    You've become my favourite UA-camr to watch - your head is screwed on straight and you're not in it for fame. Even though you're wealthy, you like to focus on hard work and goals instead of just leeching off followers. So rare these days!

    Hi Sophie! I am a new subscriber and I have been really down and depressed thinking that I'm never going to survive high school as a closeted gay teen and go to cosmetology school and become a hairdresser. Life can really bring me down at times. But this video has really boosted my spirit and reassured me that I can do anything and I will! I will be making a visual board of my goals(it's a great idea!) I've told myself that anything is possible if you work for it. Thank you so much for this video Sophie!! Much love from Kentucky , USA💙💙

    How I managed my anxiety: did yoga almost every day of the week, meditated, cut caffeine out of my diet (I was 14 in Year 9). After a while - because it's not instantaneous - I felt much better (which was around the end of the year). When I was 15 and in Year 10, I achieved the best results I ever had at that school and it was the best year out of the 10 I was there for. Guys, it is a rollercoaster. It does get better, but it flares up in times of extreme stress. So, learning how to manage your emotions is crucial, because when it does hit you unexpectedly, you want to be able to recognise it and handle it well.

    I wrote down some goals on a beautiful piece of stationary and stuck it to my bedside lamp, so I see them each morning I wake up. I have now achieved all of them. Also - you are so on the money with not comparing yourself to others. I became much happier when I stopped doing that. Great video! Thanks for sharing your positive messages!

    Hi Sophie, i started following you when i saw your Balmain video, and then found you nice choices for bags. I'm really glad how you are such a real person who's honest enough to tell people how you came out of debt, how you work hard for what you have and how you seem to be very reasonable with your luxury purchases when you mentioned in ine video that you're getting a bag after reaching a financial target. It makes you more relatable and your nice spulrges achievable. I'm getting a Chanel card holder sometime in December. I could simply swipe my card now and get it, but I was really inspired by your discipline.

    Tips 4 & 5 are so important! I was offered a job yesterday which entails me working on my own on a few projects, something I haven't done before and I am seriously terrified. I know that if I say yes then in six months time I'd probably be grateful I did but at the moment I almost wish I wasn't offered this opportunity....

    You're such an inspiration to me especially now when I am in the midst of looking for a new job, quitted my previous job even though my pay was actually quite ok because I totally hated it since I wasn't going anywhere and my boss wanted me gone by giving me either the most mundane assignments were it was obvious I would have learnt nothing or really lousy assignments which have or ability of failing to meet the deadline while allocating the most incompetent staffs to assist me on it.there were others he prefers to be promoted to the next level, now I am glad that I actually had the guts to do it because if I don't I would be totally complacent at my previous work place.... Would totally try to get a cork board like u and put out all the things I want in life and how to get them... Thanks for the 5 tips even though they sound cliche but honestly all of us need a reminder especially from someone like u 😊

  • @teacherrl9840
    @teacherrl9840 8 років тому +38

    Number 5 is so key. Laziness and procrastination will waste years and years that you could have used to be at a better place. Think- if you start NOW, you'll be somewhere else next year. In two years. In five years. If you don't start NOW, in five years you will probably be in the same place or worse. If you don't think it's possible, imagine where you could have been NOW if you had done things differently 5 years ago. It's that simple really... but you have to be really active and actually work for it.
    Something I taught my SO when he was still in college- you are not limited to what you studied in school or where you grew up or where your industry is located. You can up and leave and the whole world is possible. It is NOT impossible and it may not even be that hard. There are so many opportunities around the world that the vast majority of people are simply not aware of. There are jobs that hardly anybody knows exists and these are the stepping stones that could take you places. The biggest hurdle is simply not knowing. Start off by thinking where you want to be in the world and doing what? Then do the research to see what steps could make that possible.
    That's what we did and now we are developing a seaside resort and are continually building our goals and plans and nobody thought it was possible a few years ago... when in reality it was actually a lot easier and we didn't have to wait until we were 50 before we could enjoy life or own a business. At some point in time this meant working in an office for about a year and my SO working as a server for a while. But this wasn't a dead end job it was a short term plan that fit in the long term plan. It works! Set goals and begin working on it now!

    Love this video
    It's true never give up,learn from your mistakes and go with your instincts
    It'll take a long time but you'll overcome every hurdle with determination
    Trust me I've been there done that from addiction to gambling,marriage on the verge of breaking,depression . Now mortgage paid off, having an investment property purchasing a new car and never dreamt of walking into a Chanel store before and now being able to afford luxuries
    Remember determination pays off!

    Hi Sophie,
    Just wanna say I really love your videos! Especially the handbags ones cause I'm obsessed with them as well. I'm quite young (22 and about to start my first adult job) Seeing how far you've come in life while maintaining that humble and down to earth personality is really inspiring! Hopefully one day I can enjoy that phase in my life where I can afford luxury things with my own sweat and tears lol.
    I've noticed several of your videos when you mentioned that you bought luxury handbags for investment (as well as personal enjoyment, of course) and I was wondering if you could make a video about that?? I've always seen and been taught that cars and handbags are depreciating assets so I wanna hear your thoughts on it!

      I just quitted my job as I couldn't stand it any longer, am currently looking for a new one...I was in the same shoes as you, I worked my ass off daily but my boss hated me coz I am straightforward and tell everyone outright war is right wat is wrong, but my boss prefers someone who seems docile and kisses his add daily while acting as though they're trying their best but the clients were not cooperating so it wasn't their fault they can't deliver their assignments on time..
      There is no such things as 100% fairness in this world, but I believe somewhere out there, there r others who appreciate our effort..
      Congratulations on your new found job though, all the best 🍀

    • @vilieto
      @vilieto 8 років тому

      Sounds familiar.
      I too worked my ass off, doing every odd job, weekend call, last minute replacement and whatnot.
      My boss knew I was due a well-deserved raise, so she gave me one, but a week later gave me notices that all of the company contracts i was servicing were put up for negotiation (polite way of saying cancelled because my work was getting too expensive). They promised there will be more work coming, but after the notice period ended, i was left with a 0-hour contract and suggested to apply for unemployment and take a month of paid vacation.
      I'm currently replacing for another person on vacation and will leave after that. There's no person who deserves to be treated as "convenience" that's not worth paying for.

    Hi Sophie love your videos! So I actually want to ask for a piece of advice I'm 19 years old about to go into my second year at college. This summer I'm working off commission at Nordstrom. Since being at Nordstrom some concerns have arisen about the major I'm studying fashion merchandising. There are many middle aged people at my work who have the same degree and are doing the same thing only making a slightly higher wage at 40 or 50. My other colleague graduated 3 years ago and now is 23 wanting to be an assistant buyer or a buyer and has been applying this entire time but is not moving ahead. It first of all makes me question the value of obtaining this degree, but secondly makes me question my life's goals. At Nordstrom I have met former buyers and it requires a lot of hours and traveling; your life is your job. Growing up my parents both worked full time and I wish I saw them more I don't want that for my kids someday. My other interests are becoming an esthetician and going to

      Cosmetology school or working in interior design. Not having a degree scares me because there is less job security and I'm also concerned about how my friends and family will perceive me because they go to or went to prestigious schools. In addition those fields tend to make less money but I have similar taste to you (very expensive). I am concerned if I drop out I will not be able to afford or acquire the things I want materialistically later in life. Thanks so much! I'm just really stuck on what to do!

      I really hate school but I always tell meek it will pay off in the end my two biggest fears are 1) I end up obtaining the degree spending close to $200,000- $250,000 on it and hate my job after all the money stress and anxiety. 2) I don't obtain the degree, but not doing so sets me back in life, I now have a difficult time financially supporting my lifestyle. Plus there's no guarantee I will love this work more, I just hate college it fills me with anxiety.

    I'd say ruthlessness also helped me to get where I am, it can come off as selfish, but you really do have to put yourself first in professional situations to get where you need to be!

    There are two kinds of fear in the world.
    Fear of stepping outside of the box.....
    &
    Fear of staying inside the box.

    I think it would be best if you didn't become a fulltime youtuber. I find it refreshing that you're a real working person who can share your opinion. I just can't relate to full time youtubers who have never had a proper job in their lives and are rolling in money and will never have the struggles i've faced. Keep doing what you're doing Sophie! X
