Paolo Sala - Dirty Boy (Cardiacs orchestral cover)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- Written by Tim Smith.
Orchestral rendering arranged and programmed by Paolo Sala; no real orchestra was involved in this project (so far).
Original version available on the album Sing To God by Cardiacs.
The picture of this video was created by DALL-E-2 AI system by following the plain and simple instruction: "dirty boy".
No copyright infringement intended, just another tribute to Timmy's genius.
Although the instrumental version seems to work fine to me, I also was fantasising about making a version with vocals in it. The plan might be to make a montage of several takes from various singing Pondies all around the world, and to simulate a sort of theatrical performance. If you like the idea, please get in touch with me and let's see what we can do.
Super nice.
What a precious gift !!!
This is wonderful - Tim would be proud of this 🎉
I really like the subtle way the sustained note at the end is done. The original song hits its coda with everything it's got, the entire universe and the kitchen sink, while this rendition starts with very quiet dynamics and then slowly layers on more and more elements. It gives the effect of watching a universe being born. Considering the original song's climax is (probably) about literal sexual climax, it's an interesting juxtaposition. Bravissimo.
LAUDATION - I am sure Timmy would have loved this x x x x
It only showcases Tim's talent as a composer: beautiful. Great work, man, hats (all 3 of them) off!
Fantastic, one of my favorite Cardiacs songs too.
Paolo, You really are onto something here. More !
This is fantastic. A kind of bridge between Anton Bruckner era and Tim Smith era, both so underrated geniuses. Thank you Paolo!
Fantastic tribute to Dr Tim Smith👏👏👏
Really lovely. Makes me think of what a soundtrack to a movie biopic of Tim might sound like.
Awesomeness
Loved it. A particular and creative point of view. You add even the ABC tones as a coda. Great job!
Beautiful work! Tim was a genius. Congrats. Subbed!
Good work! Worthy of laudation!
Splendid old chap.
Bloody amazing! - Well done!
I love this so much Paolo thank you x
Nice! The expanded palette changes the piece in interesting ways. I like your vision of the Dirty Boy International Choral Society and Theatrical Outfit. Count me in.
Court is in session, the honorable Dr. Tim Smith presides.
Every last Cardiacs composition should be recorded in orchestral form. Maybe you're the one to do it Paolo? 😉 Great job
I agree . . . a classical album should be done forthwith!!
Brilliant work! What a wonderful way to showcase Tim's composition
Wow!. Man, that was nice
Excellent!!!!!!!!
A triumph! Nicely done sir.
Che meraviglia, Paolo...!!!
Davvero complimenti... ho i brividi!! ❤🎶
E che meraviglia trovare altri fans dei cardiacs in Italia!
Sublime, outstandingly beautiful ❤️
beautiful! it works, but in an unexpected way. thank you!
No words. This is a masterpiece ❤
Stunning. Bravo.
If you add vocals, a choir is the way to go.
Brilliant and inspiring!!
Maybe use an Ebow at the end for the long drone.
They can be difficult to control, but worth it ehen it works !
Brilliant!
This is a fucking TRIUMPH.
BRAVO 👏
Wonderful!! Thank you
I’d been working on my own (naive and misguided) arrangement, glad to see someone else doing a version!
I'd like to hear your version, if it's available
It’s in very very early stages right now, but if I finish and upload it I’ll try to let you know!
Worthy 🌼❤🌼
This is quite amazing considering the complexity of the original recording. You should pursue adding vocals on to this track if possible with multiple singers taking their own phrase/passage (10 singers ? why not) where they join together by way of a crescendo at the finale, together! Worth a thought?
That was exactly my idea. I should give it a go, sooner or later.
@@PaoloSalasan please do.. You have an enviable talent to reproduce fantastic songs in the orchestra mode and to top it with vocals would be awesome
A tratti è anche commovente. Sei un vero maestro!
I am in!. Miami, FL USA
Give it a try then, and send me your best take.
Take a bow sir! Amazing!
This is outstanding.
Spectacular! What is the best way to get in contact with you?
Go to the info section of this channel, it should display my email (use the pc browser though, I'm afraid the info isn't available for mobile). Or you can follow the link to my discography on Bandcamp and contact me there.
good job - now go do one of "to go off and things" - i dare ya (itll be fun)
I'm thinking about it 🫣
oh come on... itll be fun *evil grin* What use is talent if remains unseen
@@PuzzledlifeTV done!
Now it just sounds like Wilderun which makes sense if you know anything about them lol
this sounds like it should be from a 90's jrpg soundtrack
It’s meant to sound like Wagner, not carnival of the animals… [goes off in a huff to conduct own orchestra ;]
As amateurish as I can be in orchestral arragements, one thing I'm pretty sure of: I want to sound as less wagnerian as possible.
@@PaoloSalasan carl orff?
@@hexonatapeloop I like it, but no. My aim is neo-classic balance 😁
5 seks in , love you bro, thanks
Too SLOWWWWWWwwway too SLOW
This version squeeses maximum the essence of Dirty Boy. Notes do not want to end. Thats why they last more.
