    One of the best helmets in the world. I have the C3 Pro and the C4 Pro….no other brand comes close. Worth every penny.

    I had the C3 and five years later upgraded to the C3 Pro both with the Comms collar. I do about 24,000 km every year mainly commuting. They are both excellent helmets. Very comfortable and quite quiet.
    There are some niggles which, in my view, shouldn't be there on a helmet of this price. For example, the lining over the head vents moves about blocking one vent or the other and, conversely unblocking the vents in winter allowing a small amount of cold air in. The helmets need a breath-guard to help stop the visor fogging up in the rain and/or cold. And the C3 Comms collar doesn't fit the C3 Pro.
    Would I buy another? Yes. But, unfortunately, the mess they made of the C4 four-ish years ago has made dealers stop stocking them in my part of the world so getting hold of one to try on is difficult...

    I'm surprised how many people love this helmets and yet in my experience I feel totally disappointed, I have HJC IS17, C3, C3pro, and AGV K5 bought in that order and both Schubert have bit's of plastic falling of : bottom spoilers, black plastic around metal pins where flip locks up, pin lock pin cracked visor around it, C3pro which is my most expensive and I use it less than others have very worn interior where C3 twice as old looks new etc..
    All of the other helmets are still in perfect order as a day I bought them and much cheaper but appear to be superior quality to Schubert...
    .. By the way, amazing chanal guys !
    Very informative and interesting. 👌

    I love my c3 pro. What i don't love about it is that "anti scratch" visor that actually gets scratched from air itself and the rubish pinlock that i have to change every year because no matter how i adjust the visor pins the pinlock doesn't stay "glued" to the visor after you close the visor. It just. The visor and pinlock are rubish, i had far more cheeper helmets with much better visors and pinlocks. Great video!

    New c3pro comes with pinlock 120 fitted to the visor. I had an agv compact st helmet size L 59/60. The C3pro size Xl 60/61 was the best fit for me.

    i prefer using peak for rain. Have not done a lot of testing ,but i think i get less drops on my visor when i use helmet with peak. I use Schuberth c3 for cold days, and for everything else i use Scorpion adx1 which has peak, but its too cold for it at the moment so further testing will be done next year :D

    Hi guys and gals, great video as always, love your reviews.
    I want to buy the new C3 Pro Sestante in yellow. I was also looking for a new comms system, can you tell me if the integrated system is as good as a Cardo packtalk? it's hard to find any info or reviews on the Scuberth integrated system. Thank you so much, kind regards, Michael.

    Are you sure the cheek pads are not replaceable? I'm pretty sure they are, Schuberth sells all sizes.

      I exchanged mine 6 months ago, on the E1 which is the same helmet! So yes they are exchangeable!

    • @Motolegends
      @Motolegends  3 роки тому +2

      Dear Johnny, the cheek pads are replaceable but not interchangeable. You can replace a sweaty set with a clean set, but the pads are specified for a given size of helmet. Occasionally, we have managed to squeeze a slightly thicker pad from a larger helmet into a smaller helmet, but the locating poppers do not properly line up. Schuberth does not pretend that the exchange pads are intended to change the fit, but when I was last at the factory they told me that they understood that this facility needed to be part of the spec. for the C5. No idea, by the way, when the C5 will come to market; certainly not this year; probably not even next.

      @@Motolegends Got you, thanks for the quick reply! My hope was to slightly adjust the fit of a C3 Pro by installing slightly thinner cheek pads (15mm) versus the 20mm originals, from the next size up. Definitely remember others doing the same, but I'll take the helmet to the local shop to test it out. Cheers!

    I bought a HJC ROHAN for 420 usd , miami, fl. It is light (not all carbon but partial, arimids, etc). I used to own Shoei, head doesnt fit Schuberth. Please test this one please.

      C3 pro probably. But with any question like this the truth is whichever fits you best! Although in this case c3 pro every time.

    When it was time for me to upgrade I searched high and low until I was able to find a brand new C3 from a shop in the UK that delivered it to me in the US. What will I do when the C3 is no longer useable? I dunno 🤷‍♀️ the world has moved on.

    Can I get a 120 pin lock for my old C3Pro?

  • @sumporfuk
    @sumporfuk 3 роки тому

    I can appreciate your point of view about the so called upgrades of the C3 Pro, BUT I respectfully disagree. I was one of the original owners of the C3 and as far as I am concerned it is and should be the helmet that all of the other Schuberh’s in that line are judged. I crashed my C3 pretty good in Laos 🇱🇦 while off-roading and it was around that the C3 Pro had come out. At the time Schuberth had some sort of turn in the crashed helmet for a prorated new one going on and that’s how I ended up with the C3 Pro. I didn’t think much of the change at the time, but as time went on I started to notice that things weren’t the same. When I was finally ready to upgrade to the E1 something made me pull out the old crashed up C3 (which I had kept for sentimental reasons) and that’s when I had a chance to really compare the differences between the two. To save money Schuberth related a bobble head effect on the C3 Pro by downgrading the shell sizes to two instead of the three in the C3 helmet. By doing this it also added more weight to the helmet. I totally disagree about the noise factor, because I found the C3 to be far more quieter than the C3 Pro. I have long complained that Schuberth along with a lot of manufacturers hit you with their best shots at first and then quietly strip away all of the goodness in their products going forward to the unsuspecting public. This is done for no other reason than their bottom line. How do I know the game? Because I’ve been involved in manufacturing for a whole lot of years.

      Thanks for your note about our C3 Pro review. You may know that I have been critical of the Schuberth company in recent years. Schuberth was sold to an investment company, and since then I do believe that financial considerations have led to poor decisions. Of course, every business has to make money, but sometimes when the accountants call the shots the bigger picture can get lost. The C3 Pro, however, preceded the sale of the company, and I have to say that we cannot agree that the C3 was a better helmet. You are certainly wrong in stating that the C3 had three shell sizes; it only ever had two. You are also incorrect when it comes to the weight. There is no difference between the two helmets in size Small; they both come in at 1570g. And given the plusher liner and improved neck roll in the C3 Pro, it’s unlikely that it would have been noisier than the C3. Certainly, Schuberth claimed from their wind-tunnel testing that the C3 Pro was quieter than its predecessor. In terms of the difference that you perceived, don’t ignore fit. They did change the internal head shape for the C3 Pro. That will have suited some, but not all. In our experience, the other aerodynamic and ventilation upgrades on the C3 Pro made it a significantly better, more wearable helmet, particularly at speed. Now, the C3 Pro to the C4; that’s a totally different story!

      @@Motolegends I will not dispute most of your statements concerning weight, shell sizes, etc. I don’t remember weighing either of them, there is no mistaking that side by side the C3 noticeably smaller than the C3 Pro (at least mine are). As for fit I’ll just have to follow your point because the C3 fits my head much better. Personally, I could care less about the db spec between the two, on my noggin I find the C3 to be the quieter of the two so, to each their own.
      None the less the product description in your videos are excellent and I do enjoy 😊 watching and learning. Keep up the good work, cheers 🍻

      Thanks for your observations. Are you not talking about the bunny ears that I mentioned in the review? Should be straightforward to either block or unblock the vents. The old comms collar on the c3 would not work in the C3 Pro because the C3 Pro had a much improved aerial, so yes you needed the new collar. In terms of a breath guard, I am not sure it would make a great deal of difference in this helmet. It is so well sealed around the neck and has such a good chin curtain that a breath guard would not actually have directed much air out of the helmet. Again, I allude to this in the review; it’s why you need to use the vents properly and to have access to a good Pinlock.

    No it did not work for me. The visor needs two hands to completely lock, the pinlock visor frame is in my sight on my sportier Ducati, there is a very loud noise on right side and the lock ratchet is to loose even it was the right size.

    C4 is NOT "more for prone position". This is NOT "sporty" helmet. This helmet is mainly evolution AND for slightly differen head shape (more circular). This can be sport, all day city ride, touring... you name it.
