- In this new video, I'm remaking another poster. This time I chose to redo the poster for #starwars the Phantom Menace, since this poster isn't all that modern. In this video I use #photoshop to give it my own twist. #theriseofskywalker is near!

I agree! I’ve seen the one with the prequels and OT, but I haven’t seen one that includes the sequels yet, and maybe include the anthology films aswell

Would be cool if Anakin got lit up with the blue light saber from one side and the red one from the other, to showcase his struggle between the light and the dark side that he's about to endure in his lifetime. But Jar-Jar being clearly in the red light is... very good! A tribute to the plot that we didn't get to see because of the backlash.

I like how the light from Maul’s lightsaber somewhat absorbs Jar Jar, giving it a Darth Jar Jar sorta vibe.
Nice work :) Yes, the original it's more clean, but this is beacause it's handmade by a man called Drew Struzan, an awesome artist behind posters like Blade Runner, Indiana Jones, Goonies, Back to the future.. etc. we get the point (check his website) :)

The prequel posters are so classic and all and all great that nothing can beat them.
Now thats what I'm talking about! Really amazing artwork! I especially enjoyed seeing the lighting process for Qui-Gon and Kenobi.
The only little nitpicks I have, are the placement of the droid control ship and that I kinda liked the more colorful version with the white logo on it a bit better than the final version, even though that one is closer to the look of current posters.
Anyway. Love your work. Keep it up!

This is amazing! You are incredibly talented. Phantom Menace is my favorite prequel movie, though Revenge of the Sith is a close second.
The original was hand-drawn by Drew Struzan, he draws with pencil, and uses airbrush amongst other things. He HAND ILLUSTRATES his work.
Bloody fantastic! Great hierarchy and composition. The only thing I can see that's missing is the power coupling / lightning stream on Sebulba's podracer. Stellar work :)
Your end result is awesome... with one minor flaw. You enhanced Darth Maul's eye -- and they look sick! -- but you didn't do anything to the other characters' eyes. Quai-gon looks especially dead without any brightening of his eyes. I think you would really bring your posture to a higher level if you go back and enhance the eyes of Obi-Wan and Queen Amidala.

Even though I preferred to have less pink/purple glow, cause it feels a bit too much with four glowing colors calling out for attention.
That and it looked better with the background visible.

I think the one thing I think the original poster has that yours doesn't is having the spectacular reflection in the eyes of the characters, I think that would go a long way in your version. Regardless I think you did an amazing job man!

I really like this poster you did here! A couple things I would have done different was to replace the Force Awakens credits at the bottom with TPM credits in the same font. The other thing is Qui Gon's position. I would move him up just a little bit from where he is. None the less, you still did an amazing job and I can’t wait to see you take on the other two Prequel posters.
After those, you should definitely do ones for the Original Trilogy. Another one I think you could tackle is the 1984 film, Dune.

While the prequels aren’t perfect their presentation and world building from the marketing and the actual movies themselves are kinda cool, anyway awesome work dude

Uhzu posters are meant to market the movie. If you wanted to make a movie mysterious, then you’d just drop it in cinemas with absolutely zero prior warning. The posters were only designed like this because Maul is hunting them down, so he’s in the position a hunter is in, not because he needs to be mysterious
Also, Maul was literally in the trailer twice or more and the only thing not revealed there was the second blade

The original is better but I love this as well. It just looks like all the recent posters with the Lightsaber or staff separating the good from the bad guys.

You should make a poster that captures each trilogy. One for each trilogy, the same length and width but images from all 3, something that could be on a box set or something.

I like the original poster better. All the Star Wars posters are the same these days. A red lightsaber splitting the poster in half and then another character has a blue saber, and not to mention the Sith Lord or “bad guy” always has the biggest head. Oh shoot make sure you make the outline of every force sensitive character glowing to show that they are powerful like we didn’t already see them holding a saber.

Nice ~ I just realized you can use a Color Fill for the aura feel rather than a Hue/Saturation or Outer glow, very useful and easier.

Congrats with the subscribers. I am one of them. I think most of us are more interested in learning something, than just to see what you can do, myself included. I think what you do is cool, and I would like to learn from it. I am pretty sure, that if you made something like this and i.e. the western scene as a tutorial on a regular basis, you would have potential to reach a million or more subscribers within a year or two. And as far as I know, youtubers with that amount of subscribers are doing extreemely well, so that should interest you. In my opinion anyway :-)

In some ways (the vehicles, the side characters, etc.) yours is better.
But I prefer the original because of the title & maul’s menacing eyes only being shown, leaving him as more of a mystery.
Both are great, I just prefer the original by a bit more!

Not quite there yet on the lighting and contrast on the faces, but better than the last one. You'll get there. Maul's face has the right balance, but Qui Gon's should have the opposite juxtaposition with intense over exposed whites on the left. Blending modes and smart objects are your friends. I don't know what machine specs you're working with, but don't be afraid to go big on the layer count. My last poster had 2000 layers at the end.
