You two make a very lovely couple. Thank you for the tour. I live in Vancouver but I'm considering moving to the Okanagan for a couple years for a change of scenery. I work online so finding employment is thankfully not a concern.
It's a great place to live and play; we love living in the Okanagan. We have several videos from around the Okanagan in this play list: ua-cam.com/play/PLvzwtu28DXXZoSlBCX4HK-jicBgXN98-m.html&si=1tkcS32MrdqQGaXf I hope you can make the move.
I used to spend summers here as a kid. I can believe it's the warmest city! The lake itself is quite shallow so it stays warm. You can walk out quite a ways into the lake before it gets too deep. I haven't been to the Desert Center - Thanks for the tour!
Hey, thanks for watching. We had fun spending the day, wish we had more time and covid wasn't around. The desert walk was fun and very hot, we were glad to sit in the shade stops along the way.-Shawna🍁
What an informative and well presented picture of this beautiful area. Too hot for me to ever visit in the summer though. I have a childhood dream of visiting Canada so the country itself is definitely on my list. I love your natural and fun way of communicating. Love these videos. Always a treat. Stay safe and keep smiling. ❤️ 🎥 🙏 🙋♀️ 🎄
Hi Oma, You always have the nicest things to say❤. It was too hot for us too lol. It took us several weeks of planning and checking the weather to actually film. We wanted to go on a 'cooler' day not a 40+C day. We did have fun there, we had a good laugh at doing a desert walk in August. In January we start our Canadian Rockies series from Jasper, Banff and Yoho national parks. Stay safe and thanks for the support 🎄-Shawna🍁
Osoyoos looks beautiful, we can see why it's popular with tourists in the summer. That's awesome you can walk right up to the border, definitely best not to cross it though, don't want to get in trouble. The desert centre looks pretty awesome too, we would totally check it out if we were in the area.
Osoyoos is huge with tourists, even during covid this summer they were fully booked. We had fun finding safe places to explore. Thanks for watching-Shawna🍁
Very well & proffesionally done video, I even shared it on my face book page, I am a frequent visitor to this beautiful Osoyoos town each summer & Autumn, to enjoy their fruit season, from Apricots, Cherries, Peaches, Grapes, Apples & Pears. I live in Vancouver, & Osoyoos is the place to visit during the hot summer days. Thank you & keep up the great job on many Canadian attraction areas.
Thank you for your support, kind words and for sharing our video. Our favourite time of year to visit Osoyoos is peach season. The sun ripened fruit is so juicy and sweet. Starting in January we are doing Jasper, Banff and Yoho national parks. And of course more of the Okanagan and BC through out the year. We plan on doing a Vancouver and area video next year too. Any hidden gems? Stay safe-Shawna🍁
@@luzern187 Hi, I don't really know a specific place to rent out for a 6 months period, but at this time of the year, still spring, fruit tree are in full blossoms, not too many tourists in the area as in the summer time, there for, you want find it too difficult to find a place, I alwayes stay in a Motel, during the Summer time & the Autom, Hotels & Motels are almost fully occupied, you can seek a help of a local Real Estate Agent to find a suitable place for rent, he knows better in this business. Hi Fay & Dan. Yes Sunshine ☺, we live in 1 of the sunniest parts of Canada, Okanagan Valley. We are keeping well, all ready for Christmas 🎄. We appreciate your support, we love watching your channel. Dan is so good at editing and Fay is so funny and cute. -Shawna🍁
That is a true desert but not the only part of that desert. Ashcroft and Lillooet as well as Kamloops are the main desert with the Okanagan as the secondary. Temps in Ashcroft reach up to 50 c in the summer as well as Lytton and Lillooet. Those three places are the hottest in Canada.
We were lucky that while we were there some local came by and talked to us about spotted lake. You can book a tour at the desert centre to go down to the waters edge and even try the water. Too bad we didn't have time for that.-Shawna🍁

This was filmed in August, it was 37C that day. The desert walk almost killed us lol The lake was so clear, warm and beautiful. The waves are from wind blowing down the valley or it comes down the mountain 'mountain effect.' The mountain effect can make the water very turbulent, plus there were several speed boats zooming around. The breeze off the lake still helps with the hot dry air. Stay safe you 3 🥰 -Shawna🍁

@angelitorosales889 It is a great place to live, especially with mild winters. The farms in the Okanagan are always in search of help and often hire foreign workers. It's a great way to get into Canada. To buy a farm, though, costs over a million dollars. Most single families homes in the area are around $700 thousand with very few rentals. Rent is between $1500 and $3000 a month. To farm on more afford land Saskatchewan is a great option too but has very harsh winters. Most farms that hire workers also provide accommodation. Good luck and I hope you make it this way.
