  • How To Install a 10/22 Bolt Buffer.
In this Installation Video, we install a Tuffer Buffer brand Bolt Recoil Buffer in our 10/22
The Tuffer Buffer Replaces the factory Bolt Stop Pin & Prevents Excessive Wear to the Bolt and Receiver.
Durable, abrasion resistant Tuffer Buffer bolt buffer prevents contact between the bolt and steel stop pin to eliminate battering. Acts like a shock absorber to provide smooth, quiet cycling without the metal-to-metal contact that so easily stretches the bolt stop pin holes in the receiver. Replaces bolt stop pin at rear of receiver. Polyurethane construction is resistant to most solvents, we offer a Lifetime Guarantee.
You can buy this Recoil Buffer at www.TriggerShims.com/ along with Shim Kits and Gun Spring Kits

I like your videos because they arent filled with unnecessary jibber jabber. They show just what i need to know. One thing i haven't installed on my 10/22 yet is a buffer, so i ordered one of yours. Thank you very much.

one of the first things i did for my 10-22 was put in a nylon buffer...it has made a world of difference. of course being very mechanically inclined (haaa), i did it without really doing any research. my wife laughed and giggled at me, at first. it worked out in the wash anyway. then, the extended mag release, volquortsen trigger, extended bolt handle, m-1 carbine look-a-like stock kit...you're getting the idea--modifications. lately, she's not laughing at me much any more. but i wanted to take a moment to say thanks for putting the install video out there. keep up the good work.
    semper fi, carry on!!

Just found out about this little rascal so I got on youtube and found your video right off. Excellent Sir! I am mechanically inclined, I can screw up anything. But your video shows how even a klutz like me should be able to replace the buffer painlessly. I am ordering a punch set first, then a Tuffer Buffer. I will let you know how it turns out.
FYI-I have the blued Target version of the 10/22. Real tackdriver. Your SS really rocks! Again, Thank You for showing this easy yet valuable modification!

This video sucked! I was all prepared to spend some quality time modifying my new Ruger 10/22 with this Tuffer Buffer and got myself all comfortable to begin the task at hand. I didn't even get to finish my can of Diet Pepsi! You should've made it more difficult so that I could've shown my wife how proficient I was at tweaking my little plinker! But Nnnooooo, you went and made it so simple that someone like me could have it all done and not break a sweat of worry!!!
All kidding aside, you did a great job breaking it down step by step 'Sir! I am now subscribed to your channel! Well done and thank you!

Thank You For Your Videos! The T/CR22 basically a 10/22 clone. The polyurethane pin is much tighter. I had to put a little oil on it to get it in. Even with the oil it take 3-5 minutes to get it in.

There can also be some variance in buffers, I think the range of tolerance can be about .002"
If you have a tight receiver, and a big buffer, it can indeed be tough.
If you would like to exchange it, send it back with an SASE bubble envelope or $4 for return postage, and I will replace it for you.

This will be my next mod. My current buffer doesn't even require a pin to drive it out. It just falls out every time I take the gun apart. Drives me crazy. Looks like this one will stay in place. Thanks.
