Good info as always, Ed! I remember when Duane bought his tractor and thought he's gonna convert to SSQA in the future! Totally agree on the forks....so useful.
Great video Ed! Thanks for the mention. Anybody new to tractors who are shopping around should watch this video. I don't understand how John Deere gets away with a proprietary system that appears to be nothing more than a money grab.
I agree Haxman. I think they have made a mistake doing that. I have been a John Deere guy my entire life until 2019 when I bought my L2501 Kubota. There is nothing in the Deere lineup that comes close to Kubota. In my opinion. The plastic hoods, aluminum rear ends, and the low lifting capacity are all things that made the Deere’s more appealing for lawn care than my useage.
Hey Ed! Good stuff there on the SSQA system! One reason I got a Kubota instead of a John Deere is they are fond of proprietary systems instead of industry standards. I LOVE having the SSQA and so glad I paid a littler more to have it. So everyone listen to Ed. Don’t be a Ninny and fail to get a SSQA. You’ll regret it if you don’t.
I love my system on my John Deere 2038R it takes me literally a couple seconds to take the bucket off I have no problems with that it works really well but great video I enjoyed watching 👍
Good Morning Ed, Yes In Deed OUTSTANDING Informative Video about the SSQA ( Skid Steer Quick Attach ) but they can change it by buy it an adapter from pine on to SSQA or like my best friend Joe ( from steel to wood ) has made himself using my front SQQA as template 😇👍👌🚧🚧 Yes OUTSTANDING tips and do make sure that you are not disconnecting it when your foot are near ( Ask GP Outdoor or myself why !!! ) 😮🚧🚧Again Ed, Outstanding informative video and fun blooper 😇👍👌 Love the music ending video Sir 👌👍🧐 Cheers 🍻🍻
Great explanation of the different attachment types available. Neil at Dig Drive DIY has an excellent tutorial on what's involved to modify a pin on bucket to make it SSQA compatible.
Great video and information, thanks. I have not done a lot of investigation but we appear to a number of different quick attach systems over here. I do like the SSQA system and we are think of converting a compact tractor to SSQA
Great video as always! I had originally not went with the SSQA system and changed my mind last minute and am very happy I did! I'll be picking my pallet forks next week so I'm stoked about that :). Cheers from Ontario Canada!
A suggestion for owners of the ssqa. I bought a used 2021 Kioti CK3510 SE 2 with 195 hours on it two months ago with the ssqa. This week I bought pallet forks. When I tried to install the forks I couldn't get the bucket off. Those locking pins were rusted and wouldn't release. I had to spray them with WD-40 and beat them out with a hammer. Then I took them out and sanded them. Taking those pins out was no easy feat believe me and reinstalling them was worse! Word to the wise.... keep those pins sprayed with WD-40 or some other rust preventative.
I didn't know you could still get a pinned on bucket. It aught to standard the come wit a quick attach. The very first kubota l bought had a pinned on bucket. It was 25 years old when I bought it. Great tractor just limited to the bucket only. Your right Ed, quick attach or SSQA is the only way to go.
The only reason I don't regret getting a pin-on bucket, is because when I bought my B2301 last year... the best the dealer could say on when they might be able to get a SSQA-equipped tractor was "maybe in a year" instead of "give us a week to get it prepped". If/when I convert it to SSQA, that'll still have been cheaper than the repeat tractor rentals (or paying someone else to do the work) I avoided in that time.
Excellent tutorial Ed! I’ve got a backhoe so I’m wondering, if a stump bucket is worth the cost? I can see it coming in handy from time to time, I’m just not convinced…it’s worth the cost and storage space.
Hi Keith. I don’t think you’d need a stump bucket if you have a backhoe. It’s a great limited alternative for those of us without a backhoe. Thanks very much!
Yes, just get an adapter plate to pin on instead of your bucket. The down fall with this is you now have to cut off your pins on your bucket and weld on a quick attach plate to the back of your bucket to use the quick attach or keep switching out your pin on bucket with the pin on quick attach.
I have a new farntrac 25 hp with front loader,,i racked or warped the quick attach when one side came unlatched,,now its almost impossible to attach bucket to where i can lock it in,,,other than cuttng and rewelding is there a affordabel aftermarket repalcement quick attach that i could replace my existing warped one..i see some cheap john deere ones but they only have 2 holes on bottom and not the four holes like is on my loader
Are all ssqa the same width? If I want to get an attachment for my kioti cx2510, are they all interchangeable? Or do you have to find attachments that work with specific models of tractors based on dimensions?
I would check with a dealer, but I would think all the SSQA for compact and subcompact tractors are the same dimensions. Maybe there is a larger version for other machines?
Don't forget resale value. I wouldn't buy another loader tractor without ssqa now that I have a few ssqa attachments. I do believe the John Deere qa is better but not that much better.

Thanks Adam. It may be a pride factor. Like Kubota not giving up the treadle pedal even though most others seem to prefer dual pedals. 🤷🏻♂️

Thanks Martin. Now if there were just a way to operate the SSQA without getting off the tractor. 😉
@@MyClutteredGarage Shhhhhh! You’ll give it way!
Great explanation Ed as always. I wish my John Deere had the skid steer quick connect as well..
Thanks John. The JDQA is a good system. Just not quite as easy to find attachments as SSQA.
Very nice tractor 101 video. Before I bought my Kubota, this is the type of video I devoured for info. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you. I really appreciate that! -Ed
💥 Now I get it! 😊 nice video Ed!
*Keep on tractoring!*
Maybe a little basic for a highly experienced tractor operator like you, Jon! 👍😄
Great video Ed!!! Also love the ending with all the Fun Action shots!!! Have a great weekend😁👍🚜💨☀
Thanks Mitch!

@@MyClutteredGarage no problem I enjoy watching the videos it’s a pretty good system I do have to say 👍
Excellent explanation on the convience of the SSQA for all the potential attachments a tractor user may need !
Great Video well done
Thank you, Phil!
Great explanation Ed. I can say with certainty that my next tractor will definitely have an SSQA! 👍😎
Chris, does your LX not have SSQA?
Most assuredly! But the next tractor will definitely have one too. 😉👍😁
Just my meager attempt at humor.

Nice overview, I'm so glad I went with SSQA for my Kubota BX23s. Thanks for showing how it works.

Ed there is a third quick attach which is call Global quick attach. Usually found on larger loaders.

Would a skid steerer quick attachment work on a larger tractor? Ford 545d 66HP, 5000lb bucket lift capacity. thanks
👍!
My biggest regret in life is I did not get the quick attach system!! 😢
Next time, Ernest. Or change it. If you have a Kubota, watch HAXMANs video in the description.
