    I just bought a Schuberth C4 Basic, size XL (61) in Europe. Mine didn't come with integrated speakers and the part where it should be, there is just plastics covered without a hole to be able to remove it (in the neck area). I bought it used from a guy who bought it but needed a different color as he needs a fluorescent yellow as being an instructor. Did I just buy an old model or is this normal in europe?

    I bought an EU version as I got tired waiting for DOT. My thoughts on fit. This helmet is not as plush as the C3 Pro. Compared to a Shoei it feels like a $200 cheap helmet. I do like the Sena integration. I also recommend the remote handle bar controller as the buttons are impossible to find with gloves on. I ended up with a very expensive set up that really isn’t worth it. With included pin lock using the sun shield with face shield down gives you three pieces of plastic to look through. Distortion is present. Now being deep into this overrated helmet I swap out the clear face shield for a dark tint. I carry my clear in the sock the tint came in. I removed the pin lock from the smoke shield and it’s much better without all the reflections and distortion. The sound from the speakers from iPhone playback is not bad. Playback from my K1600’s sat radio SUCKs. It works but sound quality is terrible. But it does work. I stick to sat nav and iPhone and use handlebar remote.

    I was planning on getting the C4. I have a Shoei Neotec that's pushing 5 years old. The Neotec is heavier than the current C3 pro so thinking that the C4 would be lighter was the reason I wanted one. Now heavier than the Neotec? No thanks. Now the Neotec 2 is on the way! Lighter than the first Neotec. Can't wait for that one. Revzilla, when is the Neotec 2 expected to be available in the US?

    C4 has 86db the C3 Pro is rated 82db. Looks like the helmet has gone backwards in this key area. It’s getting very poor reviews on the Revzilla site from owners. The reviews are not as good as the C3 Pro.

    Is this beauty ECE 22.05 Certified? If so, ECE certification testing is held to more stringent standards than the SNELL rated helmet. As such I think I’d prefer the Shuberth C4 over a SNELL approved.

      Cerebral Method The testing is just different, not better or tougher necessarily. For instance, multiple impacts v. single, certain spots more protected v. overall strength, etc. The British system is worth checking too.

    • @dimosk7389
      @dimosk7389 7 років тому +1

      the british system (i suppose you refer to sharp) is HIGHLY controversial. there are even univercity papers that go into depth with that system and show that it is not representing a realistic view of the actual accidents that happen on the road.
      in other words, it is focusing on areas that are deemed "not critical" by other methods.
      thats why we see well known and expensive helmets like Arai or Shoei, performing worse than 50 euro/dollars/pounds chinese helmets. because big brands focus on the essential areas that need protection

    • @oklahomahank2378
      @oklahomahank2378 7 років тому +3

      dimos k I agree. There is no magic single standard. Evaluate each system and see how it works for the helmet you like or your riding style. Or just buy one of the major brands that is represented in racing and you will be fine. I did not say the Sharp ratings were best or superior or even accurate, just worth investigating. More information is always good.

    • @dimosk7389
      @dimosk7389 7 років тому

      agree, not bashing you in any way. just mentioning the controvertial nature of this system. but ofc, the more info we have as consumers, the better for us.
      as you said, when you go with a major brand, you know you are buying a safe helmet

    • @ChrisJohn_444
      @ChrisJohn_444 7 років тому +1

      Oklahoma Hank From what I understand, ECE is has more criteria and requires the testing of every helmet, not just random ones within a modem line, by 3rd party testers, as with DOT. DOT gets an edge on high impact and multiple impact. Snell, of course, is the highest, most rigorous standard. And, SHARP is controversial because it can rate Snell approved helmets lower than you'd expect. A combination of approvals is probably the best way to go, but if you have just one, it should probably be Snell.

      The US model is slightly different than the European model, and those differences aren't quantified for the US market. All we know is that like the US-model C3 Pro, the US-model C4 meets the DOT and ECE safety standards. -DrewZilla
