Julia M Usher you're so welcome my Sweet Xx you're such an inspirational lady who I admire so much xx maybe one day I'll produce cookies as stunning as yours 😂😍😘
Julia M Usher these should be collected. If you have a favorite charity, donate to their fundraiser, there must be someone who wants to keep these beautiful art piece on their shelves
I don't have how-to pricing info in my books. But pricing a food item is done the same way no matter what you're pricing. Figure our your food/materials and labor costs (labor costs are much larger than food costs for decorated cookies); then apply a markup that covers your overhead costs and allows you to make some profit after paying overhead costs.
I actually run a few cookie competitions and coming up with the idea is a big part of what the judges evaluate, so I'll have to let her work that one out on her own. :) Many competitions have themes as well, so the piece needs to relate to the theme. But, really, she could look almost anywhere in the real world for inspiration. I wish her the best of luck!
@@canary7214 Are you really, truly angered by my response? I'm astonished if so - I was just being honest. Competitions require that people do their own work, which means coming up with their own ideas. The idea is a big part of the creative process.
Although my wife is an exceptional chef your standards and skills are way in advance of her present skills. Have you made and more basic videos from earlier in your career that would help her to increase her skills/ Thank you for your help🙂
The sources for all of the molds and mats I used are in the video description under the video player. Just click on "SHOW MORE", and you will see a ton of information there. There is one small green mat in the video for which I do not have a source (it was a gift) but SugarVeil makes some similar small medallion mats, and that link is in the description. Thanks for watching.
These are cookies, not a cake, so I am a little confused by your question. However, my cookie dough has some baking soda in it, but I usually cut the regular amount in half when making contoured (rounded) cookies like these. And roll the dough very thin (about 1/8 inch) to prevent cracking of the dough as it bakes over the curved surface.
@@jagoda2115 I still don't understand. I used my recipe here with half of the baking soda I usually do, and the patterns (from embossing it with mats) are quite distinct as you can see in the video, provided you roll the dough as thin as I suggest. Did this answer your question?

How do you go about pricing 3D cookie designs? Is it your books? Thanks

Thankyou Julia! My wife has been given the task of making a 3D biscuit sculpture for a competition have you any ideas??

@@JuliaMUsher I use a translator, I'm from Poland. I asked about the patterns reflected on the mat if they would be accurate with or without soda.
