- As The World Turns: in September 1983, they ran a multi week arc that was filmed on the Home Lines vessel MV Atlantic. Since I worked at Home Lines, I saved the segments relevant to that arc. Quality is poor (this is recorded over the air in 1983, then transferred tape to tape). There are two short muted segments to avoid copyright. Engine noise can be heard throughout. On ship scenes are real. I included non-shipboard scene where useful for story continuity.
A young Meg Ryan is featured.
Wow, the Atlantic was my first cruise ship. I was an entertainer and as a matter of fact, I can be seen here at 58:43 in the upper left corner sitting on the edge of the pool with some of the other "extras". i thought this was going to start my career in television, so I moved to NYC and auditioned everywhere, but ended up returning to ships in 1988 and spent more than 20 years onboard working on other cruise lines. I was sent another clip of me in a TV interview about working on ships, went down the rabbit hole and found this. You made my day. I was 21 years old with long, blonde hair. Now 60 and no hair. This made me feel young again, LOL,

Thank you for sharing this material with fans. As the World Turns vintage material is painfully hard to come by as the people who owned it don't care about it and did not for many years before the show left the air. This is very rare - I know I've never seen any of this before. I know this must have taken a lot of time and effort, so thank you again.
Had to blank about 2 minutes of audio for copyright. And the quality is bad. But glad you enjoyed it. It's strange that some programs are preservered and streamable and others are lost.
kengeorgejones…. Actually, there’s quite of few early ‘80s episodes on UA-cam. Sadly, compared to episodes from 1970-1976 are slim to none, due to erasing and they weren’t preserved. I started watching World Turns in 1977 and I would love to see episodes from that era. The show was a big deal then. I keep hoping that maybe somebody has copies stored away somewhere. I discovered two rare episodes from 1972 a while back, not the best quality, but it was a treat nonetheless. Maybe one day. 😊😊
@@der22672 There are some from the early '80s, definitely, although many are still missing. I do wish more from the '50s through the '70s could appear. You should share some of your memories of those years for fans sometime (not sure if you're on Soap Opera Network board).

She was dazzling gal out in 1983 (She was 22').A Few their fans know about this, cuz a lotta fans went stucked only their 90s moviehit romcom YOU'VE GOT MAIL, that movie sucks! But in these one, Pure vibes about Meg 80s❤ She nailed in AS THE WORLD TURNS 83' season

That hurts me not only She does their mistaken surgeries, also yes, everything all happended to Meg throughout these years about overkilled stereotyping on movies, excessively criticism about their freedom of expression being sexy as an ordinary actress to works in big screen & also been revoked by their audiences. Their failed promised carrer, as She had into the 80s...People,Hollywood & Their owned fans spoiled & ruined one of greatest actresses as America ever had. This was a one off. I was working for the cruise line and actually saw them filming at the pier. So, I recordeed every episode on VHS tapes and cut out the stuff that didn't related the the Atlantic cruise ship.

Never thought about it back then but Meg resembled a young Angela Lansbury and ladies still looked so nice in their maternity clothes good memories of the show ❤
