For those that are interested my camera settings were - f/4.5, 1/200, ISO 100. I don't have the individual strobe power settings but the visual breakdown should give you all you need!
Yes, LOVE seeing the light by light add-in...it's super helpful! 🎉
Thanks Tanya!
Awesome breakdown James!
Thanks Eli!
James!! You the man!! I never miss a video
Wow, thank you Valentin!
There is no end to the excellent videos you create! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. And kudos to Westcott for inviting you to work with them. They keep broadening their footprint by identifying leaders such as you to bring everyone new and exciting offerings like the Pro Light Mods. Looking forward to more of your videos. 🙂
Thank you Cinders! It's comments like these that keep me going!
I've been waiting for a video like this! The exposure build-up really helps me as a beginner understanding the different effects of the lights and their positioning. Very helpful, thank you!
Thanks Nils!
“Anyone who watches my videos knows I’m not an on camera talent” 😂.
Appreciate you pushing into your discomfort! I fed the same way, especially when someone else is recording me!
🎥😱🤣
Another great useful video. Thanks for doing these!!
Thanks Scott!
Always helpful content, learned so much from your videos over the years. Thanks JQP!
Thanks Leo!
Thank you for the explanation.
I learned so much from you already. Your channel is a great source of wisedom🙏🏻👍🏻
Thanks so much!

"is in session...?" 🤣
I have been struggling with my key light like this. I have the ambient killed using a similar black cloth backdrop. I try to back the subject off the backdrop about 8’ and keep the key light as close as I can, probably an extended bat length away (4’) to maximize the falloff, but the key light being pointed towards the backdrop lights it up a lot more than I want, seems more than in this example. I end up gridding it and putting it off at a 45left or right or gridding it on a boom and pointing down so it hits the ground before the backdrop.
Great video as always! You mentioned the 200’s being good for the side/rim lights, especially if you are indoors. If you were doing mostly outdoor shoots, would you still recommend the 200’s or would you rather have the 400’s?
That's a tough but I'd probably defer to the 400's for mainly outdoor work - rather have too much power than not enough!
Thanks, I was kinda thinking the same thing, better to have more power than not enough, but always good to double check!
And camera body you shooting with??
When can we expect another skirt wrap around with draw string for the box design like the circular pro mod for the 3x3 and 3x4 box.
Canon R5. No plans for skirts on the square/rectangular models since most boxes can't hold their shape unless they're circular. Circles are much stronger due to the even weight distribution.
what power is your key light? 400?
Hey what time of blackout material do you use in the background for these and full body photos
It's a Westcott wrinkle free black backdrop.
It's a bit off topic, but have you had any of your Westcott or Godox units fail? I used to use Buff Einstein 640s that belonged to the company I worked for and at the time they were very solid units. Now as a hobbyist I'm looking into getting into a lighting system for myself but it seems like the popular options have changed since then. I'm considering the FJ400 or AD400 pro but I've seen reviews talking about general lack or repairability outside of the warranty period. Have you had to replace parts or get any of your Westcott or Godox units serviced? I'm also considering the new Celestial from Buff since Buff is known for good repairability/customer support but whenever I check the availability they keep getting delayed by another month😂
No I've not had any issues thus far. If it's warranty and service you're concerned with and you're here in the US then Westcott is a no brainer.
@@QuantzPhoto Thanks for the reply and insight. I'm glad I found your channel. Your videos means a lot since its coming from somebody working in the field that knows what they're doing😄
What lens are we shooting with?
Canon RF 24-70 f/2.8
@@QuantzPhoto thank you, you are an inspiration to the profession.
Also is there a dedicated 3x3 soft box for the 3x3 Pro Mod?
