Hey, how about the Lizzie Borden murders? Although Lizzie was accused of murdering her father John Borden and step-mother Abbey Borden with an axe in their home in Fall River, Mass., on Aug. 4, 1892, she was later acquitted on June 20, 1893 when a jury found her not guilty. This did not prevent a popular jingle - "Lizzie Borden took an axe, and gave her father 40 wacks. And when the job was nicely done, she gave her mother 41" - but the fact remains no other person was ever charged in the murders, and the true answer to the killer's identity remains unanswered to this day.

Patsy told her husband what happened and threatened to take him down with her if he didn't help with the coverup.

DNA experts have said that the DNA found on Jonbenet's clothes was in such a small amount, that it most likely came from the manufacturer of the clothes. It did not come from sweat, blood, seaman, or any other bodily fluid. The evidence points to her mother killing her by accident and covering it up.

Burke did it with the big mag-light flashlight because JonBenet snatched a piece of his pineapple. John and Patsy covered it up and staged the scene. All the red herrings, false confessions and inept Boulder PD enabled the waters to be muddied enough that he got away with it w/o consequences. (She wasn't strangled - that part was staged. Her cause of death was the skull fracture... which matches the flashlight shown in the crime scene photos perfectly.)

Re: Villisca IA Axe Murders - Your statement that Josiah Moore "would not be directly implicated"?! How could he ever even be considered as a possible suspect by ANY stretch of the imagination?! He was the first victim of the 8 attacked and killed in the house...
Seriously, the dude could not possibly have killed them all and then laid down in bed and hacked himself to death with said axe. His head was bashed to a pulp - struck many, many times. Obviously NOT a murder/suicide situation. My theory is that Jones hired it done out of jealousy/anger - due to Josiah having an affair with his DIL & Josiah being quite successful in his own right with his own business after having worked for Jones for years. Wealthy banker and Senator FF Jones was very upset at Josiah Moore for leaving his employ and starting a competing business and I think Josiah's affair with the DIL was the proverbial last straw. The other 7 people in the house, including Lena and Ina, were not targets - they were killed for simply being there, to eliminate any witnesses.

The Lady of the Dunes will probably be identified. If they have her DNA, which I believe they do, It's only a matter of time before genetic genealogy makes a connection in her family tree and her identity is discovered. It's happening with Jane and John Doe cases more and more often nowadays, and it's a wonderful thing. Identifying her won't necessarily mean the search for her killer will be quick, but hopefully she will get her name back soon 🤞🏻
I bet there are quite a few murderers who thought for years they'd get away with their crime, and are now looking over their shoulders all the time; just waiting, knowing it won't be long before they're apprehended 😏
