You won't see Americans interested in what really matters . Right now they're more concerned about Britney Spears . Now if Britney Spears did a TikTok or UA-cam video about the coup then they might listen

It's because most users of You Tube are not interested in history, they only want to erase it. Usually most people under 30 these days.

Wow, all these years later she continues to carry the torch for her husband. She worked so hard to seek justice and truth for Charles. Make sure and see the movie “Missing,” an incredibly powerful and moving story.

The simple truth is that Charles Horman died because he knew too much. He was the Edward Snowden or the Julian Assange of his time.

    • @albertopalma1663

Horman was working in finding the truth about what happened to General Schneider who was murdered by the CIA 3 years before the Chile Coup www.fff.org/2014/06/03/the-cias-murder-of-rene-schneider/
Then in Viña del Mar he found out that the US was involved in the coup that overthrew Pres. Allende. He started to connect the dots and saw what was going on. For sure he was going to make it public and Nixon and Kissinger did not approve Horman's actions. We know the rest of the story.

God bless you, Joyce. That movie by Costa Gavras changed my life. I've never forgotten what the US really is, and always thought that movie was a warning of things to come in the US.

Oh , I got very angry watching MISSING with Sissy Spacek and Jack Lemmon . Our government was involved with the coup . What was sad was when MISSING was mentioned at the Oscars the audience was afraid to applaud the movie when it was mentioned . And again it made me angry . If Hollywood really is and has been liberal it would and should have gotten a huge applause . The Oscars event happened during Grand Wizard Ronald Reagan fascist regime .

@@akfreed6949 Well said. That movie woke me up but good. I saw it in the theater when it first came out, and it opened with a disclaimer from the State Department. You couldn't pay for a better recommendation. lol

Try looking up jakarta method. Indonesia's 1965 era.
It is literal pre-pinochet pinochet installment there. US did re-do on that

The myth-making about Allende is tiresome. Allende was a Marxist-Leninist who wanted to turn Chile into Cuba. He never had majority support. He only became President through a deal with the Christian Democrats, which he never intended to honor. His objective was to destroy the Democratic institutions of Chile and transition to a Marxist "dictatorship of the proletariat." Eventually, the Chilean institutions called upon the military to save the country from this Marxist revolution. By all means, discuss the abuses/atrocities of Pinochet, but don't suppress those committed by the Communists in Chile and all over the Southern Cone during those years-all funded by the Soviet Union, both directly and through Cuba.

The Allende regime was complicated. It was not a regular election - he won the plurality not the majority and there were many forces interfering with / guiding his presidency.
