    "I activate Imaginary Reactor's effect.
    This monster allows me to send 2 cards from my top of the deck to the GY.
    And since I have Monster Reincarnation in my GY, i can place it at the bottom of my deck, allowing me to draw 2 new cards from my deck."
    This truly sounds like a longer pot of greed joke.

    Right now, this deck has me torn. Given that Metarion has so many multi-choice effects that can be used to get out of almost every situation, I genuinely enjoy how versatile the deck is, which is part of what can make Metarion so enjoyable. However, what I mentioned in the Cyber Dragon video regarding Cyber Dragons can also be said here, as you mentioned in the introduction and deck breakdown, it could end up resulting in unfun games where you abruptly OTK the opponent out of nowhere.
    I am uncertain how to feel about the sudden power shift from the Sevens era to the Go Rush age when decks are getting stronger and faster without giving us more ways of defending ourselves. Just having Buffered Slime and Negate Attack is not good enough anymore. Deciding on whenever you win or lose a game based on who sees or uses Negate Attack or not feels really bad.

    • @cindertoffy3013

      Accurate. The power jump has been relatively steady, then boom. Go Rush has upped that substantially.
      Very fun, but the lack of defence is clear. Hopefully remedied soon.

      Looking at the power increase between SEVENS and GO RUSH, I'd say the main culprits are Rush's Cyber Dragon, the Skills that allow for easier Fusion Summon (not all of them since Metarion doesn't benefit from his Skill) and the lack of good support denied during SEVENS Era in Duel Links.
      This last point is curious since I feel that we weren't given the full power of some Decks: Psychic has been denied the three copies of Romanpick, Sevens Road doesn't have its Mirror Force for Spellcaster, Dragon Decks have many 2 to 3-limits to avoid them getting out of control when combining all the Good Dragon Stuff, Cyberse Deck doesn't have its cards that give it enviable Draw power to spam Maximum Summon, Royal Rebel's doesn't have its Spell/Trap Cards that made the difference in Early Rush Duels and Wyrm doesn't have all its support that makes it easy to swarm Monsters in the Field with ease.
      Interestingly, I feel like the Meta would be less powerful if we only had Rush's HERO and GO RUSH's initial Cast Decks. Although this last point is debatable since LIGHT Galaxy is a good Deck right now thanks to Secret Order.
      From there, Jointech and High Tech Dragon are Decks that need help and feel like they belong in the early days of Rush's Duel Links (even their exclusive Skills haven't helped those Decks)

    Looking back at this deck, I was getting so frustrated losing duel after duel with standard Metarion not drawing or seeing Fusion, so I ended up building this weird hybrid of LIGHT Machine and Metarion deck with Ancient Gear Golem with 3 Steel Mech Lord Mirror Innovator and 2 Ultimate Flag Beast Surge Bicorn. Now hear me out before I get called out; it ended up working so much better than on paper. Let me explain. Hammer Crush Deal with 3 Hammer Crushes is being run for plus 1s with the draw, backrow hate to clear Negate Attack/Widespread and the Slime, and the discard set up for Star Restart and for the LIGHT Machine package.
    The LIGHT Machine package works really well with Metarion, with the actors being LIGHT Machine so you can recycle them with Innovator and Bicorn. It also can allow the use of the Reactor + Monster Reincarnation combo multiple times in one duel because Reactor puts the Reincarnation on the bottom of your deck, but Innovator and Bicorn shuffle your deck, so if you're lucky enough, you can just pop off and draw a billion cards. It also helps Metarion by giving you Main Deck boss monsters, so if you whiff on Fusion, you're not as useless as a standard Metarion deck would be, with the downside of not being versatile with Metarion Script sending Reincarnation for Reactor, but you can't win them all.
    But the Metarion package helps out the LIGHT Machine package because Metarion Vritrastar can flip monsters face-down for Golem and Innovator to pierce over and keep the pressure going, as well as Ashurastar popping backrow and potentially OTKing against Warrior decks if that comes up.
    But my favourite thing about this entire deck is the grind game with Innovator and Bicorn just letting you recycle your boss monsters and the tribute fodder out over and over and over again... and from the pressure the Metarion monsters put on with the piercing duo of Golem and Innovator, the opponent is just going to crumble under that pressure. I've beaten LIGHT Galaxy, Psychic, Cyberse, Metarion and all sorts with it, getting as high as a 10 game win streak with the deck. I think this is a cool spin on Metarion that I don't think I have seen anywhere else online. I can send the decklist to anyone who is interested but am mostly curious of what Tomatosaurs thinks of this deck idea.

    • @Tomatosaurs
      @Tomatosaurs  12 днів тому

      I've actually already tried something similar in point battles already and I know others have as well. The idea works and has some upsides, but at the same time feels like it's not doing either strategy optimally. Overall I'd say that the deck can get results, but i'm not sure we'd see it win a tournament any time soon.

    The warrior fusion is 100% the best fusion. It's either a facedown pop or you just win the game. I love the deck. I wish it was just a bit more consistent though

    • @ProphecyPhrase
      @ProphecyPhrase 21 день тому +3

      The consistency issues is why I don't play Barrage of Steel and dropped 1 Type Change Beam to play 3 Ghost Cyclone just for that potential chance to dig a little bit deeper to find those moving pieces like the Actor, the other Fusion Material, or Fusion itself. I have missed Barrage at times and that has lost me the game here and there but that draw 1 off Cyclone has also been a lifesaver. We are missing a few cards to help with that consistency but I think with how the player base reacted to Overlord in it's prime they don't want a deck that can OTK you out of nowhere consistency although they released Cyber Dragon in the state it's in right now sooooo...

      @@joshuaweiss9091 Yeah there's no real end all answer. Barrage of Steel is more flexible letting you use it even with monsters on your field but Ghost Cyclone's draw can decide everything. Even as writing this I'm unsure if Ghost Cyclone even is optimal since the only backrow that stops Metarions is Negate Attack but blowing up useful backrow like Seal Array, Fusion, and the like can be useful as well.

    • @ProphecyPhrase

      @@brunosanto3488 I feel like LIGHT Galaxy would definitely see more play if it wasn't the most expensive out of the new decks, needing both 3 copies of Galactica and Secret Order. You can get away with 2 Galactica if you play 3 Cosmo Titan but the dragon is more optimal. It's a very strong deck that feels more consistent than Cyber Dragon and Metarion but when those latter decks pop off they can pop off harder. Them being cheaper helps a lot too as not many people like to spend a lot of resources of Rush which is fair which makes them see more play despite they can brick harder. If LIGHT Galaxy wasn't as expensive to build I think more people would be playing it right now. Meteor Charge is such a good card man I won't lie, and I need to play it more some time after messing around with Metarion some more.

  • @bluehex13x
    @bluehex13x 18 днів тому +1

    After climbing all the way to kog with metarion script, I can say they are definitely strong, but cydra is stronger. The deck is REALLY prone to bricking, if you don't see 1 fusion early or don't draw into reactor early for the draw power, is over. Cydra can beat over the fusions by boosting search, assault, by using AG Golem, by using Assault cannon into a boosted regular Cydra, PLENTY of ways. Not to mention, Cydra has more utility in their spell slots, since they can run talismanic, tribute, and a few other things. Metarion is pretty much always gonna be the same if you run script so 90% is okay to swing blindly and they won't have stuff to protect themselves. Cyber twin is also insanely powerful at this point in rush, more-so with a skill that lets you search fusion or a free mat.
    However, all of this inconsistency that we have does let us straight up win sometimes with type change into ashurastar, so I'm not complaining lmao. I feel like the meta right now is light galaxy, spellcasters, and metarion having fun in the playground while cydra is just up there, looming.

  • @kalebstro5580

    I believe turbo main advantage over talismanic seal, is being searcheable by the skill (including from the gy), so if you REALLY need to get over something you have a consistent way to it by just playing it on your deck, while talismanic seal does not have the same utility, although his effect is arguebly better, needing to hard draw it when you can just search turbo is not good enough in my opinion.

    I'm surprised that there are people who say that Metarion is hard to use when Rush's Cyber Dragon and Psychic Deck are there. I could understand the modern version of Metarion in the real Rush Duels format, but Metarion in Rush's Duel Links is pretty simple: bring your Normal Monsters, get Fusion, and kill your opponent with your Fusion Monsters.
    Speaking of Metarion, in some ways I'm glad that it has a chance to shine in Rush's Duel Links. The Deck was decent in the real Rush Duels format, but it benefited greatly from Dragoncaster Deck still being present in the Meta. In Rush's Duel Links, it seems that the format has allowed Metarion to come out on top, although it has some issues against some matchups.
    The Deck, ironically, is also quite cheap to build in my opinion. Outside of Ashurastar, the Deck is fairly easy to build as all the important elements are SR to N or can be obtained through farming. It is also a Deck that I would say does not have its dedicated Skill expand combos or be the win condition as Rush's HERO, Rush's Cyber Dragon or Sevens Paladin Deck do. However, I think the Deck does not need it and has proven to be quite strong in its own right.
    And on the topic of OTK, I feel like there are complaints about Rush's Cyber Dragon OTK over Metarion OTK. I feel like what makes Rush's Cyber Dragon and Metarion not so overwhelming is that they are very prone to being bricked easily (Psychic Deck had this problem, but the Deck felt much more consistent despite the bricks).

      The main difference I see between Cydra otk and Metarion otk is that typically you have an extra card to help survive against cydra but not again metarion. One extra card might not seem like a lot but it is literally double, so it feels impactful.

    Just KoGed on this yesterday with some variation on backrow. I'm really curious as to how they will choose to approach this deck if it becomes a problem come next Goha Cup.
    Imo the best approach is to just limit 1 Monster Reincarnation and Type Change Beam so that removes the source of why it feels so bad to play against the deck and dying to the asspull OTKs while still have the deck retain its identity without having drastic consistency hits as its already somewhat bricky.

    It cheap so many players chippped in and built one.
    But the deck has no inherent way to deal with backrow.
    Has to play with low attack monsters.
    The fusion materials are solely based on luck even with Argent you can only hope to catch Burstinatrix or Avian.
    Their only high attack monster Tantalum somehow bricks the deck especially if you failed to draw and or gather materials for a fusion.

      You also have a skill that lets you beat over basically everything, including 3000 beatsticks like Ancient Gear or Blue-Eyes.
      HERO is also the only deck that can do damage thru Buffered Slime, which is a huge advantage in a game where people only play 2 traps total.

      The talismans from the pack is appreciated and is needed to actually beat over something but it depends on luck if you draw into them otherwise good luck.
      The skill has a cap of 600, most of the time (my games at least) people see Warrior they set Ancient gear golem/Blue eyes. Impossible to beat over for a turn.
      Most of my issue comes from card advantage.
      Needing 2 different material is hard enough. But trying to go 1st is hell.
      I can either if lucky open with argent and get some bodies on board or do fusion and hope my 2100 beatstick doesn't fold over. Already losing 3 cards for a fragile body and the actual decent body Tantalum often lacks tributes after a fusion so from my experience it's just a brick. It's sad too Tantalum is the main form of removal and I can rarely use its effect unless I get lucky with Argent.
