Nice but Taiwan had its strongest growth and development when it basically had a dictator. Ditto S. Korea. There's actually no real examples of countries developing fast the last 50 years with democracy.
Eastern European countries are examples of this.

Same for companies. Works well for Tesla, Amazon, Facebook. But you need an excellent leader with supreme confidence and vision to be that dictator.
The biggest roadblock to change is people squabbling over bullshit.
Ramaphosa could be that person but he is people pleasing his party. He could set things straight if he just manned up and bulldozed ahead. That will be better than floundering in a no man's land without any change at all.
