Just so beginners know, GloFish are NOT a different species of fish. For most stores, the GloFish consist of tiger barbs, zebra fish, and black skirt tetra. These fish NEED a MINIMUM of 20 gallons, not the 5 or 10 gallon kits that the company offers. All 3 types of these fish are schooling fish so they need a minimum of 6, for tiger barbs its best to have more than 6 as they are semi-aggressive. So when searching for the care of glofish, search the care for the actual type of fish and not just the "glofish" in general
Nacho Macho321 no, they made the first ones for experimental use by injecting a fluorescent gene into embryos, and then bred them many times until there was a huge chain of them, all taking their flourescence from their parents. The Glo Fish company sells these, but other companies may inject or dye the fish.
Yeah you have no idea what you’re talking about. Idk about the barbs but the skirt tetra glofish and zebra danio glofish will do just fine in a 10 gallon as long as you don’t overstock

That's not actually true. There are a lot of misconceptions about GloFish. Firstly, they aren't painted or injected with anything. Scientists actually inserted genes from corals and glowing jellyfish into these fish to allow them to glow. The glowing doesn't actually hurt the fish, and when they breed, the frys/babies glow as well. So, yes, they are genetically modified animals, but this doesn't mean that it hurts them.
PAUL!!!! I need to let you know. That "jellyfish decoration you got i've heard is very dangerous to fish!!! I don't remember if it was the paint or whatever chemical is on it, but it comes off and harms the fish. Please be wary.

the jellyfish looking thing with the pink tips out of your tank. Those are known for leaking toxins in the tank and will kill your fish and crash your cycle!
just letting you know... those neon anemone things make this really gross gel stuff on top of the tank after a while.. it killed one of my betas (edit: the thing u called “the jellyfish”)
That thing seems to be modeled after a bubble tip anemone. It's a saltwater creature, and its quite interesting to watch. Go check them out on UA-cam! And rip your betta... :(

Make sure the florucent light isn't on for more then 4 hours a day!! It's bad for the fish. Also, make sure the parameters are low enough to sustain a living fish! Happy keeping friend!
Glofish and their accessories are such a gimmick. They're made to catch a kid's attention so their parents buy it on impulse. These are real fish with real needs, every single one of those glofish species needs at the very least 20 gallons of swimming space and most of them are schoolers, which means you need at least 6 fish for them to be comfortable, however many of the glofish themed tanks are only 5-10 gallons. It makes me sick.
Mr. Mac he can take care of them but glo fish aren't natural that are superficial and it's cruel to support Paul's doing it because he thinks it will help his UA-cam or he's interested in glofish
I hit the bell! I just love your videos. Since 1996 I’ve had aquariums in my place. I had a 55 gallon in the living room, a 10 gallon in the dining room, a 29 gallon in my bedroom. I mainly had cichlids except for the 10 gallon. I tried unsuccessfully to have goldfish or guppy’s in it. The guppy’s did a lot better. I love fancy and plain goldfish but have never had luck with them. I’ve been doing some research and have learned a bit about them. I retired in 2013 and gave my aquariums to my son and moved away. Now that I came back to the area(California), my son has gifted me a 150 gallon aquarium that I have against the dining room wall. He gave it to me decorated beautifully. He’s going to get it ready for me to finally get the beloved goldfish I’ve been wanting. I love your videos. I’m going to share with my son as I’ve turned him into an aquarium lover 😊👍
Heyyyy you learned it actually takes time to cycle, here’s what you do, add some source of ammonia, this could be fish food or actual liquid ammonia (you can buy liquid ammonia online). Then add some liquid bacteria as instructed (you can use flourish start, Aquavitro seed, or dr Tim’s bio bacteria). Test the water one week later and make sure there is no ammonia, if ammonia is zero then you can add fish. Please use this! I really love your channel so much!

I had 4 glo fish 3 died they were red and two yellows😢😢😢☹ one survived and know we had him for one year. Its still alive we named him blue but then changed it to King because he survived for a loooonnng time☺☺☺☺😁
Same I had four two greens one pink and one purple and both greens died 😢 but the pink and purple seem to be fine it's just big pet stores put to many in one tank and not all of them get to eat

They had half gallon tank and said it was fine for a betta! Sure for travel but not for life! I tried to pick out the best tank (abt 2 and a half gallons) and stabalize the water.
Fun video, im getting 8 glo tetra and putting them in a 40 gallon tank soon so im looking around to see how people decorate theirs. Im gonna go for real plants though. If i may make a suggestion for your tetra, put in a piece of tested driftwood or some other bigger plants in one corner. They prefer an open swim area in addition to a place to hide. The option makes them less stressed. Ide consider a 20 gallon or bigger upgrade when you can as well. And a bottom feeding like a glo shark but only if you get a bigger tank.

Glow fish are tropical fish so you need a heater. After you get a heater you have to wait at least a week for the water to filter through and get the right temperature. Also don’t leave the led lights on for a while. No more than 12 hours a day. Because I left mine on for the whole day for a while, it took a week for my half of my water to evaporate. It also caused a lot of algae growth. I suggest getting so algae conditioner to prevent algae from growing but still don’t keep the lights on for a while. Best of luck!!!
Maybe he finally started listening. I've been seeing his videos a lot and I've noticed that he never does research, he never cycles his tanks until probably this one, he never quarantines new fish. I think hes promoting the hobby in an errant manner.

These neon tank ornaments were really big in England in the eighties and nineties. I don't remember the neon fish though. I think most people just had them in with goldfish. They look really funky with just the special lighting on.

Glow fish are tropical fish so you need a heater. After you get a heater you have to wait at least a week for the water to filter through and get the right temperature. Also don’t leave the led lights on for a while. No more than 12 hours a day. Because I left mine on for the whole day for a while, it took a week for my half of my water to evaporate. It also caused a lot of algae growth. I suggest getting so algae conditioner to prevent algae from growing but still don’t keep the lights on for a while. Best of luck!!!

Maybe he finally started listening. I've been seeing his videos a lot and I've noticed that he never does research, he never cycles his tanks until probably this one, he never quarantines new fish. I think hes promoting the hobby in an errant manner.

@@bigrometv I'm saying he doesn't research because every once in a while he says something that is very ignorant in relation to a hobby that he is deep into. I'm saying that he doesn't cycle his tanks because he shows in his videos how he sets a tank up, heads out, and adds fish. I'm saying that he doesn't quarantine because at his whim he decides to buy fish and add it to an established tank right from the baggie it was put into from the pet store. Everything I said is factual based on the videos. I do watch his videos and I do like some of them, and that doesn't mean I have to agree with everything he does and that doesn't mean I shouldn't call him out if what I think he's doing is incorrect. I'm not bashing him or anything, I'm saying these are things that he should be doing as a pet keeper.

These neon tank ornaments were really big in England in the eighties and nineties. I don't remember the neon fish though. I think most people just had them in with goldfish. They look really funky with just the special lighting on.
