That looks like one wicked hard Mario game! All the obstacles and wide cliffs where the jumps have to be perfect, otherwise Mario falls into the abyss and loses a life.
When Mario heads into the castle, he gets placed behind the background layer, making it look as if he walked inside of the castle. If you remove the castle, you can see Mario walking towards a block that conveniently looks like part of the castle walls. If you were to jump over the flagpole, you can see (and feel) this solid brick block for yourself.
I'm just going to answer in English, since I unfortunately have no knowledge of Japanese language : I played this game on "FCEUX" (a Famicom/NES emulator).
