wow, my childhood was in versova and i remember seeing all these rich flora and fauna till 2000, we never had to go to goa to feel the beauty of the sea, the beaches were clean and all sea creatures thrived easily on mumbai beaches....seriously the coastal road has destroyed nature in an unprecedented way which only a few people will understand !!

Hope this reaches its audience and people get to know about hte splendid intertidal world which is home for so many creatures. Only when people know what lives in these spaces, will they want to protect it. Only then they will know the cost of developmental projects along the coast. Fingers crossed.

I've noticed a problem in a lot of your videos. The entire patch of subtitles gets displayed at 0:17 .
They don't sequentially like dialogues does and given how valuable the information is, I feel a lot of key terms and understanding gets overlooked and obscure.
    Please look into this.

Hi! Thanks so much for writing about this. We're sorry you are facing this problem. We usually add a set of English subtitles with timestamps which can be chosen as 'English (United Kingdom)' on the subtitle menu. We cross-checked this issue and it doesn't seem to be a problem on our devices, where sentences are appearing in sections sequentially as they should. Can you check if you've selected the right subtitle (mentioned above) and let us know if you're still facing this issue?

Can't something be done still to protect what's left ? Tap all the authorities again & again please. Very tragic if all this marine bounty vanishes.

    असा विकास काय कामाचा; जिथे संपूर्ण अन्न साखळीच धोक्यात येते. या मार्गाची खरच गरज आहे का कुणाला?

Just wait till the day when the Sea will RECLAIM its rightful place again !! and it will happen. we have destroyed so much in the name of development. Rather than creating new infrastructures, they very well could have made rules to own lesser vehicles. one family of 4 owns 3 different vehicles -- Why ??? why cant they take public transportation for short distances. Mumbai has the cheapest public transport cost of any city in the world !! just Rs 5 for a bus ride , Rs. 10 for a train ride !! the entire city's ecosystem and its habitat be it with animals birds aquatic life or humans are all negatively effected just for fake human ego, Human status !! We have successfully destroyed so many species, some are even extinct !! if we had rules for driving vehicles as MH02's can be out on the roads only on Mondays and Thursdays, MH04's of Tuesdays and Fridays, other state cars only on Saturdays ect we would never need another new road !!! the existing road network is more than sufficient. What is the shame in using public transport !! Rather have more buses or trains or metro cars. Mumbai is just a group of islands. How much can this land bear !! there is rampant construction and digging in almost every corner in Mumbai be it for Metro, residential, commercial buildings, now coastal road. old 3 and 4 storey buildings are now redeveloped to 30 and 40 storey !! imagine the amount of weight that has gone up on the land.. its over 50 times !!
they have even made a tunnel under Malabar hill and the sea itself !! Its just a matter of time when all this will come crumbling down. God forbid even a minor earthquake or anything like tsunami has to come to Mumbai - it will knock Mumbai back to the stone ages !! There should be a complete halt on any kind of construction for next 50 years for Mumbai to get back to normal again. last 10 years have seen severe flooding thanks to concrete roads. the rain water has nowhere to go !!! the summer temperatures are rising over 3 degrees year on year. again thanks to the concrete form all the construction. newly built buildings are experiencing cracks and leakage issues within 3 years of construction. Why are we failing to notice these warnings !! It is going to cost a lot of life, limb and money if God forbid any natural calamity has to strike on Mumbai. As much as I love this city, I am very scared for this city. been a Mumbai person for over 45 years !! it hurts to see it getting destroyed slowly.
