I agree with said above, a solution looking for a problem. After 1000s of rounds through the 6 I have, I've never had a need to have a 1200 dollar 1022.
If you run a suppressor it’s worth it. It’s not that much more than a standard receiver.
Considering you can just swap the receiver onto a 10/22, it’s more like half that cost. Also kind of ironic youve spent at least 1500 dollars in buying 6 of them…
i was just shopping for a new 10-22 last week and was surprised at the sales and low prices of the firearms lately.. now this really has me re-thinking a new purchase! the timmimg is suspicous.. as if Brownells has been following me around??.. hahahahah great video! always!
No it google that follows and listen. Thru phones and apps and web searches. Saves a whole lot researching. Unless you’re a conspiracy theorist 😅then maybe a bit paranoia would seep in
Pretty neat. Great to see allkinda cool stuff made a bit differently.
Very cool design!!! My only complaint is my 10/22 rifle cost half of what this upgrade cost when it was new.
If @DesertTech would make a Treck22 that was compatible with this 11/22 it would be gold!!!
I hope Ruger will implement this idea in their PCC carbine. That would be a very cool idea !!!!
Dang that’s cool! Wouldn’t mind getting one to build a steel challenge 10/22 rifle from the ground up!
Why all the worry over cleaning a 10/22. The last time I cleaned mine Caleb was wearing short pants, and it works fine. So you only need to do it twice a year 🤠.
It's cool, but just the receiver alone is the cost of a whole entry level 10/22
I'm sure you can find an AR stock that costs the same as an entire PSA rifle. It's just the nature of mass production vs. semi custom stuff.
Can the Fletcher receiver accept the standard Ruger bolt & charging handle? Good video. Thanks.
It’s been on my favorites since shot
Be pretty cool if Brownells had the full rail version on the site to buy.
Thanks a lot for showing it!!
I haven't cleaned my 10/22 barrel since Caleb said I shouldn't waaay back on a smyth busters.
I have one and I like it.
I’ll need some compatible peep sights before I buy one.
@@lucasblanchard47
My ARs and carry guns get optics.
My .22s get that sweet aperture action.
@@lucasblanchard47
1- Expense: I’ll spend about $100 upgrading a rifle to a set of good iron sights. I’d spend 2-4 times that to equip a good scope and set of rings, or suitable electro-optic.
2-Utility: I do have a couple .22s with scopes, but their intended role is specifically served by them. Most of my .22s are for small-game and training. The peep sights serve more than adequately for those roles. Similarly my 45-70s and .357 rifles are the same.
3- Weight and handiness: Irons just make for a lighter and more streamlined system in most cases.
Great concept but I still think the Brownell’s receiver is a more appealing option for me.
That's amazing, excellent work!
Is there going to be a TAKEDOWN model sometime, and would it work with Midwest Inovations Bottom Housing & Their TAKEDOWN M-Lock Forend Handguard?
If so, I would immediately throw hundreds of dollars your way as soon as possible 😅
check fletcher rifle works site, and he has a takedown receiver.i just ordered one.
it will be the perfection of my ruger carbine going back to the walnut stocked original I bought at 18. so long ago👴
Gonna get one and make a 2nd 10/22 with the guts
Silly people, you don’t clean a 10/22 😝
I always just blast them with some rem action cleaner then a few drops of whatever oil is closest lol
I haven't cleaned mine in 10 years, took it out last weekend and it's functioning just fine
can y'all do some content with some actual low cost budget firearm parts and accessories say for like AR's/AK's etc.. us poor's cannot afford luxuries such as that. maybe like some good affordable drop in triggers under $99.99 or even the new designed barrel profile that Brownell's just came out with, in collaboration with Rosco Mfg. I would like to hear about that especially if I can get it in a 15.1" or 13.7" barrel length
good drop in AR trigger for under $100 I've seen is either a LaRue MBT2S or the PSA match 3.5lb single stage (I have one and like it a lot), but you're not gonna see Brownell's hawking PSA parts/guns because obvious...
Drop in triggers sub 100 bucks before taxes and shipping ( depending where you live)
Larue single/ two stage triggers.
Aimsurplus ssat
Alg act
Bcm pnt
Cmc singe stage (palmetto usually go on sale)
Geissele g2s ( if you can swing an extra 30-40$)
Timney triggers (dunno the exact names cause theres a plethora they Make for ar15s)
If your able to save up I'd get a geissele during 4th of july sale, since its right around the corner. Memorial 2023 weekend just past. Bought 2 more geissele's.. SDC and SSP with flat triggers. Never owned a flat trigger from them before. I won't say I'm a trigger whore but I do own 3 act, 2 mbt2s (1 flat and 1 curved bow), 2x g2s, SSP curved, tricon, ssa-e and bcm pnt.
Ive tried ssat and atc and cmc's on friends guns. And the elftmann trigger. All are nice. Ive seen cassette type triggers fail tho. Like it locked up internally. Which is why I stick to drop in triggers.
Now that is useful.
I like the concept but I still hate the 10/22 standard barrel mount system!
The newer folding 10/22 barrel system with this top opening would be better.
Even better yet would be this top opening with a side folding system similar to the one used on the FoldAR rifles. That's a slick folding and take down system.
I’m not too familiar with which part of a 10/22 is considered the firearm, would this need to go through an FFL?
Good idea if you run suppressed
YYYYYEEEEESSSSS!
thank you
The Fletcher 11/22 frame I bought from Brownells does not fit the stock from Houge. This is a serious problem problem. They don’t align with each other.
Awesome
Didn't the company say that you lose zero on the sight whenever you open it?
Why not just make a forward flip open hatch? How about making a pump action style charging stock?
Does this include the patented dwell mechanism for reliable loading that Ruger has?
People need to think! The strength and rigidity of a receiver that is paramont to your rifles accuracy has been comprised! Also back hole for cleaning rod will require removal from most wooden stocks😅
i have shot several 0,25 to 0,38“ groups at 50 yards with these receivers in a row without a flyer with anschütz barrels and batch tested ammo
What about the bull barrels?
Nice
That is so quick and easy 😂
Can you do a video on the Strike Industries Modular Fixed Carbine Stock?
@@MilkyRob I did and the LOP is way too short. I even got the extended butt pad and it's still really short. I like the sturdiness of that stock but wish it were 1.5 inches longer. I dont understand why Magpul made it so short. It's supposed to be for an AR carbine, not a pistol.
Genius!
Are those receivers serial numbered? And do they have to be sent to an FFL dealer?
Azimuth receiver?
Will this work with the TakeDown version of the 10/22 barrel?
I just ordered a td receiver
pics look gr8 and I'm betting it'll be worth the cost
Why no pic rail on the sliding door part?
you can get it with or without. buy 2 picatinney doors and you can use a scope and a red dot pre-zeroed
Seems like a solution looking for a problem.
Why not get a AR22 at this point 😅
$250-$275.
😮
This. This.
👍😎
Interesting
Why doesn't it have a 1913 rail on top of the receiver? And it looks look they forgot to shape
the top or made a mistake and milled to much from the top. Nice concept, not done well. IMHO
@ejharbet6390 Thanks. Good to know. It still looks like they stopped half in finishing the machining. If I were doing it I would make sure it looked better than the original.
Imagine if the 10/22 had a .17 hmr variant.
They do! Made right here in Iowa they are not cheap. They are considered the Cadillac of 10/22's.
Look up Volquartsen rifles.
Why?
If taking the bolt out is that big of an issue, why not buy Winchester Wildcat for $200?
Not having a rail that can be changed is an issue. If I need a 30 MOA rail it wont work. Every stock I have would need to be altered to take this new takedown pin on the left. Needs improved functionality. In fairness with a recessed plate on the main screw and a proper torque screw and driver its a lot better an option. 10/22 s take seconds to take apart once you can quickly unscrew the main screw and push out the buffer.
*NO!*
Assembly of a 10/22 action is basically a felony.
That one even has assault weapon like receiver pins!
@@carloshernandez2561 I was joking. UA-cam is anti gun and if you show any kind of firearm assembly they often censor the channel.
You $$$ @ 350
Wow, they solved a problem that doesn't exist.
Not much of a rail for a scope.
They didn't have much choice. You don't want to mount a scope or sight to a jiggly part such as a sliding top for accuracy reasons.
So American. Can't waste two minutes on work, there's a buffet line calling.
Says the guy with Auschwitz concentration camp in his profile? Where you from?
"looking jacked biff, way to crush it with the 1997 Houston Texas fat jokes"
Puts the scope WAY to far forward,no thankyou
Looks like it simplifies the bolt/charging handle and spring installation. It's a PITA on the standard models.
