    This game was lost in the trenches, and that's why i wasn't surprised we lost in OT. Not only were the Raiders getting huge holes to run through, they completely shut down our O line in the run game. It seemed like the Hawks didn't bring the juice and got mauled up front, which lead to everything else falling apart.

      💯 This game really made our lack of talent on the D-Line evident and unfortunately Max Crosby is a beast hopefully its a Major focus in this year's draft cause I love the trenches

    The first 6 plays of this video have Poona Ford (97) getting owned in 1 on 1 assignments. They run or cut through his gap in every one of those runs. He's a huge liability.
    Also, Haven't the Hawks run predominantly 2 high saftey sets all year?

    • @JonSwansonE
      @JonSwansonE Рік тому +1

      Yeah Poona is great at penetrating and being aggressive, but not well suited at all for playing the wait-and-see, absorb and nullify blocks type of 3-4 that Hurtt seems dead set on playing.

      @@JonSwansonE I agree. He was good in the old 4-3. He looks hopeless out there trying to hold up his gap and shuck the blocker away.

    Sticking to a scheme in the face of it failing disastrously is a Seahawk (and Pete Carroll) speciality.

      That’s historically a raiders thing as well. I hate when teams dont adjust at half or anytime in the game.

    So... It wasn't us, the Raiders, but schema? But it did work with the Giants, didn't it? By extension, it's us, lowly Raiders, isn't it? Nice hat trick but Josh handed you your arse, I'm afraid.

      He litterally said the Raiders O-Line played well and highlights the blocks made by the FB on Jordan Brooks and Poona getting dominated. The point of the video is that the Seahawks couldn't handle the Raiders in one on one blocks therefore running a 2 high scheme was detrimental for the run defense. I wish people didn't have such low attention spans it's honestly sad how you can't sit through a 10 minute video and pay attention

    • @BigBroKuma

    I saw the defense get beat!! They where" out of position " because they over ran the play then the o line and full back and Jacob's did the rest..this explanation is trash .

      Rams,9ers,Jets and Carolina are all run heavy teams so I doubt we will see a return to the heavy 2 high coverages except against the Cheifs. But overall this defense has a lack of talent and offenses like the Raiders are gonna make us choose whether we want Davante Adams to punish us or Josh Jacobs to punish us. This is just a huge reminder of what we need to focus on in the draft

    I don't know what Seattle called here, but I have a Monte Kiffin pdf about the 43 Under run defense that asks the backside 3 technique to slant to the strong side and fill the weak A gap, not the weak B.
    It also asks the strong side DE to take strong C Gap and the Stack Backer weak to be the free man to make tackles as the Mike engages the FB head on - something Mike Singletary did and taught to Ray Lewis and Patrick Willis. That Stack Backer is "covered" by the front and can flow unblocked to the ball carrier.

    I'd like to see them have Tariq follow Davante. I hear all sorts of excuses about it being difficult to change sides or that he shuts down one side of the field. Honestly, I'd rather shut down a player than a "side of the field". If I'm an OC, I'm going to put my worst receiver on his side. Yeah, Tariq shut down our WR3. If Tariq follows Davante, maybe we don't end up in an unsound scheme vs the run.

    • @BigBroKuma
      @BigBroKuma Рік тому

      Maybe we are sound against the run and maybe Davante Adams has a 150 yard receiving yard 3 td game and this is a video on how Davante Adams dismantled the Hawks defense. Expecting a corner who barely makes top 10 to shut down a top 5 receiver in the NFL who could still be argued to be number 1 if he had a better QB is ludicrous

    • @robfink5931
      @robfink5931 Рік тому +1

      A couple thoughts. I would expect the defense to adjust mid game if their game plan wasn't working, but you may have a point there. Clearly our scheme wasn't working last week and they completely failed to adjust, right up to the very last play which is really disappointing. However, a couple things having Tariq on Adam's does. He puts a little doubt in Carr's mind. Given the choice of testing him and going another way, maybe he tries someone else. Also, say he tests him a few times and Tariq gets a couple wins, that's all he has to do. Carr might avoid going his way at least a little. If he turns the best WR in the league into just an above average receiver, that's a win.

  • @terry7907
    @terry7907 Рік тому +2

    Sorry, but I do not agree. Jacob’s averaged 3.1 ypc on 31 rushes. The Seahawks run defense was fine, and so was their scheme. Unfortunately for them, he rushed 33 times. On those other two rushes he gained 116 yards and two touchdowns. This was just two bad, well blocked plays that wound up costing them the game.

    • @gabrielc2635
      @gabrielc2635 Рік тому +2

      it was for sure a scheme problem lol. we even let their backup get some good yardage

    • @timgoble7928
      @timgoble7928 Рік тому +1

      Watching the all 22.. it's appears to be a Poona Ford, C Barton and Josh Jones problem.
      The Hawks have been running 2 high safeties all year. It means we regularly dont have the extra defender in the box. Someone needs to win their assignment when it's 7 on 7 in the box. No one won their assignments on those plays.
      To say the run defense wasn't a problem is a very bold statement.

      @@tadrenaline Exaclty like I don't get why people use that as an argument when the reason why you give rbs like Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs the ball 30 times is so that they rip off a home run
