    I go to a lot of science conferences, but now I'm wondering if there are conferences for Music Technology/Learning and Program Software/Learning and not just the hardware and if there were I would say you really aught to go and give lectures and hand out cards for your channel. You're work is phenomenal! I'm such a fan!

    Great video Seamless! Interesting points, especially about the Sawtooth ramp and bandlimiting. Another aspect of the speed of the oscillation of your speaker cone is that it also depends on the size of the driver. So your small Tweeter can definitely help reproduce very high frequencies and sharp transients, compared to the main woofer driver. Similarly, you won't hear any 40hz sub-bass unless you have a driver (sub woofer) that can push that much air.

    Filled in what feels like literally every knowledge gap that I had in understanding bit rate (collectively) and a few other tidbits. Muchos thanks to SeamlessR. It's only a matter of time before I have my list of questions for my first lesson with this guy. Keep knowing shit! You do it well :D

    What is increasing the speed exactly? There are different things you can do to make it go faster. You can do so and keep the pitch constant. It all depends on how you do it. Doesn't it?

      The oscillator, he is talking about the speed of the oscillation not the speed of playback/time stretching.

    Literally the only reason I produce at 88.2 on my desktop setup (besides it being easily powerful enough to handle it) is bc of the way filters and EQ's behave at 44.1. Ever opened a low pass filter plugin all the way up on a 44.1 sample rate project and noticed the sound is still slightly being filtered? The high frequencies still are slightly muted....and it's easily noticeable. That's bc of the 44.1 sample rate. The filter cannot open enough to give you a completely unfiltered sound at 44.1 sample rate. Some plugins offer "oversampling" as a option to fix this....and it works....but not all plugins offer "oversampling" so I'd rather just alleviate the headache all together. Sugarbytes WOW2 Filter, at the time of writing this, is a popular filter plugin that does not offer oversampling. In fact it's what made me notice the issue years ago.
    I have no reason to ever want to go above 88.2....but this is why I prefer 88.2 to 44.1 sample rate.

      The muffled high frequencies are because when you cross 22.5 kHz, it doesn't go any higher (when using the 44.1 samplerate) It doesn't really matter because such high frequencies aren't really audible.

      Atom I can hear it. Thats the point. When 88.2 it fixes the issue.

    This guy needs to brush up on his audio basics before trying to teach others. Knows enough to be dangerous, but not accurate at all on too many points here. Don't bs your way through it, just say you don't know...

    • @GweeGwee
      @GweeGwee 9 років тому +4

      donnybristol what was he wrong about? I don't want wrong information either. usually in his videos and streams he admits to not knowing something and challenges viewers to correct him on anything he might be wrong about as long as they can just tell him what he's wrong about. you can only teach something as best you know until someone else comes and tells you what's wrong and need to be fixed so help us all out
