I got a taste of what it's like to throw it sideways in a controlled fashion I was hooked. Definitely fun to have a car related hobby that allows me to really drive the car for what it was intended to do.
Hey how has the kit been? I'm interested since it looks like you got the Upper control arms too. I was planning on getting some FUCAs and eventually the Mantis kit. How have they held up? I'm deciding between them and the voodoo 13s
Dude… it has been fucking amazing! Buy the mantis kit and don’t look back. The car is silly fun to drive at angle, it’s like a cheat code haha. And the quality is some of the best I’ve seen and their customer service rock. You’d think I’m sponsored by FDF based on this review but I assure you I paid full price, I just love it
@@avengednick haha thanks for the response. I'll pick up the whole kit later then. A lot cheaper than v13 too. I have their diff brace I'm about to install in a bit and it seems solid
So they offer two kits, the Mantis and the Mega Mantis. The Mega Mantis adds a fabricated knuckle making it more adjustable and provides more angle but also pushes the track width out to where you would need wider fenders. I talked to Josiah (FDF Owner) about both kits before buying and because I street drive the car and wanted to keep the stock body for now, the Mantis kit made more sense for me. I've driven with it now two and from two track days and couldn't be more thrilled with my purchase. It totally transformed the car.
That’s dope I don’t think I’ve seen you out at evergreen yet but I had a quick question I’m trying to ball on a budget and I’m gonna be picking up the gk tech bolt on kit cuz stock angle ain’t cutting it anymore. Have you had any steering binding issues with the added angle? I just don’t want my Z to drive like my s13 did and can’t find much info online. I’ve heard too many horror stories with running rack offset spacers so I’d rather not.
I’ve only made it out to 3 events at evergreen since moving back but I’ll definitely be at more this season! I haven’t personally had any issues with binding but given the kit swaps out all the arms, the geometry is all correct for the new setup. I actually had the gktech kit before this and a buddy installed it on his car and had issues with it binding and was told to get the upper arms. I was planning to add the upper arms and maybe the lowers, at which point it was close to the cost if the FDF kit so I splurged.
@@avengednick awesome thanks for the info.. I guess I should just ball out and get the fdf kit, I know a few people that have it and everything I’ve heard has been really good about those kits
@@zain142 if you can swing it, I definitely recommend it. My driving was night and day after installing the kit and I’m blow away by the quality. Can’t recommend it enough!
What size rims and offset are you running? I have rpf1s 18x9.5 +15 and they hit the knuckle. Don't want the lobster look so I'm getting new wheels for the front
Hey they’re actually Prime Suspension coilovers, which after a little research I found out was a sub company of Fortune Auto that has since been discontinued. They’ve been pretty solid, but with the 14k springs it’s a bit stiff and doesn’t let the car squat or dive enough on track. So I’m planning to upgrade to some Fortune Auto 510’s in the future. I have a set of 500 series for my wagon, so I’m fully on board with Fortune Auto!
Congratulations on pursuing your dreams. It looks like you are slowly getting the hang of it. Looks like fun!
Slowly but surely! Time to get more seat time
Hyped for you, man! so sick seeing those slides come together! And saw ya boy Quinn helping out.

Thanks for bringing us yet another vibe 🥂 enjoyed
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it!
Dang, I gotta try drifting at some point. Looks like a ton of fun man!

No way, I seen this thing for sale on Marketplace 🙁 Too bad the money ain’t there for me I’d love to buy this thing. Such a nice seat time build!
Yup that’s it! Never thought I’d sell it but had an opportunity to buy a car I couldn’t pass up. Hopefully I build another Z one day!

@@avengednick Also wondering, what front wheel setup are you running? Is it easy to clear the kit?
So what makes the kit you got more “streetable” than the other kit?

Mine are 18x9.5 +10
Ohhh you're running regular mantis kit yeah? So stock knuckle
Are those Fortune Auto coilovers that you have and if so how do you like them
