  • In this video we explain how to repair the cable of wired headphones. In this case it is the JBL Quantum 100 headphones.
When one or both sides of the. headphones stop playing music, then the problem is often withe the cablecliose to the aux jack connector. The small cable tend to break at this location first.
In order to repair our cable, we remove the original jack by cutting the cable about an inch away from the jack.
Then solder the single cables onto a new audio jack. Make sure to solder the wires onto the correct ports inside of the new connector.

@@arqcv1062I'm not sure if my headphone has any on/off button but there is a button to switch on/off the micro. The balance is ok but juste the jack connector doesn't work properly

@@arqcv1062 I suppose that the on/of button is working, the left/right is correct too. my problem is the common problem of the bended shape JBL quantum jack connector; It works only if you press on it

the cord is loose where it goes into the earpiece on mine, you can wiggle it and the other side works. Any recommendations?

Great, thanks! What kind of colored cables are inside? There is no isolation to be removed before solding - as in the past?😅 The isolation is removed by the high temperature? Cheers, Ben

Late reply but yes, the soldering temp did away with the insulation - I guess you can remove it by yourself to test, that's what I always do before applying heat.

Do one thing take a sharp knife with Very sharp top point heat it up on the flame and use it to heat the soldering wire(mild steel) and repeat

That is why I won't buy JBL wired headphones again. Always the same problem. The wires always breaks on the same spot after half a year.
