As an American hats off to MiG for designing such a beast. My all time favorite plane is the MiG 17 but the 29 has a special place in my heart.

@@mikoyanracing6522 in the US you can buy a mig and most older generation fighters but you have to take out every weapons system (excluding smoke pods)

Probably you can buy older models I think. Mig 29 is still in service with many countries. I saw a privately owned MiG-15.

There is a more modern version of MIG-29. Soviet MIG-29s has black smoke. Modern MIG-29SM/SMT and MIG-35 hasn’t black smoke.

Do you feel it's because the plane's inferior technology or is it more on pilot skill? Last encounter I recall is in the Gulf War, 1991.
@@EJ257IHI You could make an argument for pilot skill, but Iraqi pilots had years of combat experience against Iran and Yugoslav pilots were well trained. After the dissolution of the USSR, the US tested them extensively and found them to be inferior. There are Russian fighters like the Su-35 and Su-57 which are direct peer-peer competitors with western fighters but the Mig-29 is not even close and the audacity the people in this video have to claim that it's superior is hard to believe.

@@darksg1295 the mig 29 shot down more then 10 f16's in serbia 1999.And the varianrs given to iraq yugoslavia and germany were the first known variants some of them were even mig 29UB wich didnt even have radars because they were trainers.If more mig 29's flee from the air basses in Serbia there would be a lot more downed f16' and f15's.

The MIG is the Russian counterpart to then f16 they have similar range and payload capacity. The su35 is the Russian equivalent to the f15 the su37 is the Russian f22.

These are all obsolate aircraft - good just for Sundays airshow where families are comming to escape from the kids.
Super manouvrability has been tested in 1990's and the conclussion was that is an advantage to avoid short distance dog fight. All manufacturers since then focused on gaining battle advantage in other ways but mosty to follow the concept - beyound visual range.
Also if pay little attention to details we can notice the old manufacturing spaces, not really lean processes, no health and safety processes and so on... .
The aircraft has instruments with niddles and no (LCD/TFT) glass cockpit They are so far behind other countries...
But the best of all is that the presenter calls a Mig as M.I.G. . As well known the name Mig comes from Mikoyan and Gurevich so it is better spelled MiGe 🤣😂🤣
