I like how Subaru's default is driving on the left side of the road because Japan is a left-hand traffic country. Then quickly corrects herself when she sees oncoming traffic.🤣
One of the only things about Japan that would be familiar to me, as a Britbong.

English is an easy language to be fair
@@nik-challengeman383That's a matter of opinion. To many it's not easy at all. It also depends on what your original language is. If your base language is Germanic or Romantic then yeah, it might be easier. But that's definitely not true for everyone.
@@nik-challengeman383 I have never heard anyone claim English is anything but difficult until this moment. I went to college for English and I don't think it's easy at all. If I speak correctly then the average English native won't even understand me cause the average native speaker does not speak the language remotely correctly lol. And even when you do all understand the correct words, the words then have 6+ definitions.

It’s generally agreed that English is a hard language. What makes it easy is early and consistent exposure. Hollywood has conquered the world so lots of people are exposed to english since they were born even if they don’t know any english speakers in their real life, they’ve been watching the equivalent to Dora the Explorer for years.

I love how outgoing and extroverted Cece is in general. Many members always shy away from interacting with the Japanese members because of the language barrier and I get and understand that but it's really nice to finally have someone who just doesn't care and just puts herself out there even if she can't really speak Japanese. It's also really entertaining.
Tbh if Cecilia continues interacting like this while taking lessons on the side I wouldn't be surprised if she gets to basic conversation level in Japanese really quickly. Actually having genuine conversations even as a complete noob does wonders to your progress in learning a language. This stuff here gives lots of language exp.
She speaks multiple languages, so she may have already experienced getting over the inital awkwardness of the language barrier and can jump straight to the "make mistakes, smile through them, learn quick, repeat" phase.

I don't think it's conscious, most bilingual people I know use different pitches when they switch languages without realizing it.

It is, for girls who are trying to be cute. It’s called “burikko” - google it. You can also observe it with girls like Kson or Sally Amaki. They change pitch between languages, though Ksons is less noticeable. In Sally’s case she switches body language too, it’s pretty funny. For Sally when she speaks Japanese she sounds very cute and polite, when she switches to English she sounds like an LA valley girl with a dead soul.
The way both of them just yeet themselves at the language barrier is so fun and encouraging.
